βFantastic teachers both my children attend swimming lessons here and are both progressing very well and enjoy their sessions.β
βGreat place to sunbathe and swim on a warm day - does get v busy on peak heatwave days so I prefer to go on quieter days. Large pool with lane swimming available for the serious swimmers. Staff and lifeguards always friendly. Reasonably priced. Toilet and changing facilities reasonable and ice cream sold on site. Take change for parking.β
βWe used London Essex Outdoor Living to order and install our first ever swim spa and pergola. They were very reliable, informative and helpful to fulfill our needs. Mark and Raffaele were particularly helpful, and always on hand if we had a question or a thought about the set up of our swim spa. I would totally recommend this company in their high standard of workmanship.Only wished we had done this work years ago. Thank you all for making our lives less stressful.β
βGreat pool can get busy at times and you can never tell when the busy times are unfortunately. Lovely spar with sauna, steam room, jacuzzi fully recommendedβ
βNice, clean pool and free parking!β
βFree parking. Polite staff and good teaching swimming instructors. My kids loves swimming here @ First Strokes Billericay.β
βReally enjoy the fun swim. It's a small quite pool so great for the kids to play and feel secure. There's an hour fun swim sat and sun. Changing rooms are ok and the showers warm.β
βPurchased at a garden show at Beaulieu in June. Great deal! 3-piece corner seating; glass-topped, height-adjustable table; bench stool; reclining chair. Comfortable seat height and back-rest height (not infants school seating!). Substantial seat pads and back cushions, none of your 2" thick stuff! Good communication regarding delivery timings. Delivered as agreed, promptly and well wrapped. Absolutely delighted with it!β
βA lovely space for kids of all ages, and a really nice way to spend a few hours on these hot summer days. Thereβs some natural shade, a water fountain and the nearby cafe has toilets, as well as serving ice cream, food & coffee until 5pm(ish). The pool is really well maintained by volunteers. Hope we can enjoy it for years to come!β
βStaff were fantastic and friendly. Pearl at front desk was friendly and accommodating. Fatima and her team in the restaurant were wonderful, helping us navigate much needed breakfast while we were there. Good food and lodgings. Good local transport to Heathrow and London. Excellent price and service.β
βI have used the baby swimming company for over 4 years now, they have taught both of my children to swim. I have been very happy with the teachers, the receptionist Ellie is amazing with my kids and the facilities work well for us.β
βThe swimming pool is nice and the membership is cheap for kings studentsβ
βI came to the London Zoo primarily to see the iconic historic Penguin Pool, designed by Berthold Lubetkin (1901-1990) and Tecton with Ove Arup (1895-1988) as structural engineer, the latter most famous for his work on the Sydney Opera House. The Penguin Pool itself, constructed between 1934 and 1935, has the delicacy of a Brancusi sculpture. It is no longer used as an actual pool for penguins, as it didn't really work for them (too much concrete, pool too shallow), which is the ultimate irony that the pool has in common with some other avantgarde architecture. Nevertheless it is a sight the behold, marking the optimism that came with modern architecture respectively the "international style" in the 1920s and 30s.β
βMy child has been attending classes since April and has grown in confidence in the water so much thanks to the wonderful instructors. They are very flexible in accommodating for different situations and I would definitely recommend them!β
βWent for a walk with my dog late afternoon and the park is looking outstanding. Definitely one of the best parts of the town. Itβs just a credit to the townβ
βReally good, with council paid surveillance!β
βGreat club, good training, with friendly people.β
βIt's a great place. The staff are friendly and helpful and so are the people that go there. I love going there. I highly recommend it. My thanks to them. A year later I think the same and I now attend the gym which is great and i highly recommend all of the activities there.β
βI've just started taking my son here for swimming lessons and am already really impressed with The Essex Swim School. Our teacher, Steve is great with the babies and very knowledgeable. The pool itself is warmer than leisure centres and the overall organisation and set up of the school is very easy and stress free. Highly recommend.β
βAn absolute lovely pool, the people are incredibly nice, the showers are lovely. Been coming here for 6 years and there is no complaints for this lovely and welcoming group. My only thing is that whenever I try to call the reception to see if they have any family fun sessions, half the time no one answers. But apart from that little thing a really nice place for you or your family.β
βBeautiful park in South east London. With lots of spaces, areas to chill or sit and rest.β
βLovely pool, it is split into a main pool and learner pool so thatβs nice for swimmers. Lane and general swim available. My daughter has swimming lessons here and the standard of teaching is high. The kids are pushed enough to be competitive but not so much that itβs negative competition. There are windows down two sides of the pool so when the sun is low you get beautiful dappled light in the water which feels lovely to swim in. One of the most unpretentious swimming pools around! Check it out next time you want a swim!β
βReally friendly staff all around, from in the gym to the receptions to life guards. Facilities have always been clean and car park is usually full when I go, however there are always people coming in and out, I find usually on the hr is when spaces open up, at 11 at 12 at 1 etc.β
βFirst time at this particular PI and the difference between here and the one up the road (London Twickenham Stadium) are poles apart. There is parking but we turned up around 21:00 and I was lucky to find a spot; the car park does serve the Beefeater next door. The front door is automatic which is handy when you have a lot of bags but the inner doors are manual. We were greeted by a friendly, very helpful and enthusiastic member of staff. Our room was on the first floor (no lift) at the front of the building and although there was a busy main road and a bus stop outside it wasnβt that noisy. The room and bathroom seem bigger and as usual the bed is very comfortable. The wardrobe/ shelving unit is lovely and big, easily fits 4 days of our clothes and four big shelves for all your other bits. In this PI the rooms have A/C and having bus stops outside is an added bonus. Only negative is that the toilets donβt flush very well.β
βPerfection! Absolute experts. Highly recommended. We just had a 12m x 6m outdoor pool designed and constructed by Falcon Pools (finished in May 2023). Tiled with electric pool cover, UV cleaning system and swim jet. Our experience with the company and with every member of the team has been wonderful - they are truly experts in their field and more than that, absolutely charming people. We had a high water table, a slope and running sand (ie: difficult conditions) - I'm not sure any other pool company could have coped. Falcon has decades of experience, across all types of conditions - so they overcame every challenge and delivered an absolutely stunning end-product. Falcon offers an ongoing pool maintenance service if you wish, we signed up, and enjoy having a weekly check-up and clean - it's not necessary though and you can always DIY if you wish. It's all so easy and pleasurable dealing with this company - exactly what you want when making an expensive purchase! They are very booked-up (currently building around 45 pools I understand), so get in quickly with your enquiry and don't jump-in with another provider until you've at least met with Falcon and seen one of their pools. You're welcome to view ours if you like!β
βWicked for some rc car fun. Park next to it for the kiddies and a field for footy. Nice weather makes it a nice spot for a picnicβ
βAmazing facilities, so many classes to choose from, reasonably priced monthly membership!β
βAmazing gym! Exceptional machines, lovely environment and friendly staff! Umar did the gym tour for us, and explained everything in detail. Very prepared team and ready to assist. Clean facility, endless options for a great workout session, of any kind! 10000% recommend!β
βAh! What can I say! Forrest Hill Pools, is definitely my A1 in the Better Gym branches. A breathe of fresh air! Not only are the staff lovely, but the gym itself is alway spotless! Cleaners regularly cleaning and keeping the place hygienic, customers respecting the facilities by also keeping it clean and putting equipment away. Classes are always great! Darren is a fantastic trainer, always attentive of everyone in the group and always encourages you. Caroline who is on reception always has a wonderful smile on her face when you enter and greets you warmly, just a great start to your day especially if youβre like me who will wake up at 5am get washed and dressed and drive 30-40 mins to get here, youβre drained as it is, then you step in and are welcomed by lovely staff! Itβs worth your travels! I havenβt been to this branch in a while, not fault of there own just circumstantial, but I will be returning shortly as they are thus far my favourite!!! Other than going to the gym and classes I havenβt used the pool, so I canβt comment on it, but will soon. They do junior gym which is great too, my son gets to come along with me at times before our home school hours which he enjoys. I also enjoy the virtual spin class. My only wish is that there was parking facilities but unfortunately there isnβt any but one disabled parking bay. Other than this there is nothing I can say against this Better branch. Well done to all the staff in this branch for keeping up good standards that is expect from your customers. Thank you because it makes the experience a good one.β
βI've always wanted to swim in this pool since visiting during the Olympics. Booked for the 50m competition pool via the Everyone Active app. At Β£7 per adult this is great value for money and comparable to any other leisure centre. The changing village was clean, plenty of hot showers, and the lockers (Β£1 returnable) were well maintained. The pool was clean and the temperature was good for continual lane swimming. Great experience and will certainly return!β
