“Lovely English Heritage property that is the former home of the Duke of Wellington, now filled with artwork on the edge of Hyde Park. The 6 rooms upstairs, 2 on Ground, and 1 in the Basement can be seen in about 40 minutes, though longer if you wish to admire and read about the artwork more. It’s the former home of the Duke of Wellington (victor of the Battle of Waterloo), so there is a sense of grandeur from the dining room, ceilings, and general flow of the home - even if it’s now mostly artwork vs. furnished rooms. The artwork is quite impressive, with paintings by Velázquez, Rubens, Goya, and more. Both an audio guide and in-room books area available to provide more information about the pieces. The basement then has a one-room exhibition about his life. Seats are available in many rooms. Check the hours before going - it’s typically closed Monday-Tuesday, even in summer, then often only open in the weekend from January. No shop, though a few books for sale in reception. Toilets in the basement were fine.”

“Came for the fish and chips and was not disappointed. Probably the best fish and chips in T5, even as early as 8.00am in the morning. The market place payment concept also works great as you can linger a long time while adding to your order. Works for a long transit wait. Better than the commercial lounge.”

“I hired the Post Restaurant for my 50th birthday party. The venue is beautiful and is a great space for dining and once tables are cleared a great space to mingle and dance. I had both a private buffet dinner followed by a party. The food, staff and execution of the whole night was excellent. .I cannot thank Pamela and her team enough for their professionalism, high quality customer service and attentiveness to me and my guests. I would recommend The Post in Penge and will definitely be back!”

“Great spacious room, deeply clean, extremely quiet (only 4 rooms), definitely efficient double glazed windows. Hot shower, comfy bed and all new from carpet to linen and towels. The owner ROB and one of the cleaner went the super extra mile to look for my lost AirPods. They even looked in the laundry rooms and he was even willing to look in the big communal bins. What a legend!!!! Thx again x Lovely also the friendly lady (maybe an other owner) who checkout us out even if passed the time, as late. There are property meeting down the pub for Samuel Leeds inner circle. Definitely, this place will be always on our list for the guests or speakers.”

“Amazing salad and prawn toast. I had the season yum salad. Spicey and DELICIOUS. Maybe I’m a pig but I’d have liked the salad to be a larger portion for the price however, there was a fair bit of seafood in it.”

“A very nice steakhouse situated in the JW Marriott hotel. They have a great menu for beef lovers or vegetarians. I am informed that they also have one of the best whiskey collections in town, with some bottles dating to the early 20th century. The service is friendly and efficient. All the food that we've had here has been excellent. I typically don't like eating in hotel restaurants but this one is worth trying.”

“Staff seem to have been trained in mind reading ("can you tell me where the..." "toilets? Left at the end of the bar, Sir") and are wonderfully warm and friendly. Tables stocked and emptied without you even noticing ("where did that empty glass go?" with no sense of intrusion. And the food was delicious - the "best sticky toffee pudding you've ever had", said my wife...”

“Had an outstanding experience at Boulevard Brasserie. My partner and I had lunch together. We booked for around 12 and arrived at first at a very quiet restaurant which got very lively as lunchtime hit. The atmosphere was great. Our server (Tzouliano listed on Receipt) was great. Very quick and polite - thank you for your service. The food was fantastic. We opted for the lunch set menu. Having the Baked Brie Filo starter and Butternut risotto for main. My partner had the Sea bass for main, with a side of Fries. We shared a Creme Brulé for dessert. Would highly recommend all of them. Will be visiting again soon and recommending to all, thank you for a great experience.”

“I’m a big fan of this local pub. I used to live just around the corner, and it truly felt like a second home — or even a cosy grandparents’ house. It’s surprisingly spacious, with chic dried flower arrangements on every table (even the cutlery boxes are lovely). The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, and the staff are friendly, smiling, and attentive — not overbearing, just genuinely kind and efficient. They regularly rotate seasonal beers, so there’s always something new to try, and the food is consistently good. You can watch sports on TV, play darts, enjoy a few board games, and there’s even something to keep the kids entertained. A proper gem of a pub.”

“I set up my first fish tank just after Christmas, and Squires Aquatic Department has been amazing in advising me on the best ways to make it successful. I bought blue neon tetras. Fish, I have always wanted. Squires staff advised on how many to first introduce to the tank, when to add snails and shrimp. Great service. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. This will be my go-to store.”

“We booked on first table so had 50% off. The French onion soup was nothing short of sensational and I would come back for that alone. The duck breast was also delicious but it came with vegetables that were almost raw and too far from Al dente. It’s also very expensive. £4.50 for a small bottle of Coke Zero is insane. Staff were lovely though and a cosy atmosphere.”

“Every year I’ve been attending this cafe especially for the occasional event Nottinghill Carvinal. The breakfast menu is the best & the staff are so friendly, welcoming & very efficient with understanding your order. I am very impressed with how nice & clean the decor is & everything is halal based which is really nice as well. 5 stars are well deserved for this & I will definitely be back here again very soon!”

“Really good, old school pub. No pretence, no nobs, no shoreditch type helmets. A locals pub it seems, subtle art deco styling inside. Hasn't been refurbished in years and all the better for it. Well priced beers too, a few ales on tap and the regular lagers. Went in on a random Tuesday, they had an open mic poetry night on. Actual people speaking, listening and not engrossed in their phones”
