“The food is spectacular. I especially recommend the fish wrap starter and the curried goat main. The cocktails are lovely and good value when 241. They also do a kids menu. The services is very good. We were served by Antony who was very pleasant indeed and he made us feel welcome and relaxed. He spoke to my 3 year old daughter to. Which was nice.”
“My favorite pub in the UK! I’ve visit a lot of pubs but the Cross Keys is near home and every time I go is all joy, food, drinks, restaurant, pub, garden in summer… I visit almost every week and I never regret it. Fully recomended! Best part? Cruzcampo, a beer from Sevilla, my home town.”
“Absolutely loved our experience at Oblique! The food was simply amazing — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The hospitality was top-notch; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. Special shoutout to the owner for being so welcoming and ensuring everything was perfect. Quick responses and genuine care made our visit truly memorable. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and exceptional service!”
“Visited here for the first time to get my first ever tattoo. All the staff were very polite and welcoming. Definitely go out of their way to help and support. Plus I now have a cute little tattoo and will definitely be returning.”
“A very nice local pub, had a great lunch with family, great food enjoyed by all. Nice beer, nice garden. Very clean toilets!”
“Visited for the first time this Sunday afternoon after having spied the Lilacs whilst out for a walk a couple of weeks previously. What a lovely place, a bit TARDIS like, it's bigger on the inside than it looks this is a really nice pub, with a big open airy restaurant and multiple outside spaces. The Sunday menu is good, not a wide selection, but everything on the menu appears to be well balanced and from our experience is done well. We had starters, carvery and dessert and all were lovely. The carvery was one of the best I've had, veg wasn't overcooked or dried out from being sat on the hot plate too long, the meat was juicy, tender and cooked nicely and the cauliflower cheese I could have eaten by the gallon. A delightful selection of desserts were on display in the cabinet, and the chocolate and cheesy mousse dessert I selected was beautiful, a rich deep flavour whilst still being light enough after a big meal. Topped it all off with a latte with Bailey's in and I was a happy man. The staff were all really friendly, and very attentive and helpful, service was quick and came with smiles and personality. We're already looking at when we can return to try the regular evening menu and another of the cakes from the cabinet.”
“Great little proper pub that has thankfully stood the test of time. Not changed since I last visited 20 years ago and that is a highly positive thing. Good prices for great beers. Since returned 3 times in past 2 months. Why did I wait so long???!!! More fool me...”
“Just came in for a quick pint before a wedding. Went for the American IPA. Good service. Lovely pint. Even though it was busy, it was lovely and peaceful sat in the beer garden.”
“Three of us had lunch here today after a 10 mile walk. Absolutely excellent food, good beer and very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Two courses for £17.50. One of us said that the plaice was the best he'd ever had and the dragon pie was just what we needed”
“This is a strange and unusual venue. But as you would expect the club itself is entertaining and welcoming. Once the music and entertainment starts though you find yourself enjoying it. The outside area is a bit cramped, but navigable. The staff are helpful and good to chat with. Good.”
“Very kind staff allowed us to eat after breakfast had already finished. The Chef kindly rustled us up some breakfast sandwiches and big portions too! Lovely pub, very quaint. Really appreciate hope helpful everyone was. Thank you!”
“Popped in for lunch and had a lovely meal. Highly recommend the mushrooms on toast, and the chips were smashing. Slight problem with the battered fish, but the staff were very apologetic, and happy to put things right :) nice touch that the chef also came out to check in with us. P.S. They're dog friendly in the bar!”
“We went to the Rose and Crown at Hartwell this past Friday... we've been meaning to visit here for a while. So glad we did and sorry we have not been sooner! The food, service and atmosphere was brilliant. They have a great team who are really friendly, helpful and customer focused. The menu was varied and caters for all tastes. I chose the brie and mushroom crostini as a starter - it was superb! The mains were great - I opted for fish and chips and it didn't disappoint. My wife had one of the specials... the honey chilli salmon and rice with pak choi. Again, delicious! We finished off with the amazing cheese platter - it had us beat! A really generous sharer with enough for a to-go box! All round, really excellent value for a delicious meal out. This little gem is just 2 miles from Hanslope. Give it a go and support our local businesses 100% recommended!”
“Lovely friendly pub. Quick friendly service. Food was excellent. Portions just the right size to leave room for pudding.”
“Revisited at lunchtime today. What a lovely village pub! Excellent two pints ( Potbelly) in perfect nick. £4.10 a pint, woo hoo! Spotless loos. Super landlady to talk to. Plenty of oldie lunchtime customers. Decent home made lunches esp the esps! Glorious garden to sit out in. Great to see a room with Northants skittles in it too. And best of all, whether you go out the front or back there's a bus stop right there to get you home. I loved it! Go, I beseech you!!”
“Love love love!! What a great pub. We are first timers and came down to the Devvy last week for the 125th anniversary day and what an atmosphere, the place was jumping! All the bar staff and the owners were all dressed in outfits from different decades, it was fab! Very friendly too. Goats in Trees were our favorite, they were electric. We will definitely be back ❤️”
“A lovely little gem of a place. Amazing and lovely staff. Beautiful bar room with plenty of seating.”
“Love this place! The food is amazing: freshly prepared and cooked, awesome quality ingredients-doubt you'd find a better quality fry up anywhere else locally, epic portion sizes too! The decor is truly unique. From Only Fools and Horses quotes and pictures to old hats, guitars and vinyls up on the walls. You'll struggle to not spot something new each time you visit. The staff are always friendly and helpful. All in all, my favourite way to start the weekend is a Jester's breakfast!”
“A great place to come and try what's available in the world of beer. An excellent range if craft beers bottled, canned or on draught. The selection on offer is well thought out, offering a range across the varieties. From Spurs to DIPAs to shouts and everything in between. There are spirits and cocktails on offer for those not keen on beer, and nibbles are available for the peckish. The decor is clean and welcoming. With nice little touches with the lighting etc. Would highly recommend for the knowledgeable friendly staff, and the amazing range to go at. Worth several visits to make your way through them all.”
“Fantastic experience food was amazing and the service was fab ! Really reccomend !!! 5 of had pie and mash each with multiple drinks and one starter all for under £100”
“Popped in for a fantastic Italian meal last night. My friend had the calzone which was crammed full of delicious pizza toppings and I had the special salmon pasta which was superb. All washed down with a few pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord. Definitely worth a visit!”
“Being a very average golfer who is just starting out on my golf journey I played in 40mph + winds and it was definitely challenging, especially the back 9. Lost a few balls but loved every minute of it. Staff were very friendly.”
“Got a tip off a local foodie page on Facebook and visited with my friend. Wow was well worth the 40 min drive. Very attentive service and the food was amazing. They use local produce so the menu varies day by day . We got there early and it was full by the time we left make sure you book. Will definitely return to sample more.”
“Fantastic little community / local pub. Friendly customers, lovely staff. Recommended.”
“Lovely pub. They were really accommodating as there were 10 of us with 14 dogs.He went out of his way opening up a large room to the side of the pub(have to social distance).lots of room for us all. A fare selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks don't think they do food but we had a lovely time there. Even all the dogs left with a doggy treat. Would go there again when I'm up that way again .”
“Nice pint and friendly to kids. Always have stuff going on. Would definatly recommend the beer festival where their is a wide veriaty of beers and ciders. Happy drinking!”
“Great little find. Great selection of cider and ale. Why can't most other pubs have a selection on offer like the Saxon tavern does? We have a pub 3 minutes walk away in gt billing and still prefer to taxi over to Earl's Barton! The misses loves it there. They accept card payments now and the staff are great. 5 stars from us”
“I recently visited this hidden gem of a vegan cafe located on a boat near the skate park, and it was an absolute delight. Despite not knowing about its existence until a friend's recommendation, I'm so glad I discovered it. The entire menu is vegan-friendly, catering perfectly to our party's dietary preferences. The service was exceptional; the lady serving us was incredibly polite and friendly, making our first visit feel warm and welcoming. We appreciated how accommodating they were to our requests, happily making changes to our orders without any fuss. Even when they ran out of nuggets, they went above and beyond by deducting it from the bill, a gesture that truly impressed us. The food arrived promptly and exceeded our expectations in taste and presentation. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Despite being initially quiet, the cafe gradually filled up, creating a lively ambiance. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that left us all thoroughly satisfied and eager to return.”
“I’ve been coming here for a while and always enjoy the drinks they make, the staff are really welcoming. The variety of drinks is amazing, you can actually taste the alcohol instead of just getting ice and juice like you get everywhere else. There were so many drinks I had never heard of, what a place. The decor is so London, the atmosphere is so London and what great people they get there, I literally made new friends, there is nothing to come close to this bar in Bedford. Thank you OURS for a great 7 hours in one place that flew by, I felt like I was only there a couple. Love you all that looks after us girls. See you all soon”
“Lovely pub on a very pretty high street, warm welcome and a few beers to pick from. Would be nice to see a good IPA on draft but other than that it's well worth popping in. They do regular live music and food events too.”
