“Yumacha is excellent. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Fabulous food with lots of variety. They have the best prawn toast we've had anywhere! We've had many wonderful meals here. We went at lunchtime and they were very welcoming to our small child too.”

“First time visiting and it won’t be the last! Food was piping hot and so tasty. Young girl serving us was super and its such a shame there wasn’t an option to add TIP to the card payment as we didn’t have cash on us. We know for next time! Thank you all. The Lamb was soooo nice!”

“Great food. Had a lovely lunch from the set menu. Very reasonably priced and main and desert were spot on. Had a latte and a soft drink as well, all nice. Don't know about alcohol prices but well worth a visit for lunch. Just a short update. Unfortunately the current management team are having to give up this pub in August 2025 due to new government budget pressures and family illness. Such a shame. Hope they can get somewhere else soon and, if not, wish them all the best for the future”

“Beautiful food, perfect in every way!! Only criticism is we weren’t asked how our food was soon after receiving it, brother had fries and would have liked some kind of sauce. Noticed waitresses and waiters would happily avoid eye contact, weren’t overly busy and plenty of staff but preferred to chat. Waited a long time for bill also. Again no complaints about the food compliments to the chef, staff could have been more attentive that’s all.”

“Was in Southwell for the day and we were looking on internet and came across the old ship so we decided to visit. Friendly, helpful and polite staff the place was very clean and tidy. The food was very reasonably priced and very good quality and a good range of choice. Would recommend to others.”

“First time here and I was really impressed! The roast chicken dinner was the best I’ve ever had – the chicken was succulent, tasty, and perfectly cooked. Everything was homemade, with the stuffing being especially good, and the gravy was rich and full of flavor. The waitress was very pleasant and the service was quick. “Great pub, gotta be the best in the village I’d say nowadays. Always busy, had great food, something for everyone. Great garden, always has been: the place is and has been amazing since the refurb! The real ale selection is a bit lacking but that’s not their main attraction, if you want that, go to other pubs in the village! Now for the star of the show: Lawrence! He’s great, and is an amazing waiter. He takes great care of you and his customer service is always on point.”

“Came for tapas; crispy squid, Spanish hot flatbread, meatballs. All reasonably priced, squid was slightly tough but batter was lovely and light and was overall fab. Flat bread was perfect and so delicious, meatballs were also spot on. Sangria passion fruit and mango was also great. Good vibe with plenty of tables and service was really good with polite staff. Mix up on the reciept but was easily sorted. Booked the tables so no wait required. Would recommend!”

“Wow! This Carvery was amazing! Even though we are Liverpool Fans, the Chef gave us a huge Welcome and a generous amount of meat (I had the Beef and Pork). We moved onto the Vegetables and honestly, I can't think of a single Veg that wasn't present. All of them looked fresh (2pm ish) and replenished regularly as well as being crunchy and piping hot. The table staff were welcoming too - it was worth the drive and, we'll be back. I have a modest appetite so, don't let the size and selection of my plate put you off - there were Yorkshire's, my bro had 2, and potatoes - you can have as much as you want!”

“First time having a pint in the frame breakers. What can I say...... It's a quaint little pub in towards the centre of Ruddington, so it nicely located. The staff seem friendly, and they serve a nice array of craft ales and beers. Prices ain't bad and from what I saw of the food, it looked good. Definitely worth a cheeky beer in.”

Ziggy served me and he clearly takes pride in his work, and it shows in the attention to detail and quality of the food they create. From the perfectly cooked eggs to the crispy bacon and delicious sausages every bite was a true delight. But it wasn't just the food that made this breakfast special - Ziggy's warm and welcoming personality added an extra touch of charm to the experience. They clearly love what they do, and it shows in the way they interact with customers. Overall, I would highly recommend Lounge bar to anyone looking for a top-notch meal and a friendly atmosphere. “Had a fantastic meal at Hickory’s Smokehouse in Nottingham last Saturday night with friends! The food was genuinely impressive — hands down the best BBQ I’ve had from anywhere in the UK. The meats were cooked perfectly, full of flavour, and had that authentic smoky taste that’s so hard to find done right over here unless I'm doing it on my BBQ at home!! The staff were brilliant too — super friendly, attentive, and brought a fun, relaxed vibe to the whole experience. It really made the visit even more enjoyable. Definitely planning to return soon. If you’re into BBQ and haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!!”

“Despite being really busy they managed to seat us at a comfortable table. They advised was going to be 30 mins which we were happy at, and it was pretty much bang on 30 mins when it arrived and it was well worth the wait. The staff were very pleasant and food was spot on. “Popped in on a Tues at 2.30pm. Luckily they serve food whilst loads of other food places in Nottingham were closed. Ordered lamb kofte and burger and chips. Food was served quickly and was delicious. Decor and atmosphere upstairs is very well decorated with posters, large screen tv and plants. I would recommend popping in.”

“We recently chose to have our wedding reception at The Canalhouse in Nottingham, and it was the best decision we could have made. Amy, the Events Manager, and her amazing team went above and beyond to make our day truly unforgettable. From our very first meeting, Amy was warm, welcoming, and incredibly organised. She put us at ease straight away and made sure every detail was thought through. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her…she even met with our DJs ahead of time to coordinate the evening plans and timings! We brought in our own decorations and shared our vision for the day, and Amy and her team quite literally brought our dream to life. Walking into the room as husband and wife and seeing it all come together for the first time was magical. The food was exceptional…it arrived on time, tasted amazing, and catered perfectly for guests with allergies and special requests. We received so many compliments on how efficient, friendly, and attentive the staff were throughout the day. Honestly, our wedding wouldn’t have been as perfect without Amy. She and her team absolutely smashed it out of the park. We can’t thank them enough for the care, effort, and attention to detail they put into everything. “Great music. The cocktails and service was the best on my trip to Lincoln. So good, I went again the night after. Price of the drinks was very good too! Also for a bit of fun, there are telephones dotted around the venue which you can call and talk to random people!”

“Brilliant selection of ales and I did notice a wide range of gins too. Food is also really good and all locally sourced; nice touch. It's really nice to see how they've turned the place into having a proper local feel to it. Can't fault it at all. They even serve dog beer for our four legged friends. They also accept CAMRA cards too so the discounts offered are little but appreciated.”

“If you're wondering how good the Earl of Chesterfield is under new ownership you have no need to worry - it's fantastic! We've just had an absolutely wonderful meal - the food was beautiful and the staff were brilliant. The manager (I think his name is Joe) is superb!”

“Held my late Mum's wake here. Quite a small affair, so we chose to have an area of the bar. The staff were so helpful from start to finish.
