“Brilliant pub, wonderful staff and patrons. A good selection of well kept beer.”
“Incredibly attentive staff who presented a lot of thought care into the simplest aspects of the evening I.e table set up. Drinks were lovely and the food incredible. Highly recommend the Pork Belly starter.”
“A wonderful family meal to celebrate my birthday! Staff were so attentive and lovely, food was perfect and atmosphere was fabulous! Love it here!”
“A fantastic little pub with a great atmospher and a great selection of beer. We stopped while on a walk and having walked past the two other pubs in the village we couldn't resist the woodlark. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon and the out door seating area was packed, booking a table to eat would be esential. We didn't eat but the menu looked good and we'll be back next week to give it a go.”
“Lovely little micropub with a few kegs on tap and cask too! Well kept beer as far as I can tell. Nice local atmosphere and decor, I like that they have lots of traditional ales along with the usual craft stuff. It's all table service and the staff are friendly, for what it is the beer is also very well priced. Menu is now via a qr code. Pleased to call it my local.”
“A lovely place run by Charlie, a friendly guy. I like the soup and toasty combo. Prices are good too and they often have free breakfast for kids”
“Excellent pub about 15 minutes walk from Nottingham Railway Station. Eight cask beers on handpump when I visited including a stout plus a range of real ciders. Lots of outdoor seating upstairs some of it covered. The pub is known locally as the King Billy.”
“A lovely family Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all. A large Sunday roast beef for me with Yorkshire Pudding, roast potatoes, kale, parsnip, carrot & stuffing. Friendly, quick & efficient service. We'll be back!”
“Delicious toasties and fantastic vegan options. I love that the toastie flavours are often seasonal. I had the mulled wine poached pear with hazelnut one in winter and it was AMAZING! I like the coffee, they have lots of interesting drinks and different milk options. Lots of lovely shops and stonebridge city farm which is great. Outdoor seating is lovely and spacious, I sometimes find inside a little busy and noisy (just because it's popular!)”
“Great pub, great staff, great customers great big landlord Big Murph, I love the place, go visit”
“We had the best, unexpected night at the Blues Dawg, called in just passing, the atmosphere was fantastic, the owner/manager brilliant, staff so friendly, relaxed good fun night, great live music to sing a long to, it made my wife's birthday, thank you. We will definitely be back.”
“The Top House in Bulwell is a local community public House. It is welcoming and the building is set back from a quiet road. There is ample parking and a large outside space which is well designed and consists of a couple of attractive terraced areas, one under cover. It is not a 'food pub' but harks back to the days when pubs were pubs. Cobs, which used to be available in every pub during the 50s, 60s and 70s, are available and the atmosphere is relaxed and convivial. The beer prices are extremely reasonable, and the staff are polite and efficient. In short, if you're in Bulwell, I recommend paying this hostelry a visit. You won't be disappointed”
“Just had a beautiful Sunday roast here, all home cooked.. Nice atmosphere too.. A real traditional pub as they used to be, highly recommend it.”
“The food was incredible, cooked to perfection. Dishes were a good size and the food was divine. The drink was also great. Enjoyed the experience. Staff service was slow however it was busy. It’s took time to get our drinks ordered and the food between plates was a bit slow. Positive part of the service the staff was really friendly and made the experience great ! However the food made up for this. The atmosphere was also great. Will come again and definitely recommend the establishment.”
“Delicious kebabs (both meat and vegetarian) with a good quantity of hot roasted vegetables, fresh salad and tasty pita. The lady serving us was very friendly, and it was an excellent meal for the price.”
“Great menu, loads of veggie and vegan options alongside trad pub classics. Excellent beer selection for those who like that. And busy - so it's clearly not just me who thinks this is a cracking pub. Highly recommended.”
“Beautiful, proper old style pub. Warm and welcoming. Lots of small intermat rooms. Well worth a regular visit.”
“Fabulous real ale pub, relaxing bar and lounge rooms. Live entertainment draws a good crowd in on a regular basis. Have an outdoor area and marque (available to hire out for parties) would recommend to all Lager, Real Ale + Cider drinkers. Busiest pub in Kimberley, especially in the evenings when those in the centre close early!”
“Love Shack....awesome joint, beware the locals though....:-)”
“We loved this place. A friendly welcome. Lots of good cups of tea from our own teapot in bone china tasted lovely. The scone jam and cream were also special. The staff had time for us and there is the promise of an open fire in winter. We are looking forward to returning.”
“A great venue to hold parties and events, well stocked bar and friendly staff. Well priced too”
“Classic pub almost unchanged since I used to visit with my Dad back in the late ‘70s. Now the brewery tap for the adjoining Nottingham Brewery and has a great range of their beers always in top condition. Friendly locals, great staff and decent pub snacks too. A reminder of what St Peter’s Street was like before it became student land. Anyone serious about beer and an authentic pub atmosphere needs to make the effort to visit. Highly recommended.”
“Was in Southwell for the day and we were looking on internet and came across the old ship so we decided to visit. Friendly, helpful and polite staff the place was very clean and tidy. The food was very reasonably priced and very good quality and a good range of choice. Would recommend to others.”
“If you're looking for a truly satisfying and delicious breakfast, look no further than Lounge Bar! The breakfast they prepared for me was simply outstanding - one of the best I've ever had. Ziggy served me and he clearly takes pride in his work, and it shows in the attention to detail and quality of the food they create. From the perfectly cooked eggs to the crispy bacon and delicious sausages every bite was a true delight. But it wasn't just the food that made this breakfast special - Ziggy's warm and welcoming personality added an extra touch of charm to the experience. They clearly love what they do, and it shows in the way they interact with customers. Overall, I would highly recommend Lounge bar to anyone looking for a top-notch meal and a friendly atmosphere. Five stars all around - thanks for the amazing experience!”
“The food was amazing. We had a chicken and lamb Sunday lunch. A good sized portion and very reasonably priced. We had GF Chocolate Fuche cake with custard and sticky toffee pudding with custard. Both were delicious! I would highly recommend a visit! We had booked an outside table and were running late. We called to let them know and they were very understanding. Service was excellent. Thank you”
“Fantastic pub. Great food and drinks. Staff are friendly and welcoming, what more can you ask for in a pub, we've been many times and will continue to to do so.”
“Unusual large pub live music and amazing decor. Upstairs and downstairs bars. Very popular, especially At weekends. Find the toilets. Ha ha, behind the bookcase. Very Gothic in design and worth a visit.”
“Brilliant selection of ales and I did notice a wide range of gins too. Food is also really good and all locally sourced; nice touch. It's really nice to see how they've turned the place into having a proper local feel to it. Can't fault it at all. They even serve dog beer for our four legged friends. They also accept CAMRA cards too so the discounts offered are little but appreciated.”
“Held my late Mum's wake here. Quite a small affair, so we chose to have an area of the bar. The staff were so helpful from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble and all delivered with a smile. The food was excellent and commented upon by all. Big thank you to all the staff for making it a lovely end to the day.”
“Pints before the Leeds game, excellent”
