“Now this restaurant is one of my favorite in Plymouth. First of all, the taste is amazing and the price is reasonable. In my case, the service was very good as well. The staff was very smily and treated customer very welcoming way. I particulary liked the spinich drinks with ginger. Honestly, I needed to look up the juicer machine online after drinking it because it was so good! I found it amazing, but the one who I went there with did not found it great so I would say this could be very personal opinion. - Review is peronal opinion anyway, isnt it? The opening hours is quite limited as it is inside of the market place. Check the opening hours before you visit. (For me, the soup and dry noodles were equally good)”
“Absolutely brilliant place! Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked, the service was spot-on, and it's a really nice, cosy little dining room. It's also really affordable - I'm so glad it's still a BYO. Will definitely be coming here again as soon as we can.”
“Had a quick lunch in Plymouth market. Order the Chestnut stir fry with beef, it comes with rice and a seafood noodles. The food is a bit salty and sweet for my oriental tongue, the portion is good! Ordered a Thai milk tea, a bit sweet for me but it’s okay after the food.”
“Had breakfast. Asian steak and eggs. Waa the best breakfast I have ever had. Service was amazing and pricing was good. Dog friendly too. Go and visit this place. You won't be disappointed.”
“Food was fresh, piping hot and delicious. Pad see Ew was very authentic. The home made spinach, apple and ginger drink was delicious”
“Excellent meal! Great service. The best meal I have had in a long time.”
“Having visited The Kentish Hare, also managed and run by the Tanner Brothers, we felt we should absolutely try The Barbican Kitchen. As the ethos of both restaurants is heavily rooted in using locally sourced and seasonal produce the menu was of course different to The Kentish Hare, but equally as fabulous. Excellence service added to the excellent meals added to a 5 Star experience.”
“Sunday Lunch I went with Hubby and very dear friends for Sunday Lunch at the Mussel Inn today and…..Wow!!!! The first 2 things that hit you is the very friendly greetings and the ambiance of this lovely village pub. Already a winner and the best place to walk into on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Sam welcomed us warmly despite being very busy with other Patrons. Front of house staff are very polite and professional with the utmost patience while we were ordering our meals. We started with Hummus - very delicate and delicious, made in house. My friend had the roast lamb which looked amazing. My Roast beef was cooked to exactly how I wanted it. The duo roast looked very tempting. The Veg trimmings cooked perfectly packed with flavour. We cleaned all our plates. Apple Crumble to celebrate such a lovely meal and experience. We were not rushed at all. Our afternoon was very relaxing. It has been a long time since Covid that we felt relaxed as opposed to other places where timed seating feels rushed. Sam checked on us and his team were very attentive. We also had the pleasure of meeting the Head Chef. This was my second experience here and will be going back with more friends. Oh and if you’re reading this and go during the week - you must try the charred aubergine!!! Yum!!”
“Some of the best Kra Prow I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve been to Thailand! Got it with tofu, and it was absolutely fabulous. Sooo flavorful, with a nice kick but not too spicy. Went there 2 nights in a row while on holiday, b/c it was that good!”
“We always have a lovely time at the Treby. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Their Sunday Roasts are fantastic and by far the best around. We highly recommend!”
“This is an incredibly authentic pub with bucket loads of character (decor, chef and bar staff). The food blows anything from your “usual local pub” out of the water. Had scallops, kind prawns and fish goujons with lovely crusty brown bread. The special beer on tap was a real treat. Atmosphere at 8pm on a Tuesday was quiet and cosy (candle light type vibe) but got lively at 9.30pm when the locals farmers arrived, who were all nice. If you are a city prince or princess this might not be for you…. but in my opinion this is a real hidden gem.”
“Absolutely incredible. The staff were all lovely and the food was TO DIE FOR! There was a bit of wait for a table but the food most definitely made up for it. 11/10 for vegan options. The guacamole reminded me of what we had in Mexico recently, really authentic and fresh. My only complaint is that we don’t live closer!”
“Dropped in here for lunch after chatting to the new owners outside before our walk around the area. We chose from the lunchtime menu and were very impressed with the quality and quantity of the food. Very flavoursome and fresh. We were chatting during lunch and told they do a good Malaysian selection. We will definitely be revisiting to try that out too. Very friendly staff and good service, reasonable service too. Definitely recommended. When finished you can go into the wholesale shop next door to pick up genuine Ingredients for your home cooking.”
“The food is great, and those guys always have a smile on their faces :)”
“Wonderful place for fine dining with great atmosphere, restaurant located by seaside at the heart of Barbican, various menu, large portions, very tasty/hearty food and beautifully presented and attention to the detail.”
“I really love this restaurant. I left Plymouth in 2008 but come back every year to see family. I tend to order takeaway but this year my wife and I went in for a date night. The food, service and atmosphere were all fantastic. The owner and the staff are lovely and welcoming. We ordered vegan food over three courses and had a great time.”
“Called in for a takeaway. Friendly service and wide range of meal choices at a reasonable price. We were pleasantly surprised at the short wait for the meals to be ready”
“Simply some of the best oriental products you can find! Make sure to drop in on a Thursday (plz check) for the tasty fresh bits.”
“Visited last week and had a great meal. Amazing flavours and spice. Recommend to anyone wanting a good Indian meal”
“Some of the best food in paignton my hot wings were delicious and the rice is full of flavour”
“Was genuinely surprised at how very good the food was here. We bought takeaway here a few years back, and it was nice enough but not outstanding. Then came for an actual dine-in meal a couple of nights ago and was amazed at the quality. I gather there has been some change in set-up since we bought that takeaway, and the meal we had here was pretty much perfect. Really beautifully cooked dishes with great flavours and quality ingredients. The slow cooked pork belly was fabulous, as was the sizzling black pepper beef. Dining in it was reasonable value for money. Alcoholic drinks seemed quite expensive (though maybe I'm just out of touch), and portions were very fair but not huge, but as I say the actual food was really exceptional. Certainly if Asian Bowls ever became a BYO we'd eat there once a month. As it is, we will definitely be back next time we have something to celebrate!”
“We tried this place by chance and discovered it was really good ! Food always piping hot, and lots to chose from on menu. Not 'swimming in oil' which is important. We have tried quite a few things from the menu now and have been pleasantly surprised at flavour and presentation. Well recommended.”
“I always order Malaysian curry beef extra spicy. Really nice. Go well with boiled rice. Love it. The shop is very clean, the service is very good.”
“Amazing, authentic, fresh Thai food. Would highly recommend and we’ll definitely be ordering again. Wonderfully quick and friendly service too!”
“First time ordering from here and the food was delicious! The Chicken Satay was so good! We also ordered the Stir Fried Beef with Oyster Sauce, Chicken Pad Thai Noodles, Steamed Jasmine Rice and the Vegetable Spring Rolls. A lovely friendly family run take-away that we will definitely be ordering from again! Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“Excellent service, pay in advance, swift delivery to your table. Delicious food and there's a carafe of water on the table, along with bamboo chopsticks, forks and spoons. It was pleasantly busy (a Tuesday). They do close at 9pm.”
“Had breakfast at this quaint little cafe on Monday. Lovely owner who appeared obsessed with Queen Liz, friendly service and good food priced good. Typical locals cafe. Will return.”
“Had a lovely family celebration meal (lunchtime). Food was lovely, as always. Beautifully presented. Fantastic view. Staff were brilliant. Love coming here with my husband as he is disabled but able to park here, easy entrance, roomy toilet and lift to upper floor.”
“We didn't stay here, but passed through for a pint and lunch and it's a wonderfully cosy pub with a friendly atmosphere and friendly service. The food we had was also delicious. Well worth a visit!”
