“A casual pub dinner far exceeded our expectations in terms of food quality and quantity - so many prawns in the linguine! The service was fabulous, thanks to Holly and Sophia. We had been told there was no Whitebait left so ordered a different starter but then two generous plates of whitebait arrived for us. We were of course very happy with this but were still offered a complimentary glass of wine each due to this slight miscommunication. A really lovely experience sat in the outdoor dining area on a balmy summers evening, with a gentle buzz of conversation around us, plus great food and service. Thanks Foundry Bell.”

“Came here the other day and i was pleasantly surprised, Im not a local of Reading so this area was new to me but it felt like i discovered a new world. Everyone was so friendly (customers and staff). It was fairly busy in there and i still got served within seconds. The girl behind the bar, chelsea i think her name was, she was a breath of fresh air had good banter and service was top notch. Definitely coming back here when im next in reading 10/10”

“I’ve been here twice now and the staff are really friendly and clearly a strong team. I had the truffle burger and chips option in the meal deal with the room and it was gorgeous. The burger was cooked just right, the chips crisp and fluffy, the mushroom done just right so it wasn’t leaking juice everywhere. Staff were attentive and genuinely seemed to take pride in the service they offered.”

“Having a great breakfast on a Sunday morning. We ordered two Java small breakfast, it came in a good portion, 2 fried eggs, 1 bacon, 1 sausage, 1 hash brown, mushrooms, beans and tomato and a toast. It’s only £8.50 including a good coffee (Flat White, whatever coffee you want), it’s a very good price. The food was great. The food was serving hot and quick, didn’t wait long. The staff were nice and friendly. The atmosphere was great, nice music and relax. There’s parking facilities and also hand car wash next to the restaurant.”

“Hi, I had the most wonderful experience at Viv’s at The Grange! From the moment I walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere made me feel instantly at home. The décor is elegant and stylish without feeling pretentious — a perfect blend of comfort and sophistication. The service is absolutely excellent. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about making sure everything went smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble, and they anticipated our needs throughout the evening. Onto the food — simply divine! The menu is innovative, beautifully presented, and each dish is bursting with flavour. Ingredients are clearly high-quality, and each course was prepared with care. I especially loved the starters, which were a perfect introduction to what came next, and dessert was a treat I’ll remember for a long time. All in all, Viv’s at The Grange, Wokingham exceeded all expectations. Whether for a romantic dinner, a celebration, or just a treat — I can’t recommend it highly enough. It is important to clarify that only one room was booked, not two. Furthermore, our arrival was not at 12:30; however, the primary reason for the negative review was the perceived rudeness of the individual I spoke with over the phone. Moving forward, following my stay at the hotel on Saturday, I was granted both an early check-in and a late check-out, which was greatly appreciated. The staff demonstrated exceptional professionalism and hospitality. The hotel maintains a high standard of cleanliness and offers a diverse selection of culinary options, including a main menu and a breakfast buffet. I highly recommend this establishment and would certainly choose to stay here again. My sincere thanks to the entire team for their accommodating service.”
