“Sad to see it go. Been coming here for years and the food is always great. Always lovely to their customers.but regardless sad to see things end”
“Mum was 82 today and all staff made it so special for her Super staff super food super atmosphere”
“Great place to get timber at the right price. Everyone is incredibly helpful”
“Great walk along the river and back. Beware of the mud and very rocky paths. We were told it was a good walk for kids and buggys. It's definitely not. But lots of river views, wildlife, mini waterfalls, spooky train tunnels to walk through.”
“Very good at what they do here and reasonable price”
“Really nice, clean place the staff and management are really friendly and provide a welcoming atmosphere.”
“Wow, just enjoyed a fabulous Sunday dinner here. Sourdough bread, followed by beef cheek and topside roast beef. All delicious and full of flavours. The service was fantastic, with a great selection of wine. Intimate but comfortable atmosphere. Will be in the new year”
“Gotta say I love this shop. Its so quick and convenient... The staff are just fantastic too, always taking that extra 2 minutes to help you out if you need it.”
“For me, best cafe in Rotherham town centre. I can't comment on it as a bar (never been on an evening), but it's my go-to for a Saturday morning breakfast. Independent, friendly, good food, reasonably priced. The staff have a good rapport with regulars. Decent music a lot of the time too, which makes a nice change for cafes. I recommend their full breakfasts - I'm not a small fella, and their large breakfast is too much for me! They take card payments, but cash is preferred if possible.”
“Great little bar and bottle shop. Friendly bar staff. Great website which offers click and collect or delivery. Brilliant range of beers, ales, stouts, ciders, sours and all manner of delicious alcohol on tap, pump, cans and bottles. Nice little outside area. Really like this place.”
“Wonderful place for a long walk or hike with the feeling you're in another country (well, when it's hot). Small car bay for about 5 small cars, which quickly becomes full.”
“Lovely food and great friendly staff.”
“Very friendly and has a feel good vibe. owner is a great guy. Will be returning 100%. Thanks again, Jason Est-Dec”
“Just moved to S36 and had three excellent meals after picking up on the Google reviews. Salt & Pepper Chicken, Special Foo Yung, Mushroom Foo Yung, Pork Fried Rice. All really tasty and lovely. ☺️ Defo on the return visit list.”
“Quite a busy little local pub with a great atmosphere. Enjoyed a lovely meal there, just a simple pie chips and peas, everything seemed home made and was very tasty. Friendly and attentive staff looked after us well. I will definitely be making a return visit.”
“Really nice family run place, the Fish and Chips we had were tremendous, we’ll be using again and again. Also very safe as screens up and queues and space laid out for waiting customers.”
“Amazing ham and cheese croissant. Buttery, flakey, soft, savoury, all in one bite. 10/10”
“The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and the coffee was spot on. A special shoutout to Mischa, who was absolutely fantastic! Friendly, attentive, and full of positive energy — Mischa made the whole visit feel extra special.”
“First time that we went today, we were there 2 & a half hours, the kids (7 & 8) had a fantastic time and already want us to plan our return visit. Great environment for risky open ended play, my kids found activities that they liked doing and pushed themselves to try new things”
“Called in this morning at 7.15am. Had a large Sausage, bacon, mushroom and ketchup. Was absolutely spot on. Sausages weren't those cheapo mushy ones you often get these days, mushrooms were obviously fresh and fried. Portion was plenty big enough and at 16.43 im still here at work having not needed any lunch. Will be sneaking back in on my way to work more regular!”
“Great food produced by students & staff at RCAT.”
“I needed an international driving permit, and this was the only place that was reasonably close to me. The couple that run this place are so kind, friendly and helpful. I only wish that more shops gave such a lovely welcome and service.”
“Went to see the horizon sculptures in the parkland, apart from parking cost(£5.00)it is free. Well worth a visit.”
“We arrived here after a long walk in the heat. The lady behind the bar was friendly, accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The views were beautiful and shandy refreshing. We were so impressed we collected our car and returned for lunch and were not disappointed. Food was fresh, hot and delicious. Thank you so much. We will definitely return when we are next in the area and have already told others all about you. An exhausted Emma and Naomi xx”
“Nice trip out, forgot it was school holidays, but not too busy. Only few minutes down the road from us. Animals seem happy and well cared for. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Ample parking. Nice little gem, well worth a visit”
“Great for walking the dog, letting kids run crazy, cafe, ice creams . What more could you ask for. An update to previous review. There are new paths in place to help those with disability or parents with prams. They have cleaned around tree feature too so you can take a rest if you like.”
“Beautiful Hidden Gem in the Peak District! Absolutely stunning walk with magical scenery. The Lumsdale Waterfall trail feels like stepping into a fairytale – peaceful, atmospheric, and full of history. The walk takes you past ruins of old mills and cascading waterfalls, all tucked away in a quiet, green valley. The path is fairly easy to follow, though there are a few steep and uneven spots – good footwear is a must, especially after rain. It’s not a long walk, but there’s plenty to take in and enjoy. Great for a peaceful nature escape, photography, or a short family adventure. Parking is limited nearby, and the area is privately owned in parts, so it’s important to stick to the marked public footpaths. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Matlock area!”
“We found this place completely by accident while looking for a coffee shop and it looked so cool we had to go in and have a look! If you like old tools or trains this place is definitely worth a visit. The old workshop looks as if everyone downed tools one day and never went back”
“Beautiful bridge with good views. There are nice slots in the bridge that allow you to look at the view without getting in other people's way too.”
“Really enjoyed the food here. Upstairs restaurant nicely decorated & cosy. Miso cod was excellent & perfectly cooked rump steak. Passionfruit martini also a thumbs up!”
