Everything is very clean and well-kept, and the food and drinks are fresh and absolutely delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. Heating and air con worked perfectly lovely little welcome hamper and instructions on how to use all the amenities, spotless felt so cozy and at home absolutely perfect stay will be staying again!”

“Loved our stay here. The house is beautiful and so unique, loved the decor. We stayed in the superior king room. The owners are lovely and their dogs are very well behaved and friendly. Breakfast was nice too. There's a town within walking distance to go out for food and drinks. If we're ever back in Mansfield we'd definitely stay here again.”

“There's two cafes on site one just for the humans and one for the doggies and their human family. Its no longer a working pit. And the rewilding of the surrounding area is very well done. Because I remember it when it was black and very dusty.”

“A fantastic, proper pub with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Always a perfect pint, whether it's Guinness, lager, nitro keg bitter, or cider, and all at a very reasonable prices. The food is amazing and the Sunday carvery is without a doubt the best I've had. The prices are also really good.”

“A beautiful little hidden gem with friendly staff. The play area caters more for those 12 and under was clean and in good condition. The toilets were almost immaculate which is a rare thing for any place with lots of families visiting. The train ride although short has plenty of things to look out for as it winds it way across the Feilds. If you are near it is definitely worth a visit. I went with two teenagers and still managed to spend a good couple of hours there. As for food check the website for the menu and prices as it may not to everyone's taste BUT if you like a good traditional English breakfast you will NOT be disappointed. We will definitely be planning a return visit.”

“Very enjoyable meal best in shirebrook. Special chow mein was absolutely delicious. Hong Kong style chicken was absolutely delicious to, sauce was perfect not to bitter or to sweet, veg was cut up really small in some of the other dishes which was great, rather than great big, junks unlike other chinese takeaways, sweet and sour chicken balls were perfect not to doughy but crisp, sauce again was perfect. Salt and pepper king prawns were spicy but not to spicy veg cut finally couldn't fault this meal.”

“We came to the Ling Forest on a Monday, not only was it such a welcoming atmosphere but they also do an amazing quiz night. The staff are all so friendly and the landlord and lady cannot do enough for you. Making you feel welcome, talking to all customers and spending time getting to know them. This is why the have such dedicated regulars. It’s a truly lovely happy place to be.”

“The country park is beautiful. Sadly the cafe is unbelievably banal and lacking in healthy & tasty food, plus closes early whilst the park is still active which is a massive missed opportunity, but maybe one day we can have both! All the nature on and around the water is really wonderful.”

“Went to rose cottage last night for our lovely friends 80th birthday. Got seated on the party table, decorated for her birthday by the lovely Bev. “Visiting Mansfield for first time in many years due to a recent family bereavement, and found Lucy’s cafe very close to the bus station. Staff were really friendly, and nice welcoming feeling. Had a couple of really nice coffees, and some breakfast, all of which were lovely. Service was friendly and welcoming. Stopped by the following weekend when visiting again and will do so again when I’m next in town visiting my grandma.”

“Friendly sellers and many different Polish and Baltic States products for sale. It's not big shop but you'll see pretty much everything for daily grocery shopping. They have separate department where they sell fresh fruits and vegetables. I bought from them few times and it's good every time.”
