“Food was lovely and staff were really friendly”
“Came in on 2 seperate nights after a trip to Alton Towers, treated by some lovely staff, the food was quite enjoyable and fairly fast from ordering. Tami provided excellent service and was absolutely lovely to meet and speak too. Should.we be in the area again, we would definitely stop by again”
“Work in Stone a couple of days per week so have been coming in for my lunch. Lunchtime offers are great. Soft drink and a meal for just under 8 quid! Drink served within a couple of minutes to the table and the food is always quick as well! Longest I’ve waited is about 5 minutes for my food. Great service”
“Lovely friendly place to visit in Stafford, the new bar man with dark hair was excellent helping me choose a drink couldn’t have been more polite credit to the new landlords. Fast efficient and helpful”
“The Royal Oak is genuinely a standout spot, whether you’re stopping by for a casual meal or planning a relaxed evening out. The atmosphere has that perfect balance of cozy and welcoming, making it easy to settle in and enjoy yourself. The staff are friendly, attentive, and always make you feel taken care of without hovering. The food is especially good. Every dish feels fresh, well-seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. From classic pub favorites to more elevated specials, everything comes out with great flavor and generous portions. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. Even the smaller touches—like perfectly crisp chips or beautifully presented plates—help the whole experience stand out. Overall, The Royal Oak is the kind of place you look forward to returning to. Great food, great service, and a warm, inviting vibe make it an easy recommendation.”
“Just can't fault it The large fish and chips is amazing value, but all of our food was freshly cooked, flavoursome and piping hot. All of the staff were polite and attentive By far the best value in the area”
“Always rated Spoons beer and coffee, as we all know is great value and selection. I'm not certain about the adjacent business. Funeral Director. There was a better selection of food pre COVID-19. Chicken avacardo salad was nice, no longer available.”
“We had a lovely afternoon tea, the sandwiches were very fresh & full, beef & horseradish, tuna & sweetcorn, ham & chutney, cheese & tomato, the cakes were delicious, lemon cheesecake, banoffee, cream sponge cake, chocolate cake & taylors tea with nice friendly service in a lovely setting one of the best cream teas we have had.”
“Organised a festive menu party of 23. I & others cannot speak more highly of our satisfaction. One or two discrepancies with pre order but probably caused by ourselves with late changes. All amendments resolved without question & with an obliging smile. Food of the highest quality & service exceptional.. sincere thanks to your staff who were a credit to the hospitality sector. See you all again very soon”
“This was such a good experience and I have to thank our server, Beth for making it a jolly time. I had a dinner/lunch with my family and Beth was cracking jokes every second we talked to her. My family and I tipped her some coins and hoped we gave her quite a bit! Thank you for this amazing time, Beth, and the beefeater! x”
“Wow what a change! I absolutely LOVE everything. Food was amazing! We had the ultimate sharer that was so good plenty to share and tasted really nice love the nachos. For mains we had steaks and they came cooked to perfection and we're very tasty. For dessert we had the biscoff cheese cake and fudge cake they were very yummy! There were plenty of TVs around love the pool table and darts and I love the benches! Overall a great experience can't wait to visit again.”
“The staff were amazing and the food was fantastic. Everyone was incredibly helpful. We were there for my mum’s funeral, and I can’t praise Dan and the rest of his team enough. They were so professional and respectful throughout. The food was lovely, and everyone commented on how nice it was. The venue itself was perfect for the occasion, and I genuinely can’t fault a single thing. My only suggestion is that management should invest more in advertising, as we found this place purely by chance – and I’m so glad we did. When I first searched online for wake venues, all that came up were really expensive places that didn’t feel right. This venue only appeared when I tried searching for pubs and hoped they might host private events. Thank you, Dan and the team, for making an extremely difficult day a little easier. I will definitely be recommending you to others.”
“One of the restaurants I like to visit in the UK is the Wetherspoon chain. Delicious food at good prices. This time I wanted to try the Katsu Grilled Chiken Curry. A simple dish but full of flavor, low in calories but enough to be satisfied. The presentation is appetizing: Grilled chicken breast slices on a bed of rice, accompanied by parsley and a few pieces of chili pepper. Tucked in a delicious curry sauce. An indü taste well achieved. I recommend this delicious dish if you like to try new flavors.”
“I had the carvery for the first time yesterday. Can honestly say it was lovely, the meat was all cooked beautifully and so were the trimmings. Not small portions either. The young lady who served us on the bar, Sammie was so friendly and polite she's hands down a credit to the place and the chefs serving food were very polite aswell. The whole building is lovely and clean. I personally love the displays of all the stokie pottery.. being a stokie myself it makes me super proud to see it out on display with pride. Nice sized beer/smoking garden and a small play area indoors for children. Not too pricey and quality of the food is fantastic. They sell stunning cakes aswell which are to die for. Definitely worth trying if you haven't already you won't be disappointed. Can't recommend here enough.”
“Good food, reasonably priced, helpful staff”
“Cracking sandwich shop, great food.”
“Everyone was happy with their food, including kids and adult meals with gluten free and vegan options. Even had some live music to add to the fun. Staff lovely and very helpful. Welcomed the dog too!”
“Had the Korean bbq rib, absolutely fantastic, tender and the corn on the cob actually had flavour unlike most places!! We will definitely be having it again next time, we'll done chef Jim!!”
“Since moving to the area we have frequented this establishment numerous times. It is very clean, the staff are very friendly and efficient and we have never had a bad meal. It is certainly our favourite new local!”
“This is my 4th visit to the Pepper Mill, well travelling from Scotland on Business. The place never disappoints, so taking a small detour on my journey down south is definitely worth it. You are greeted by friendly, polite, and attentive staff, they have a great selection of food, drink and delicious desert. Caitlyn and Gemma served me with a smile, I highly recommend the hunters chicken. Open and airy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit. You will not be disappointed.”
“We stopped for a quick lunch after hospital visit. Parking was in the retail park. No disabled parking right next to it. I wasn't in a chair so hard to tell how accessible for chairs. We were seated by a friendly member of staff who was sensitive to my disability leading me to a lower bench seat. Our waitress was Charlotte who was such a friendly character who was polite and engaging. We both really enjoyed our meals. We finished off sharing a brownie dessert but sadly no pictures as it was too tempting to think about photos. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely return.”
“Lovely, friendly girl dropped off a perfect breakfast in excellent time! Lovely tasty food and incredibly hot and well packed! Will definitely be using Grillaz again!”
“It's a cool, typical English pub. It's very common to see English older people drinking beer. Good staff, the only minus is that they close early. Large selection of alcoholic beverages, and the prices are the best”
“You know what this place has changed. It went really downhill and we stopped going for many years. The new management is top dollar and they have done a proper job. The place is nice and well cleaned and the food freshly cooked to order for breakfast. I'd go back there and eat again, its cost effective and a no nonsense simple menu. It isn't a top end restaurant and doesnt elude to being so. But the display of food and the taste... well it was dot on!”
“Beautiful Family restaurant. Fresh clean lovely staff, Great menue fantastic prices, fab cocktails. Special thanks to lovely Poppy and Thea fantastic customer service from start to finish. Well done girls.”
“We both ordered a smothered platter. The steak was exceptional! Generous portions of all 3 meat. The layout/design reminded me more of a home with sofas and large spaces. It was late on a Sunday evening, yet staff was still welcoming and friendly. Perfect start for our holiday en route to the airport.”
