“We spent the weekend in Field House Cottage and enjoyed every minute. The house was well equipped, clean, and it seems like they thought about all the little details. Located in a beautiful country side area. We will recommend others who come to the Peak to spend the weekend there.”
“This place is excellent value for money. It is run by lovely people who are very eager to please. The accommodation is not luxurious but is adequate and is spotlessly clean. I would definitely recommend this place as somewhere to stay over for a short stay on a budget. Breakfast is of a good quality ,very fresh and hot and cooked well.”

“Just spent an amazing weekend there, visiting Alton Towers. Jo is a wonderful host, full of information and super dedicated to her guests. The rooms were super clean, the bathroom is spacious, and the views are beautiful, especially if you're into the whole British countryside thing. The breakfast is also nice, with great homemade Staffordshire oatcakes and local jam. Will definitely come back next time I'm at Alton Towers.”
“This is my favourite hotel I stayed at in a while, mainly due to the design of the rooms. All was very clean, the bar downstairs offers delicious food and drinks and you are one minute away from high street.”
“Can't fault the best hairdresser in town. Carol Tidyman is the best. She does my hair to perfection. Will not go to anyone else”
“Attended bridal preparations at Brookhouse and it was perfect for the occasion. The owner was very welcoming and the house had some great spaces with lots of natural light... Perfect for wedding photography”
“The food was superb. By a long way the best shooting ground cafe I've ever visited and not overly priced either. I'd definitely use them for lunch when I'm in the area even ifnim not shooting clays.”
“Fantastic service and food every time. Turkey Baps were amazing Thanks to Dave, Naomi, Ed and Gill. From all at HCVelo. Great start to festive season”
“Most delicious authentic takeaway we've ever had. Brilliant service, quick delivery, bit expensive and portion size could be better but definitely will be ordering again.”
“Really enjoyed my first experience in the salon today. Had my hair cut and coloured with Charlotte and she did exactly what I was hoping for, and I also had the glass hair treatment which was recommended and my hair feels so sleek which is something I always try to achieve.”
“I would like to say how delicious the food was and the staff were very welcoming . By far the best pub in the area . 10/10 fantastic pub”
“Outstanding. Everything spot on. Except the weather!”
“Excellent lady behind the counter and an absolutely beautiful smooth latte. Not too strong in taste and not served so hot it burns the tongue out of your mouth. Excellent.”
“Lovely cafe, the cakes and coffee are very much recommend. Very good size menu with lots of options catering for various dietary requirements. Very friendly staff. Very quick service too. Gift shop has lots of treats and a good variety of gifts. Very large area outside for enjoying the sun and relaxing with large greens for playing games and a nice children's park. The car park is pay and display.”

“It was an amazing place for a swim. Totally beautiful, I loved it. It was nice not to be time limited in the water, although at this time of year I can’t stay in for such a long time.”
“I’ve been wanting to stay at the Enchanted Village Treehouses at Alton Towers since they’ve opened, and as it was a friends birthday, 8 of us pooled together to stay in one during Oktoberfest during September 2023. I’m not going to soften the blow – this is one of, if not the most expensive accommodations on-site at Alton Towers, but was the price-tag worth it? I think it was! First off, once booked, we received all the normal confirmations as you would expect. What was nice however is we received a phone call a few days before we checked in from a very friendly woman, who explained everything we would want to know about our stay. It was a very nice personalised touch, and got us excited for the trip. Upon arrival, you get 2 reserved parking spaces at the Alton Towers Hotel which we took advantage of. As check in was at 2pm, we headed into Alton Towers in the morning and then headed back to check in. There is a specific Enchanted Village Treehouses check in area in the Alton Towers hotel, where you’re met by a member of the team who give you all the details you’ll need, keys and tell you how to get to your lodge. Once the paperwork was done, we headed to the lodge. The Enchanted Village area is car free, so we grabbed our bags and headed to the lodge. The host who checked us in stopped by to show us how everything worked, and again, this very personal touch was greatly appreciated and did elevate the experience somewhat. Upon entry, the Treehouse was impressive, with massive high ceilings and big windows overlooking the forest. There were lots of little details throughout the lodge such as little ‘fairy doors’, books for children, mugs with hot chocolate and biscuits, as well as an XBOX with games. As it was our friend’s birthday, they organised a really lovely treats hamper, including sweets, popcorn, some Wickerman goodies and a bottle of Prosecco – it was a really lovely surprise and one he hugely appreciated. The highlight however was the hot tub on the terrace overlooking the forest – it was fabulous and, in my opinion, made the price tag of the Treehouse worthwhile. There was something quite special being sat in your lovely warm hot tub sipping some bubbles overlooking the forest. The bedrooms were fairly small, but as we were staying just the one night, we didn’t spend a huge amount of time in them. As part of the package, we also got 4 Fastrack passes per person for The Smiler, Spinball Whizzer, Runaway Minetrain and Wicker Man. These do change throughout the year so the rides may be different, but this was a great bonus as it was a busy Saturday on the park. As part of the package we got breakfast in the Crooked Spoon. I’ve left a separate review of my experience at The Crooked Spoon as this was very disappointing, and did leave a sour note on the end of stay – but I feel that the Treehouse itself shouldn’t be penalised for the poor experience there. Overall, as a treat for a special occasion, the Enchanted Village Treehouses are worth it. The service, perks and location really do make a difference – and the wonderful hot tub is the cherry on the cake.”
“I enjoyed my trip with friends in the courtyard with a glass of bubbles! Would recommend Mirror Mirror 1000 times over! Excellent service and the staff are always really friendly. Always a pleasure to return here :) The owner always greets me with a smile upon entering the salon, such a chilled atmosphere.”
“Great food and staff. I had poached eggs on black pudding on an English muffin. Can't stop thinking about it!”
“Beautiful hotel set in some of the most amazing of scenery. Room was cosy and everything we could need. The staff are friendly and willing to go above and beyond to ensure your stay is exceptional. Even the local were welcoming and offered their wealth of experience and knowledge of the local area and history. The meals are priced well and prepared to an exceptional standard. They were plentiful and tasted wonderful.”
“Cafe is very dog friendly. You can take 2 dogs per person inside and staff make them very welcome. Yes you order at the till but everything is then brought to your table. The hot drinks loyalty card is a bonus, collect 6 stamps and the next hot drink is free.”
“What a lovely restaurant and lovely atmosphere! The staff are friendly and polite, the food is delicious and the servers are attentive. I had the duck mains and it was beautiful, and my friend had a vegetarian main which was also lovely. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back. Pay no attention to the reviews as the service charge is listed and the food is priced as you would expect.”
“I ordered a dog lead holder and shelf. I absolutely love it! Local business too. Highly recommended.”
