“Another town another premier inn , this time the room ( prem + ) was massive well furnished comfortable and super clean , Leanne greeted to me and was a great example of how staff are the hotel and greeted me with a warm smile and explained everything i needed to know even went and got me some Hot Chocolate which you don’t actually get in the rooms ! Again loaned me an Apple Watch charger as I’d forgotten mine as I need it as I have an app to check blood sugar ! Perfect hotel and if Leanne is anything to go by the staff will all be wonderful too”
“Lovely staff and a nice welcome. Rooms really clean and tidy. Older style but so much more space than the new one we stayed in last night. Excellent”
“Excellent holiday home. Very comfortable surroundings and the owners are lovely too. Be aware, the track to the farm is unpaved for quite a way, and a standard car may hit the road in places if not taken at a very slow pace?”
“The best and most relaxing break I've had. Our hosts thought of everything to make things easy, from the brew stuff already on site to the hot tub being ready as soon as we got there. A quiet and peaceful setting, far enough away from the hustle and bustle but not too far away.”
“Lovey place, calm environment, warm rooms especially in winter time. Host had a very cheerful welcoming came for a get away for the night definitely come back highly recommend going in the daytime to explore the areas”
“Short version: Fantastic B&B to which we'd happily return. Our hosts were exceptionally welcoming and personable and were very happy to help us out wherever they could; in my case, using the warm, dry, shed to replace a tubless bicycle tyre which had given up on the idea of retaining air inside it. The room was great and everything felt 'just so'. It's unashamedly at the more premium feeling end of the market and worth every penny of our stay there. Special mention must be made of the breakfasts which were spectacular. The continental breakfast was vast and included fruit juice, cereal, croissants, fresh fruit and toast. There is also the (additional charge) option of a Full English which is fabulous, although it may mean you don't eat very much until rather later in the day...there isn't a huge amount of plate showing between the food. Bonus points must also be awarded to the choice of putting peppercorns on the mushrooms. Pro tip 1: if you're after a cooked breakfast (and I'd urge you to at least try it once), it's a good idea to let someone know the night before so they can be prepared. Pro tip 2: Steve and Andy's local knowledge is excellent, both in terms of the eateries, but also the small roads to avoid so I'd recommend taking advantage. I did a Google check on one of them and it'd be ... interesting ... to take a car down there, especially as you're highly likely to meet a tractor coming the other way.”
“The hosts are perfect. They make your stay comfortable, and welcome you into their home like its your own. Room was clean and comfortable with everything is catered for, no matter what you might have forgotten Whendy will have it.”
“Spent a superb long weekend here, the cottages were cosy, clean and very well stocked in games and puzzles with full amenities for home cooked meals. Beautiful location with easy access for great hiking trails. Would definitely recommend!!”
“We had a really lovely birthday party here today for my 2 year old daughter. Alex and her mum couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly, and all round brilliant hosts. The children all loved the alpacas and really enjoyed feeding them. The farm is ideal for children, and the little cabin where we had our party lunch was cute and cosy! The children’s food was great quality and very generous. There was also hot drinks for the adults included. We absolutely loved our day and didn’t want to leave! A fun, interesting and outdoorsy children’s party with a difference - would totally recommend! We’ll be back to see you soon, thanks so much for everything, our little girl loved her birthday with you :)”
“I’ve had the pleasure of spending 6 weeks at this wonderful place Claire n Brandon have been fantastic hosts the rooms are very clean very warm have facilities in there rooms en-suite There home is fantastic the breakfasts are amazing Thank u both for your hospitality I’m gonna miss u all See you soon too”
“AMAZING!! I booked The old Parlour and Cow Shed to come with some of my closest friends to celebrate my 40th Birthday. The barns are beautiful and they have thought of all the tiny details. The bath house toiletries in particular smell incredible! They provided milk, tea and coffee to get us started as well as bath robes. We chose to add a booking on with Georgie and Co who came to the barns to provide us all with treatments. It was the best massage I’ve had in quite some time! I would highly recommend booking if you want to add some relaxation to your stay. I can’t wait to visit again! x”
“Had a fabulous overnight stay at Cul Mor absolutely perfect, lovely and quiet rural location with great opportunities for walking to explore local area & nature reserve which we loved. Susan has thought of everything needed for your stay with a fabulous eye for attention to detail and spotless. Thank you for your welcome.”
“Amazing little guest house. Room was very clean complimentary shower gel and shampoo was a nice little suprise. Room was very well equipped with hair dryer ironing board and good wifi connection. Perfect location for exploring ilam park and Thorpe Cloud and the Roaches. Also near Haddon Hall Chatsworth House and Bakewell just a short 30 min drive away. Hosts were lovely and breakfast was amazing. I am a celiac and they were more than happy to cater for me. Leek itself is a lovely little market town with plenty of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs and nice independent shops which was very refreshing. Would definately recommend and would stay again.”
“We had a lovely stay at the Pamper Van, it had beautiful scenery, a lovely host, the Van has excellent cleanliness and the host left us treats (bread, muffins, milk, Prosecco, a range of teas and coffees). The hot tub was gorgeous, and the Van was in a great location, super close to really nice pubs! Thanks for our stay! X”
“Fabulous family weekend spent in the converted pub. Our second visit. Its been revamped since we last stayed. Downstairs was great, Really well stocked kitchen. Comfy lounge, great bar area. Fantastic family area. Bedrooms, lack a little luxury. No full length mirror. No hooks for towels anywhere. Bathrooms tiny and unpleasant drain smell due to saniflow I suspect. However perfectly usable and great power shower if not compact in size! Loads of cobwebs and spiders in our room so the corners and windows in room and bathroom had definitely been missed. Bed super comfy and bedlinen lovely. There was only one side table by the bed even though room for two and our TV wouldn't work. We spent limited time in the room so it didn't matter. We would 100% return again.”
“Best place for refreshments, good communicate staff, lovely helping nature , pool is wonderful and around lake area is very beautiful, Nice exp!”
“This is my favourite hotel I stayed at in a while, mainly due to the design of the rooms. All was very clean, the bar downstairs offers delicious food and drinks and you are one minute away from high street.”
“Attended bridal preparations at Brookhouse and it was perfect for the occasion. The owner was very welcoming and the house had some great spaces with lots of natural light... Perfect for wedding photography”
“I've stayed here twice & would highly recommend it, Rural location (on a farm), en-suite accommodation with access to a fully equipped kitchen. The accommodation is located in a separate detached building, which is next to the farmhouse. It's very clean & a freshly cooked to order break to set you up for the day. There's plenty of parking, I once turned up in a very large van & parked no problem.”
“This place is lovely. We reserved two of the units - The Smithy and The Pump House. The Pump House is dog friendly. The units are well furnished and comfortable. The rooms are finished around what appear to be the original beams. I can confirm their very solid authenticity having verified it with my head on my very first morning. Lesson leaned. Both kitchens were very nice and well appointed. I wasn’t super impressed with the pots and pans but I managed. We made use of the games and puzzles. We will definitely be back. The area is beautiful. The cows are curious. The dog was very happy. The local area has lots to offer.”
“Beautifully kept site and lovely people. Best breakfast bap on the planet! Plenty of space for the tent and motorcycle, very highly recommended. Thanks guys!”

“Nice quirky place to have a drink and something to eat. The place itself was clean and presented well. Staff were friendly and polite and made you feel welcome.”
“What a wonderful stay we had at The Tawny. We were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and wanted somewhere special, where we could relax in nature. The meet and greet was great with Darren taking us to the Glade shepherd hut.A charming guy and extremely friendly. The service throughout was attentive but unpretentious We were particularly impressed with front of house during our 2 evening meals in the Plumbicorn restaurant. A very special location with very special service.Thankyou. Lynda and Martin Moulds”
“Needed hotel as visiting family near by, this was in an excellent location. Alsager is a lovely town, we visited a lovely bakers and had a lovely lunch. Also pubs and couple of restaurants nearby for evening meals. If you like national trust, there's a quaint place called Little Morton Hall worth a visit. The hotel was run by lovely people, and the breakfast can't be faulted. We will definitely stay there again”
“Friendliest staff ever! So many laughs with Pauline! What a legend! Such good food! Clean and fresh rooms! What a great place to drop in to for a night and be treated so well!”
“Me and my daughters visited this wildlife park and it was a wonderful visit. The animals all look well cared for with plenty of space to move. The accessibility for wheelchair users was fantastic. Platforms made it easy to view animals and the walk around areas were not too small. Information about each animal was clear and easy to understand for younger children. There was an option to feed wallabies or deer, we opted for wallabies and were amazed when a joey popped its head out of its mom's pouch. Although my daughters are adults, the play area was fantastic, we would have definitely spent a fair while there when they were younger. Definitely a place to visit. If there were any recommendations for the park, it would be to have some Makaton signs by the enclosures.”
“My son and I stopped here for a night for a few days walking in the Peaks. I stayed here when I was on a school walking trip and enjoyed it then as we walked from Hostel to hostel. I was certainly not disappointed with this visit either, it's such a historic building with all it's character and charm kept, well done YHA. The Hall is super with lots of rooms to chill in, great choice of food and drinks on offer. The staff were really friendly and helpful and kept us informed of the hostels amenities. The choice of food and good selection for breakfast was great. The rooms were clean and well catered for, we stopped in a private room which had its own shower and sink in the room which was good in the coach house. The hostel is well situated in a lovely quiet area and village with a choice of walks from the front door.”
