“I had my moms wake there and the landlord was brilliant he couldn't do enough for me. Its what I would describe as a proper pub with friendly locals.”
“Brilliant pub, friendly and welcoming and old school.”
“Brilliant friendly atmosphere, great landlords and a bostin drink at very reasonable prices, Keep up the good work”
“Very warm welcome from the staff and a great location for this for this very charming hotel. I found the decor fascinating with an eclectic mix of paintings, statutes and vintage furniture in every corner and wall. Our double on suite room was finished off with a very comfy 4 poster bed! The staff can't do enough for you, everything is just an as away. The manager (Martin) was very professional and looked after us throughout.”
“Visited just for evening meal. Very good, and reasonably priced. 11 in the party, service and little slow”
“booked in on the way up last minute as did not know what time I would arrive, Receptionist on the phone was excellent and answered all my questions. Arrived and was greated with a nice smile and was shown the room which was comfortable and clean, Went down and enjoyed a lovely duck breast with rice and a nice pint. Location is great just off the motorway . Totally diamond of a find would highly recommend this as a stop over.”
“Beautifully located on the banks of the River Severn, however, nasty winding lane passing Severn Valley Railway to access the pub. Standard pub grub elevated to meet dietary requirements. Even making homemade onion rings in gluten free batter! Great prices for the standard of food. They could easily charge much more. Eat inside or out on the deck. Help yourself to cutlery and condiments, pay at the bar and take a numbered spoon to your seat. Friendly atmosphere. Great, safe play area for children and pygmy goats to say hello to. Food was such good value and quality that we went back the following week to eat again!”
“Cosy little pub Great atmosphere Family friendly Pets allowed Decent cobs on sale Slightly more expensive than other pubs in the area (not the best range of drinks) Overall Good experience will return!!”
“Really nice atmosphere staff really friendly. Good stock of whiskey good real ale. Coffee smells amazing - the good was fantastic really tasty. Have been wanting to pop in since they renovated the pub.”
“Superb eatery in the centre of Bridgnorth. Much more than just pizzas. The food was amazing and our two waitresses were brilliant. Great value meals, especially at lunchtimes. Pay them a visit, you won't regret it! If you found this review/photos helpful, please click the like or helpful button. Thanks.”
“*Update* - Had lunch there again today. Really lovely experience, thanks to Tonya. We had the lamb rump, fish and chips and the sweetcorn fritters. Such friendly service! Absolutely recommend! Really great find, just outside Cannock on the A5. Awesome parking (lots of disabled parks and parks for people with kids). Very friendly staff, great menu, very clean and welcoming. More like a restaurant than a pub (in a good way) but has a really well stocked bar, which I'm sure you could enjoy sitting up there with a cocktail or two. Dog friendly, in a sectioned area (which is great for those of us with dogs and also for those not wanting to dine around dogs). Toilets were clean and presentable. The food was very good, we had the chicken supreme, the corn fritters and a steak. All were really excellent. The service is efficient and professional, we had Steph & Suzie looking after us. We will definitely be back!”
“Great atmosphere, drinks and food was spot on would highly recommend”
“The food was excellent. We had breakfast and could not have wished for tastier food. We were the only people in the restaurant, but it did mean we were served very quickly! A lovely venue in a lovely location.”
“Came here for a pub tea after a busy day. Pub was small but cosy with a good atmosphere. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was really nice, hot and plenty of choice on the menu! Really worth a stop for some food and a drink or two!”
“Had a lovely carvery for mom & dad's 76th wedding anniversary with the family Plenty of parking space. Eady access to the pub. Had an alcove of the pub to ourselves. Staff were very accommodating & service was with a smile. Meat was plentiful, mash, roastas & yorkies were delicious my only gripe would be that there was only a small selection of veg. Gravy was delicious plenty of condiments too. We will definately eat at the castle again so would definitely reccomend oh & the prices are also very reasonable. Dad loves Guinness & is really fussy the Castle is the only pub in Wolverhampton that he has enjoyed it, which is always a bonus.”
“Great value sunday dinner to take away, lovely home cooked dinner, tasty and such a good price. Food ready at time agreed pub has a lovely atmosphere and friendly helpful staff. Will be visiting again.”
“The staff here are incredibly friendly and genuinely kind—some of the best you’ll ever meet. I visited a year ago and came back to the same great experience. The person who served us went above and beyond to accommodate my allergies, helping me use the allergy filter on their website and coordinating closely with the kitchen. I truly felt cared for, and I’ll definitely be returning whenever I’m in the area”
“I had a meal at Wrottesley Arms today and had a fantastic experience. The food was delicious and well-prepared, but what really made our visit special was the outstanding service from our waitress, Tina. She was exceptionally friendly and polite, always wearing a smile .Tina went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and ensured we had everything we needed. No job was too big or too small for her, and her attentiveness really stood out. Highly recommend visiting for great food and excellent service.I will definitely be returning back here Soon!”
“Great little pub reasonable prices, welcoming staff. Facilities, snooker table darts and a function room which can be booked for all occasions. Membership required but small annual fee”
“The posada is a stunning Victorian era pub with mostly original interior, including tiled walls and bar fittings. The pub is of national importance. There is an excellent selection of beers larger and cider, including four hand pulled cask conditioned real ales, which were in excellent condition when we called in. There is an outside seating area behind the pub. Regularly featured in the Camra Good Beer Guide. A great pub highly recommended.”
“You will enjoy this lovely bar. Restaurant. We called in for dinner. The food was exceptiinal. Many srlections of beers lagers and wines. Landlord welcomed us, reminding us that a welcome smile and chat is still available in pubs in this area Hope you try tgere veggue ootiins. I am not a veggie but it seemed a waste not to try domething differrnt. Just guve it ago and enjoy a relaxing evening or weekend treat. And best of all Great value for exceptiinal Food Drink and a welcoming smile. Thanks again. The people from Spain.”

“Food was so good, really enjoyed everything. The atmosphere is lovely and cosy. You feel welcomed as soon as you step in... Lovely little countryside pub with a beautiful rear view...”
“Visited today with a large group for a birthday celebration and we were really pleased with our choice. Service is absolutely fantastic as usual and they were so patient with the kids and changes to the order. Food was fast, hot and tasty. They cater to gluten free really well so that set my mind at ease for my daughter. Great interior and decor, and clean everywhere in arrival with a lovely welcome sign for my other half’s birthday. Lovely little oasis in Wolves, recommend to anyone wanting a great value meal in a relaxed environment.”
“Lovely meal for my Birthday today. Chose from the Sunday menu and had a couple of glasses of wine. First time coming here and I was not disappointed. Great service, lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent. Would definitely come again.”
“A good place to spend a Saturday night in atmospheric local village pub.”
“Can't comment on food as we popped in for a quick drink, nice and clean throughout. Not bad prices, more expensive than some but cheaper than many others. Barmaid was welcoming, customers friendly enough and free jukebox with a good selection of music.”
