“Went in on a Sunday. Place was busy but they were still able to get us a table. Food was amazing all around. Staff and service was great as well. I will definitely be back again. Would recommend to anyone to pop in for some food...its well worth it”
“We have been going here 10 years now and we love it,friendly staff..quick..always clean and presentable! The food is outstanding for the price..honestly I don't think you will find better value!”
“Food was incredible, great portions, definitely be back!”
“We have been eating here for many many years and the food is beautiful, the staff are brilliant and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. Sitting outside when the sun is out is the best! Inside you are greeted with historical items of belfast which is really great to look at! The drinks are great and well priced and the food quality is just great for the price. We all love this location and cannot wait to return on Monday :))”
“Who knows, maybe I caught it on a great night, incredible menu, phenomenal steak and amazing "simply chocolate" dessert. Arguably the best steak I've had in Belfast...charred and flavourful. Staff were also attentive and super nice!”
“Very tasty burgers, I had the one with fired Camembert. It was delicious! And not to mention the sweet potato fries sent me to heaven. Warmly recommend this place. Book upfront! I was alone and they made exception to accommodate me on one bar table.”
“Heard good things and it lived up to the hype. Vibrant atmosphere (piled up after we arrived), and the food was plentiful, reasonably priced and tasty. Service was quick and there were no delays getting the bill. The only gripe is the coke is minimal per glass. Overall, a worthy stop for a decent lunch.”
“We ate in Deanes Meat Locker however we had the menu from the new Mr Deanes. Fantastic service are really good food, reasonably priced given the quality of the offerings. Well worth a visit. The fish and chips are without doubt the best around. Melt in the mouth large haddock fillets, good quality tartar sauce and excellent chips (if any little over seasoned)”
“Was looking for a good Sunday lunch in Belfast and saw a review for McHughs and thought we would try it. We didn’t have a booking and they managed to fit us in. The Sunday beef roast was fantastic alongside the Guinness. Highly recommended and will visit again when back in the city”
“For all my jokes and upon reflection, this place was very good! The steak was very tender, mash and cabbage were buttery and indulgent and chips (for their size) were nice and crispy! I understand that part of the appeal of this place is that you finish your steak how you like on the hot stone. But for me, paying £70 for the chateaubriand, I would’ve liked the option for the chef to have cooked it for us. I would’ve like a bit of butter or oil, to assist with the cooking but other than that, jt was perfectly fine. It does get very hot, very smoky and you do leave smelling of steak”
“Wow. A fantastic Italian. Every time I go here I'm impressed with the service but most of all the food. I had a tomato based dish (sorry can't remember which!) and it was out of this world. The meatballs starter was seriously tasty too. Goats cheese polenta which we've had before is very good too. My partner had carbonara and was less impressed - she said it was OK but not amazing. However that's her experience and mine was epic so giving this five stars. They do the best 0% beer - Heineken - on draft. Best 0% beer I've ever tasted. They even do gluten free pasta. If you're into Italian food, I don't think you'll be disappointed (although I've never been to Italy so take that with a grain of salt maybe!)”
“Tried this for the first, second and third time; the food has been consistently outstanding. Large premises but don't let that put you off, needs more people for an atmosphere. I would recommend the chicken tikka shalzlek or lamb hot pot, tandoori king prawns are also a hit alongside the pishwari naan. Service was great. Fantastic authentic Indian”
“It was over 40 years since I was in Belfast and was delighted to see the huge changes that have happened since that time. Flame is a perfect example of these changes. Received excellent service and was very happy with the quality, quantity and price of my meal. Best wishes for the future.”
“We stopped in Belfast on our way from the East Coast to West coast just to eat at this restaurant. Beautiful space with a lovely staff. Every item has a gluten free option. The food was not only stunning but absolutely delicious. We had he oysters, salmon gravlax, burrata and the Sunday roast- with beef and with chicken. Let me tell you, the chicken was the best we’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked with extra crispy skin. This place is worth the stop. Highly highly recommend visiting on your next time in Belfast or just passing through.”
“Went here for dinner tonight for the first time and I was blown away. From walking in the door, the staff were lovely and professional. The lady who served us was amazing and made us feel welcome. She made our cocktail drinks and they were some of the best we have had. The food was extraordinary and the menu had so many good choices that it was difficult to pick what to eat. Thanks so much, would recommend to anyone!”
“Great steaks and the suef and turf hit it out of the park. Take your family or dinner date here to seal the deal. (Wink). The desserts were great as well. We ordered a variety of drinks and all were very good. For the price the whiskey flights are a great deal. We enjoyed the 12 year old flight and can say the third variety will be bought as a bottle to consume back home. The interior of the place is exceptionally clean and well put together.”
“The food was fantastic and so was the service! It was a quiet evening so we were able to enjoy the food in our own pace, and even the cocktails were great! We probably had one of the best fish & chips in while here, so make sure to give it a visit in your Belfast trip!”
“Great place for food though it was a bit slow turning up. Tasty food and reasonably priced. Staff friendly and helpful. All in all I would definitely recommend.”
“First time I’d been here and not disappointed. It was a group dinner, 50 or so of us, and everything was delivered swiftly, all the mains were hot, all the puddings hot or cold as they should be, and everything looking as fresh as though it was the only meal they’d prepared. It was all delicious and very well cooked and presented. The atmosphere was beautifully calm for such a large area and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Although we were in a big group I felt as personally cared for and valued by the staff as though I was the only person there, and others in the group agree. Highly recommended, and a big thank you to all the lovely staff.”
“Lovely bar/restaurant, food is amazing and good range of cocktails and drinks. Staff are friendly and helpful. It does get quite busy and it's not the biggest so heads up for anyone with wheelchairs/walking aids.”
“Went to the Wildflower for Sunday lunch today. Despite the website advertising that the 2-course pensioners menu is available every day, it's actually only served Wed - Saturday. Turned out to be fortunate for us though. Cannot rate the food highly enough. Delicious! Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely ambience & we were lucky enough to get a table beside the log burner. We will be back.”
“Lovely place seen on social media and rarely they live up to a description. But it did, very friendly staff, we arrived just before lunch but they allowed us to order early from that menu. Food was excellent and I doubt you’d go home hungry from it. Well priced too. Well done”
“This is our second visit and we will be back on our annual trip to NI. Such good portions and food so tasty ! Plenty of flavour. Guinness on tap too”
“Such a lovely place. Everything was so beautiful, good and cosy. The food was spectacular. All the waitress were so attentive and nice specially Joanna who was so proactive and friendly. We really recomend going and have breakfast there :)”
“Great cocktails good priced 2 for £13, was unreal and a great price hard to get nice cocktails and food theses days that are reasonably priced will defo be back”

“The BEST kebab in Belfast! I did the giant Donor kebab on Naan bread. Oh my God was it amazing. Great sauces, hand made bread and a ton of food. Very good.”
“Absolutely brilliant experience. The service was first class and the food even more so. Portions were generous and the prices were great. Not our first time here and won't be the last.”
“This is my favourite restaurant in Belfast for a special meal. Food is so fresh and flavours perfectly balanced. Wine selection also excellent. Don’t skip the bread - this is so light and fluffy, it might be my favourite part of the meal every time.”
“I don’t come to Northern Ireland very often but when I do I always park in Lisburn. My colleagues recommended The Cardan and I must say I have not been disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing, well cooked and excellently presented. From the moment I walk in I am made to feel welcome. Something you don’t get from a lot of places. If I was to recommend anywhere to eat and drink it would be The Cardan. Fantastic place to meet, eat and drink. Thank you to all the management and staff for making this an ideal venue.”
