“Nice atmosphere, well run with great staff. Ideal if you want to sit with friends and chat without too much distraction and noise. Great selection of drinks.”
“The Dog Inn was recommended by another pub landlord as they were not offering food and the recommendation was on the nose. The food at the Dog Inn is exceptional. We went for a ate afternoon meal on a Friday so there were a number of patrons, however the service was quick and polite. They offer a standard menu as you would expect, with a specials board as well as a pasta of the week and soup of the day. We opted for the latter 2 options as they were Chicken and Chorizo bake and a mixed vegetable soup (which the waitress advised was very nice and the staff we all having it!). Both were absolutely exquisite. The soup was a large portion server with 3 slices of crusty bread and ample butter, which was more than enough for my fiance. Whilst the pasta was equal parts beautifully cooked pasta shells and protein, all loving topped with a thick layer of cheese and server with 3 pieces of homemade crusty garlic bread. All of this (2 meals) and 3 drink between us cost just under £30 total so it it also extremely good value for money. The pub itself is beautifully presented, with ample indoor seating spread across a number of rooms, outdoor seating to the left and rear of the premises, wrap around parking and guest rooms.”
“Great little pub. Staff happy to wait at table, at least during pandemic. Be nice if that continues! Was served a cloudy pint, which obviously happens from time to time, but it was replaced without quibble. Some nice comfy chairs at one end of the pub.”
“Went here with my son for a carvery and I must say it was very flavoursome and I enjoyed it,the food was plentiful for the price.I couldn't eat all mine so I asked for a container to take it home and nothing was to much trouble for the staff. So if you want a nice carvery please do pop down and see them.”
“Lovely pub, first time visiting. Friendly professional staff, food on point and great atmosphere. Will visit again soon.”
“My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at the Island Inn. I ordered the goat curry, and my wife selected the vegetarian curry. We were both thoroughly impressed with our meals, which were well-presented and served concurrently. The service was excellent, and the staff were delightful.”
“The food was absolutely delicious, we came for my partners parents birthdays/retirement dinner. I had the crab arancini and was absolutely blown away, I can confidently say it was the best arancini I’ve ever had. The filet steak was superb, as a chef myself, it was cooked to perfection. Sadly I only snapped two photos of the food I had however, the pizzas are incredibly big and fresh! No complaints from the nine of us dined together. The liquor “safe” has an exquisite range and honestly wish I lived locally as I’d visit weekly!”
“Held my husbands wake here. The hot and cold buffet that Jon put on was amazing definitely value for money and the cakes were delicious. Thank you”
“I can’t believe I have almost lived in Kiddy for two years & yet hadn’t tried this place until today! I’m so glad I did! We had a korma, butter chicken, garlic naan & rice. Everything was delicious! We didn’t have to wait too long & it arrived hot! I thoroughly enjoyed every single bite - and personally I found the portion sizes perfect, especially for such brilliant prices! We also got a Negroni & White Russian. The food menu is impressive but the cocktail menu is crazy! The interior design is also very groovy, I’m a big fan. I’m already planning my next visit! P.S they do delivery too!”

“Cheap prices, good range of drinks, great people and brilliant staff. Great tasting food. Excellent atmosphere. Good place for everyone. Even your favourite pet pup is aloud. Always a laugh.”
“Had just flown/took train all the way from Vancouver and felt absolutely horrid. It was late and we were hungry and not in the best of moods....our server Christian turned it all around for us with his amazing attitude and spectacular service! We are dairy free and this is usually a challenge wherever we go...but not here. Fantastic options were already available and then he went the extra mile speaking to the chef and making notes on our Hyatt room to ensure we were well cared for during our stay. Really delicious proper fish and chips and kind care made all the difference. Slept like lambs after all that. Very grateful.”
“Love this place. Food and drink good quality and price very reasonable. Worth a visit and always appears busy when I visit.”
“We had a good experience at The Penny Black in Tamworth! After an afternoon of shopping, we popped in for a bite to eat and easily found a table and were quickly served at the bar. We enjoyed watching the football game while savoring two rare steaks cooked perfectly, a mixed grill, and three delicious fudge cakes. The food was served promptly and tasted great. I recommend this place for good food and efficient service.”
“Such a nice place after the refurbishment. Friendly, welcoming staff and Sandra is working so hard to make this pub an asset to the local community. Large function room which is available for a host of events.”
“Great beer lovely pork and stuffing bap just a shame the roast potatoes let it down. Staff were all super efficient and welcoming. Defiantly recommend this place for real ale and atmosphere.”

“A lovely small and cozy pub. We popped in for a few drinks before a curry and ended up going back after the curry. Good friendly service and a great atmosphere. Not sure if they do food as we only popped in for drinks.”
“Excellent dining experience. From the moment of walking in through the door and being greeted by staff. Our experience has been memorable. Staff were incredibly friendly, hospitable, attentive and detail orientated. food looked and tasted phenomenal, presentation was very unique and well put together . 'Premier Indian Dinning' experience it was indeed.”

“Popped in today lovely people, very friendly, quick service, very clean and good quality food at a good price”
“We booked for Christmas Day. The service was great, there was enough staff around if we needed assistance. Cameron was fab and happy to help with any queries. The food was hot and served with enough time between courses. A few more carrots/parsnips would have been nice, I only had 2 pieces of carrot and 1 parsnip and roast potatoes could be improved they tasted like ‘aunt Bessie’s’ but overall a great experience.”
“Namco Funscape Tamworth: A Sensory Odyssey Six out of Five Stars (Must be Experienced) Forget your sensible, minimalist leisure activities. If you are looking for tranquility, low-key lighting, or subtle décor, please turn your sensible saloon car around right now. Namco Funscape Tamworth is not here for subtlety; it is here for maximalist, unadulterated, glorious FUN. It’s less a venue, and more a vibrant, electric explosion of pure entertainment energy. From the moment you step onto the carpet—a geometric marvel that perfectly camouflages three decades of soft drink spills and ambition—you are enveloped in a sensory blitzkrieg. The air is thick with the scent of popcorn, industrial-strength floor cleaner, and a hint of ozone from the overworked prize claw machines. The soundscape is a triumphant symphony of 8-bit chip tunes, the crash of falling pins, and the collective, desperate whirring of air hockey tables. This is not noise, my friends; this is authentic atmosphere. The Sanctity of the Arcade The arcade section is a museum of coin-operated history, yet somehow every cabinet is still demanding your attention, flashing with a reckless disregard for epilepsy warnings. You will spend hours, and approximately the cost of a small, pre-owned vehicle, pursuing the pointless, glorious accumulation of paper tickets. This is a pilgrimage, a quest for the ultimate reward: a plastic spider ring, a sticky hand, or a pencil topper that costs roughly 5,000 times its retail value in sunk credit. We salute this irrational economic system. It is perfection. The Lanes of Legend The bowling area is immaculate, in the most Tamworth way possible. The hired shoes—truly the peak of mid-20th-century athletic footwear—are practically a fashion statement, hinting at the athletic prowess you're about to unleash. The lanes themselves are fast, true, and possibly possess a slight, undetectable tilt designed purely to challenge the physics of your spin. A perfect strike here feels less like a sport and more like winning a highly personalized battle against gravity and fluorescent lighting. Necessary Fuel The food is exactly what you want: unapologetic, perfectly greasy, and delivered with the speed of a well-oiled machine. It’s fuel for the next round of air hockey, designed to maximize your sugar rush and maintain peak concentration for the highly complex task of guiding a plastic ball through a clown’s mouth. It is the gastronomic equivalent of the entire venue: loud, fun, and utterly essential. Go to Namco Funscape. Embrace the glorious chaos. Allow the neon lights to heal your soul. If you leave without a massive novelty slushie and at least one sticky wristband, you haven't lived.”
“Loved it here, staff were very friendly and happy to help with anything we asked for. Food was amazing! With nice big portions and a fantastic price. Plenty of seating with an upstairs as well, that opens up into an outside eating area, will be fantastic for the summer!”
“Fantastic Pub. Been going here since a child. Atmosphere is still fantastic.”
