“We're in Brighton for our summer holiday and since we're zero-waste-fans from Cologne, I was keen to visit the "Store next door". The journey by bus uphill from the city centre was more than worth it!!! My daughter had lots of fun to watch the peanut butter machine do its magic and to go to the basement and look around. I also liked that they sell local and handmade products like the Brighton socks which I bought as a useful souvenir:) I can also highly recommend the whole neighborhood. We meant to stop real quick at the "Store", but there were so many different tiny shops that attracted our attention, we probably spent more than two hours in the Fiveways area :)”
“Love their margarita pizza and loaded fries - piping hot on collection (which was btw v quick!) and super tasty! Really recommend!”
“We stopped in for coffee and wished we had more time for breakfast. We enjoyed Turkish coffee and Turkish tea. Both were absolutely fantastic! The service was super personal, it truly gave the café vibe. It felt more like I was surrounded by locals and not just tourists. I recommend and wish we had found it sooner.”
“Staff were so so so lovely Coffee was delicious and really massive! Yummy cake, but be careful they are addictive ;)”
“Great shop in the middle of brighton and hove. Deceptively large and has everything one could want. The staff in here are friendly and knowledgeable and there are more tills here than you can poke a stick at. The self service ones at least, but noone really wants manned tills anyway, too much conversation for my liking. Anyway I digress, great shop and good selection of flowers also”
“Enjoy the friendly atmosphere and service of a small local business. Palate Bottle Shop offers a fine selection of wines, spirits and ales as well as expert advice on which is most suitable for your needs and pleasure. Not only will you find a treat for yourself but you will be supporting a local independent business and one of my favourite shops.”
“We have been going every weekend since they opened. Perfectly placed on our dog walk along the South Downs Way. Excellent coffee with a cheeky bacon sandwich never goes amiss. Sausage rolls come highly recommended. Duncan and Alison are very friendly, providing a welcome interlude on our long walks.”
“For me this is the definition of a hidden gem, a nice, quiet, unassuming cafe with a very homely feeling. Every time we visit, it feels like we're back in Japan. Everything is homemade, tasty but also healthy. We always have something savoury and sweet because we don't want to miss out and the matcha late is also great.”
“I feel fortunate to have a wonderful place like Semola in my neighbourhood! They serve delicious, authentic Italian dishes that are always satisfying. The atmosphere is cozy, chic, yet incredibly inviting—it's like being at home! The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel completely at ease. With a relaxed vibe and an open kitchen, dining here feels like joining an Italian family for a meal. Every visit is such a delightful experience!”
“A little over 7£ for two pastries. We got almond croissant and a fruit danish, both tasted divine. Theres a layer of what tastes like evaporated milk in the middle of the pastry layers which elevates them to the next level. Very impressed.”
“This is a great place to bring the kids for lunch. They have delicious ice creams. Also the portions are good sized. It’s not expensive at all and it’s quite tasty. The people are quite nice, accommodating and really friendly. It’s right in the park and next to the paddling pool so the kids can have loads of fun here, you can really spend the day, and have loads of fun recommended.”
“Found this cafe in The Lanes when looking for a nice breakfast before the drive home after staying at the Leonardo hotel. Cracking little place, great coffee and pastries. Excellent, friendly service.”
“Best place to order exactly what you want and fresh Staff are lovely too”
“Such a gem, went with a group of bikers and had a great time. Service is fast and friendly and the food is just awesome. The brunch burger is the winner for me every time, a full English in a bun, heaven.”
“Amazing food (highly recommend the Italian toastie), amazing iced coffees and amazing cakes to top it all off. Great location in the heart of the lanes with a wonderful atmosphere, super quick friendly service, couldn’t recommend more”
“I love it here. Such a beautiful place. Gorgeous decor and attention to detail such as the crockery used. The food is very tasty. We had quiche and salads which were delicious. A good selection of tasty breakfast and brunch options. Perhaps a little on the pricey side but still reasonable and worth it for the quality and overall experience I would say.”
“A quick stay in Brighton meant a google search for somewhere to get breakfast. Lucky for us we came across CoffeetZar. What a wonderful friendly welcome, lovely bright fresh decor ,exceptional coffee & loads of delicious looking food choices. I had the Greek yoghurt with granola ,sour cherries & honey. And oh my!. My husband had a more traditional choice. Both delicious and good value. Couldn’t resist a couple of homemade treats for the long drive home either.”

“We sat out on the deck as it was a beautiful evening. Very friendly staff, a broad menu including plenty of veggie and vegan options. Well priced and delicious. Also loved the complimentary pizza bread sticks and red pesto while we were deciding what to order. £27pp inc a tip, for a pizza and 175ml glass of wine.”
“Excellent find. Breakfast meals were very good. We would definitely recommend this place for breakfast.”
“A true gem of a market. Small, but I picked up the most divine chilli oil & glorious gluten free & vegan deserts which were so delicious! Highly recommend this market.”
“Have just returned from enjoying the tastiest breakfast here! We were looking for somewhere do friendly for myself, my parents and my brother and his partner to meet and catch up but we were hoping to bring our 10 month old German Shepherd pup too. They couldn't have been more chilled and accommodating if they tried. Firstly, the staff were so lovely and friendly, super chilled with Bella, bringing her a bowl of water when we arrived and so kind when she wasn't totally aware how much space her puppy butt was taking up. The food was amazing, the smoothies tasted great and when we ordered a sausage for the pup, it was provided in a cute lil cup of her own and helped keep laying down and learning to be calm in public places. I ordered the chorizo eggs (Photo) and I would wholeheartedly recommend. We will absolutely be returning in the near future!”
“The loveliest cafe in Lewes, amazing coffee and extremely tasty food. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming. Couldn’t reccomend enough, I always stop by here whenever I’m in town!”

“We love Ground, it's our favourite local coffee shop! The new location is great and the fact that they now do brunch is brilliant, we tried it for the first time today and the ultimate bacon butty is possibly the best bacon butty I've ever had. Coffee from Pharmacie Coffee Roasters is delicious and well prepared, and the staff here are always friendly. There aren't many places you can get coffee and brunch for £10. Just a lovely atmosphere, nice music and chilled vibes, a great coffee shop.”
“One of my favourite brunch haunts in Brighton, this place is always bustling and rightly so. Delicious brunch options, tasteful vibrant decor and a bakery where custom where customers can purchase anything from sourdough to a brioche. Recommended!”
“Can’t believe it’s taken me so long to eat here after walking past it so many times! Without a doubt, the best Mexican food Imve had in Brighton. I had the pork pabil tacos and they were so juicy and packed with flavour. Friendly service and will definitely be returning!”
“A lovely chilled place to have breakfast and a good cup of coffee. The café has a nice feel, the cooked breakfast we each had was lovely and the service was excellent. Would definitely return.”
“My guests could not stop complimenting on the food, the presentation and taste of everything the Dough Box prepared for our eurovision party. Look forward to the next event in August!! Thank you!”
