“It makes me wonder why some people would right a bad review about the staff at Budgens in Hove as they are very friendly and helpful at all times. I often watch the staff help customers getting in and out of the shop when the customer is disabled. They help mothers with prams, dog owners they often give treats for their pets. A few people like to yell and make themselves a ruddy nuisance, but they take the blunt end of it, and don't put fuel on the fire. I am always greeted by Joseph like he is one of my family, smiling and helpful; even when he is worn out at the end of his shift he is kind and helpful. That takes a lot of spirit to be this way. Some people are very jumpy, over the top with alcohol or drugs, but hey, the staff at Budgens take it in their stride. God bless to them with so much heart”

“As a vegetarian family, they have everything we need. Excellent quality vegetables, a large selection of kefirs and yogurts. Great prices with the Tesco card. Exceptionally friendly service, just like shopping at a family-owned store. No lines, a peaceful shopping experience without crowds or searching for products. A small, friendly shop.”

“Great Tesco with a huge range of food. Use daily as it’s a short walk from work. Fresh salad bar is great for a healthy lunch, staff have always been very helpful and the petrol station is a bonus for getting all the chores out the way in one go. Highly recommended. Hairdressers, WHSmith,pets corner, Holland & Barret and Costa are all under the same roof too.”

“It's such an intense experience going into this shop, when a beginner cooking in Chinese/Korean food as I am and not able to read a lot of what is written on the labels - this as well as the colours and densely packed shelves and space is enough for me to have to stand still for a moment to orientate initially but the shop people are helpful to get what ones wants. Perhaps if I shopped here more often I would be less in awe but it seems it as a food shopping treat”
