“Can't find anything to complain about this independent Italian restaurant. Food was superb and the range was excellent. You can tell when everything is freshly prepared and piping hot. Staff were attentive and friendly. Prices in our opinion were very reasonable especially when you consider the quality of the food. Well worth a visit if ever in Hove.”

The food is fabulous quality, the service is exceptional, the drinks menu choices are vast and brilliant; including huge gin selection, wine selection and cocktails, also alcohol free choices of mocktails and more. You can taste the freshness of all the food, it really makes a difference. Our server Freddie was the perfect balance of attentive. When they heard we were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary they made a little fuss (see photo) which was so lovely and welcome. We were treated so well, literally faultless ❤️”

“Always a pleasure visiting Pablos and they’re always the first choice for dining out for special occasions. The food is always amazing with very generous portions so you always feel like you’re getting your moneys worth and to top it off the customer service is always top notch with attentive and friendly waiters/waitresses. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and the toilets/tables are always clean and tidy.”

“Lovely pub, must admit that I wasn't blown away by the roast I had but the service and atmosphere was excellent. They also have a huge back garden which was brilliant for letting the kids blow off steam. Would likely return but to try something else on the menu ☺️”

“Brunch was fantastic here. Food was great as well as drinks. We opted for the bottomless drinks, but as the restaurant was extremely busy was a little slow with topping us up but understandable. Friend’s steak wasn’t great but was replaced immediately. Other than that, food was so good we returned the next day before heading back home.”

“The old tollgate has produced such a consistent product for years they have got their carvery down to a fine art. Excellent value at 3 courses for under £30, great service and plenty of choice. Unlike most carveries, they even manage to keep the vegetables fresh. Easy to get to off the a27, and plenty of parking.”

“Popped in last night out of the blue as fancied a Thai, Nicely greeted and shown to a table, after a few mins we were asked for a drinks order, drinks arrived in good time, we ordered a starter to share and our main course, the starter was absolutely beautiful and tasted amazing, the main courses was also mouth watering, the desserts were absolutely amazing too, to be honest we weren’t expecting the experience we had, a real gem of a restaurant both in service and quality of food, the pricing was very good. 10/10 to this restaurant, we will be back. “Went here twice during a long weekend it was that good! I had a Curry which was great and my fiancée had a couple of squid dishes which she said were the best she'd ever had. The chicken and mushroom fried rice is also fantastic!”

I have been several times and have never been disappointed!
