“Well worth the short walk up from Lewes centre (about 30 mins) for the golden hour sunset views of the North and South Downs. Easy for kids too if they're moaners like mine.”
“A very smart, modern establishment with good counter service and very nice food, I had smoked salmon with dill on a focaccia which was delicious along with a date and chocolate cake, also delicious. The place was dog friendly inside and quiet which was good for my old girl, outside seating also available. A lot of thought had been put into the lighting and mood of the restaurant though I didn't quite understand the art, there is obviously a meaning but it was lost on me, not the restaurants fault, definitely mine. A bit pricey but often cost comes from quality and quality was evident in all aspects of this quirky eatery.”
“I’ve used this Taxi service multiple times now!!!! Never been so satisfied with a taxi service in my life!! Tamer was really helpful and arrived on time and got us to the airport on time. I’ve asked for Tamer every time as he is always on time and is always very attentive and helps us with any queries. Would also like to add the very cheap prices they offer for what they give.”
“EXCELLENT day out!!! Perfect for our 5 year old, animals, dinosaurs, rides, play areas, splash zone, soft play... What more could you want! It had a great balance of everything, an excellent and reasonably priced gift shop, lots of picnic areas / benches. We were there the whole day 10am - 6pm and could have been longer, very tempted to buy an annual pass even though we live an hour away. Great day out!”
“Great value for money, staff in shop and entrance booth very friendly and helpful. Lots to do rain or shine. Brilliant place.”
“We took our grandchildren to the Christmas afternoon tea experience today & it was fabulous. It was so well organised. Tables were prepared for each booking with name badges & food already in place. Father Christmas & Mrs Christmas visited each child & they were given an age appropriate gift that our grandchildren loved. The food was pitched just right for both children & adults & we all had a great time. There was also a later photo opportunity with Father Christmas by the Christmas tree. We'll done to everyone involved in making this such a great event.”
“What an absolutely charming tudor manor house. The priory may be gone but the house and grounds are stunning We attended on one of their events a 1940s VE celebration. We will definitely return for the living history event in August”
“Went to the Glo Wild event last week. I thought is was even better than last year and year before that. We were lucky with the weather too. Very well organised event and so imaginative and spectacular.”
“Great for short or long walks. Seasonal variations in the trees with changing colours, especially in Autumn make this place special. Free parking plus toilets and a dog dip area if needed”
“I’ve been coming here for quite a while Claudia will cook you anything it’s always fresh and they have just started doing curry and curry sauce on chips which are very nice and fresh and very reasonably priced it’s worth stopping by if your near”
“Giggling Squid in Horsham offers a delightful dining experience in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant is conveniently located near ample parking, making it easily accessible for both locals and visitors. The menu features a diverse selection of Thai dishes that are both flavourful and beautifully presented. Each dish we tried was exceptionally tasty and well-prepared, reflecting authentic flavours with a modern twist. Prices are competitive, offering excellent value for the quality of food and service provided. The staff were warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, contributing to the relaxed and welcoming environment. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a special evening out, Giggling Squid in Horsham is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended.”
“I took Mum out here on her Birthday and she and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was magnificent, varied menu and enticing presentation. Staff were friendly and attentive and the decor and music offered a lovely Mediterranean escape on a rainy English afternoon. Free complimentary bread and dip. I highly recommend eating out here. Quieter during the day but can be very popular at peak times so recommend booking a table prior. If you haven’t eaten here yet do it now! You won’t be disappointed.”
“Really loved the scene and vibes here on a Sunday morning . The eggs Benedict was perfect, couldn't have asked more to start the day.”
“We had a Sunday roast and on another night had the awesome bangers and mash and were not disappointed with either. Omg so much food and all delish and lots of choices. Guinness gravy was excellent btw! Staff were brilliant too. Would highly recommend.”
“One of our favorite places. Such a relaxed atmosphere and so many independent cafes and eateries.”
“Amazing food and service. Was recommended to us and we will come again.”
“Went here to watch one of the film that was on during the week (Urchin) and had a wonderful experience. Very smooth process from booking online, arriving and interacting with very friendly staff. Then the actual theatre. Absolutely comfortable 10/10. Very clean environment; comfortable seating; and the sound system was perfect. Literally had a better movie experience here than I did at a much larger operated cinema 2 days prior.”
“From the moment we walked in, the staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The service was impeccable throughout our visit—friendly without being overbearing, and always on hand just when you needed them. It’s clear the team takes pride in creating a relaxed yet polished dining experience. The food lived up to every expectation. Fresh, vibrant ingredients shine in every dish, from the beautifully presented starters to the generous mains. To top it all off, dessert was a true indulgence, a perfect end to the meal.”
“While visiting, I forgot that I am actually on my holidays and not at war time. Impressed by this fort. I takes you through the times of both world wars and the history of wartime Britain. It's a dog friendly place but be aware that all the ramps are made of steel and they get extremely hot in summer.”
“Visited Alfriston on our way to The Seven Sisters White Cliffs, stopped at the town for lunch. We had a nice lunch at the Wingrove, then wandering about in the town, It was a very beautiful, scenic and tranquil town.”
“Easy walk around this reservoir on a well maintained path, there is a bird hide en route, sadly not much in view today. There is a car park, a cafe and toilets, and dogs are welcome, but I think have to be kept on a lead. Very pleasant place for people of all ages, splendid views of the Downs in the distance.”
“An amazing unexpected reserve on the edge of busy Burgess Hill. Fascinating history recorded on information boards at points of interest throughout the ancient woodland. Birdsong and wild flowers in abundance. Easy free parking, free entry, dogs allowed. Definitely a must visit.”
“First time here. Great food. Really good. Cooked with love... fantastic service. Finland was just great. Also real value for money. Thank you.”
“Really nice spot - great coffee and hot chocolate and great lunch menu too. They have several vegan and gluten free options also. Staff are super friendly and helpful :)”
“Modern art gallery, very archtectural building and incrediable location for views of the sea and town. It really helped to have a guided tour. They bring out some otherwise unfathomable art.”
“Part of a full day's very scenic walking enjoying the landscape but at the time was unaware tht the farm actually has a history dating back over 1,000 years, with evidence of human settlement from the Mesolithic and Bronze Ages. It was once owned by the Knights Templar and has been home to various farming families over the centuries. And we found Wildflour Café as well which was very nice.”
“Genuinely the perfect date spot. Food was almost so good we cried. Lovely service and atmosphere.”
“Perfect to visit with Charleston farmhouse for greater understanding and appreciation. Easy to do a fascinating 5k walking circuit to river along to Southease, follow South downs way up to ridge of downs to West and back down through Rodmell”
“The food was absolutely gorgeous, the full Monty was delectable and the whole vibe of the place was extremely welcoming and pleasant. The service was great, as the servers were jolly and friendly one even gave my child a lollipop for free! I went yesterday and will definitely be coming again at some point in the near future definitely recommend to go if your in Peacehaven”
