Having lived in the Middle East, it is some of the finest food from the region I have tasted! The friendly, accommodating service only enhances the flavours as it is cooked with such care and the music played in the restaurant makes a visit a wonderful experience. “I cannot thank this pub enough for the kindness they showed me recently. My car broke down nearby while I was already running late for the airport, and with no phone signal and no clue what to do, the staff stepped in without hesitation. They kindly let me leave my car in their car park for a few days while I sorted everything out, and even gave me access to their WiFi so I could book a taxi. Thanks to their help, I managed to make my flight in the end. Everyone I met there was genuinely lovely, friendly, understanding, and willing to help someone in a stressful situation. Proper good people and a proper good pub. I highly recommend visiting them. They fully deserve your support.”

“Visited on a Saturday brunch time, and it was almost full but still some tables and not a long wait to order. Lovely atmosphere and great variety of pastry and food! It reminded me of a bakery in Amsterdam. The pasty was super good, well seasoned and hot! If it were in Cornwall it would be above average. The sausage roll was very big and delicious too! Tasted like it had Italian seasoning and the pastry was crispy. The butter croissant was fresh, a bit doughy and you could taste the butter. We enjoyed the iced lattes too.”

“I’m not usually the biggest fan of Chinese food, but my partner loves it, so we gave Hao Wei a try, and I’m so glad we did. The food is absolutely amazing, full of flavour, fresh, and seriously satisfying. The staff are friendly and welcoming. It’s now become a firm favourite for us and part of our go-to hangover cure routine. Highly recommend giving it a try, even if Chinese isn’t normally your first choice, you might be surprised like I was!”

“Went to Palomar for lunch and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was great, music was on point, our server was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious (we had oysters and the seafood boil). Little hidden gem! The only downside was parking, we aren't from Bristol and when we looked on Google maps there weren't any car parks nearby that we could see so we had to park on the road outside and walk to the restaurant.”

“Outdoor dining on Kingsmead Square. What’s not to like in terms of atmosphere. To be serenaded by the buskers of varying quality in the fresh outdoor air. Wait staff were very cordial and attentive. To start I had the Burata wrapped in Parma Ham. A lovely mix of salt balsamic and creaminess. You could tell the Burata was high quality. I then had the special Truffle Mozzarella Pepperoni Walnut pizza. This was on a wholewheat base and you could defiantly tell the difference. A yeasty flavour combining well the salty meat and cream of the cheese. Walnuts were a nice earthy addition.”
