“A big hotel with a welcoming lounge, large bedrooms, very impressed with room we stayed in. Comfy Queen size bed. Sofa. Clean bathroom and shower.very quiet too. A huge choice for Breakfast , continental or cooked.£12 taxi to train station.”

“Stayed over 1 night as visiting Cwmbran. Lovely double bedroom Coffee/hot chocolate and tea available. Bathroom to a standard. If you add breakfast, dining area is very good. Only let down was that you had to have waitress service for hot drinks and cups were very small. Maybe provide a larger cup !!! Self service on break buffet. Cold drinks , juices, fruit, toast and jam available. It is best to ask for veggie sausages if you are veggie before breakfast starts, as not cooked in buffet selection.”

“It’s a very convenient solution for accommodation. Very clean in the room and also the kitchen which is very big. Use the parking area of ASDA which is only 5 min walking. The staff was also friendly. If you visit Cardiff, %100 recommend this place. Suitable for couples as well. No issue.”

“Had a great night's sleep here on business. The staff at reception were polite and friendly. I was greeted by an Asian gentleman on arrival. He was very busy booking guests in, but still provided great customer service. The room was clean and tidy. The beefeater next door was fantastic for dinner and breakfast. Will be staying again.”

“I stay at the Holiday Inn Newport most weeks, and it never fails to deliver. From the moment you walk through the doors, the warm welcome and consistently high standard of service set the tone for a great stay. A special mention has to go to Emma and Liz, who always go above and beyond to make guests feel valued. Their professionalism, friendliness, and genuine care make such a difference – nothing is ever too much trouble, and they are a real credit to the hotel. The bar and restaurant team also deserve huge praise. Service is always attentive and welcoming, and the food is excellent. Breakfast in particular is a highlight – a great choice, fresh, and always served with a smile, which makes starting the day that little bit better. It’s rare to find such consistency week after week, but this hotel delivers it every time. The staff really do make the difference here, and it’s the reason I keep coming back. Holiday Inn Newport truly sets the standard for hospitality.”

“We had a lovely stay! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They also have specials for front line and social care workers that were really appreciated as well as vouchers for parking in the city centre. It's very conveniently located. I'd recommend having a 'do not disturb' sign as we had people knocking on the door twice in a 1 night stay. We were right by the lifts so maybe just bad luck there.”

“Me and my partner have stayed at this Hotel quite a lot recently and every time we have stayed here we have had a really good experience. The receptionist Fara always makes us feel welcomed and we always have a friendly chat, she is very polite and generous and makes our stay even better”

“My two lurchers have stayed here a few times now. The kennels came recommended to me, but I was still a little nervous as one of my two can be quite unsure of other dogs - he loves them when he gets to know them, but can be quite barky initially as he's scared. I shouldn't have worried - he had a lovely time, came out not really fussed to see me, which I think is always a good sign, and next visit they both had their tails wagging and were really pleased to see the staff. Will definitely be visiting again!”

“Pros: The rooms and breakfast (which you preorder) are excellent value for money. The facilities are also excellent. Very clean inside and plenty of fresh linen from the maid if you require. Lots of food and drink places within a few minutes walk. (The Four Elms is a great pub.) Cons: Our room (6) was on the top floor with no lift. It was small but nice. There is no good view from the dormer window. The parking was OK but I didn't like leaving my car there, as there was evidence that other cars had been broken into. I took off one star from location for this reason only.”

“Ideal location just staying off the M4. Yes you can hear the noisy traffic but its not disturbed our sleep - the heavy rain did more damage to that ( and some dogs barking!!) Amazing family bathroom - with shower, bath and toilet all in one room for young families only. Everything is clean tidy, level gravel pitch. Very friendly staff. We have enjoyed our stay here with out 3 young children. So much room to go off on our bikes, play park etc.”

We loved getting the updates and pictures and it was lovely to know they were being cared for so well, it was such a comfort and allowed us to enjoy our break. It felt like they had their own holiday! It was lovely to see how well you read their individual needs & personalities. “I only have 2 words to say about home and away "Bloody Brilliant". I have trusted this dog kennels on numerous occasions to take care of our 4 Daschunds and i cannot fault them. They evan had a complimentary bath before pickup. Brilliant, would trust no other kennels to look after our boys.”

She seems to have had a lovely time - had a few pupdates during my holiday, all looked to be happy and running about with the others. Steve and his staff were polite and courteous. would definitely recommend and she will be going again.”

“Kathy & her staff are excellent, make you feel very welcome. Do not let the cost fool you. Personally I’ve stayed in other establishments that have cost a lot more & haven’t measured up to anywhere near to what the Parklaneguesthouse does. Your room is cleaned every day, fresh towels every day & coffee & tea topped up every day. The entire place is spotless. It’s that great a place, cost & facilities, that I walk for 45 minutes in morning to get to work. Do not pass bye. Stephen”
