“We had a wonderful and comfortable stay here. Positives are location, comfort and the service and staff. We were able to drop our luggage to the hotel before check-in and leave it there after check-out whilst we enjoyed the vast shops of Cardiff town. The breakfast was delicious too. The only negative- we were unable to book the restaurant for dinner. The only available time was 9pm and this was when trying to book before 5pm. We were offered to sit and eat from the bar menu, however we found the music too loud to hold a conversation and the table size not suitable to sit comfortably with a meal. We therefore ordered room service. This was delivered quicker than anticipated but was tepid, the sprouts were extremely soft/soggy, the parsnips and potatoes dried out and the Turkey was dry too. That said, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Overall, I loved it.”

“My husband and I stayed overnight on a Tuesday evening. The experience was lovely, the hotel is charming and has a great atmosphere of a beautiful home. The greeting upon arrival by Charles (we think) was friendly and helpful as was our departure the next day by a lovely efficient young lady. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - there were a few light bulbs not working in our room but nothing that detracted. The bed was super cosy and comfy. We had a delicious evening meal, and a lovely breakfast before we departed. Long may owner run hotels survive. Super impressed, keep up the good work. Thanks for a great stay. Mr & Mrs Chase.”

“Came for the carnival and stayed for the weekend. What can I say about this guest house? WONDERFUL! Gwen, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating. Service with a smile and very attentive. Our room, a triple with ensuite, was lovely. A very bright, airy room, well kept and clean. The ensuite was cosy and very clean. Furnishing was to a high standard, and we had good nights sleep. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already booked a room for next year!”

“Four adults and a four year old. We've just returned from a fantastic weeks stay at Riverside. Yes, there were a couple of negatives, and no, we didn't raise them at the time as we managed to combat them, and they didn't distract from the really good time we had. The caravan we stayed in was a six birth. Whilst there were ample cutlery, crockery & and glassware, we felt that the pans provided were of poor quality and inadequate. There was only one shelf in the oven. We expected that there should be two. And lastly (and it's the same issue at virtually every other holiday let We've stayed ), the knives in the knife block were all blunt. (The wife's tongue is sharper). May have as well used a hatchet. Apart from those minor issues, the caravan was clean and tidy. The site was well laid out and well maintained. All the staff were helpful and friendly and went about their duties diligently. We only used the restaurant a couple of times. I'm not a fan of carveries myself. However, I have to admit that the one we had at Riverside was really enjoyable. We also sampled the "build your own pizza." Outstanding. It's probably the best pizzas we've had. Pleasantly surprised at the prices at the bar too. It's more than reasonable. Well stocked with a wide choice of drinks. Apparently, we visited during the last week of low season and were informed that most of the week it would be quiet and entertainment would mainly consist of bingo, quizzes and karaoke. The best would be done to involve any children (of which there were very few). Lee, did an excellent job keeping us entertained. The bingo and quizzes were made really entertaining, and the children always came away "winning" and ice cream despite not even playing. For the number of people that were there most evenings, the prizes were very good. To summarize a very clean site offering friendly value for money service and amenities.”

“We spent a weekend here and were thoroughly impressed. The hotel's design is chic and modern, yet the room was incredibly comfortable and quiet. The bed was like a cloud, and the rainfall shower was fantastic. The location is unbeatable, within walking distance of all the main attractions. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally helpful, providing great recommendations for local restaurants. A wonderful base for exploring the city.”

“All 3 of my dogs go to Jess, She treats them all as individuals and always knows which ones like or don’t like something and taylors the groom to each of them. Jess is always bubbly and smiling when you see her and all 3 of my dogs will happily run to her. Grooms are always to an excellent standard and they always come out smelling and looking beautiful. I also love the fact Jess takes photos and videos whilst grooming them as an owner it is great to see how comfortable they are around her. .”

“Have been using Pinecroft for many years now. Sharon and Avril are always very accommodating and always take great care of our cat. In the last couple of years he hasn't been too well, and they also ensure he has his medication. Would recommend them very highly.”

“Keith was a helpful and attentive host. Apartment was clean, tidy and had everything we wanted. It would have been nice to have direct control of the heating rarher than via Keith, but it didn't cause a problem. Barry has some nice shops and bars.”

“Superb restaurant experience. 1st time here but not the last it doesn’t matter that this wonderful place is situated in the middle of an housing estate nor does it matter that the main car park is small and awkward, all that matters is the quality of service and food which is excellent. The standard of cookery and quality of the Welsh meats is of the highest order, my son and I both agree that the Chateaubriand was the best and most flavoursome we have ever tasted anywhere. The ‘Firey’ Scallops were an explosion of flavours that will provoke debate. The desserts were a delight and beautifully presented. Our young server Bonnie-Rae was excellent, polite and courteous, her manner enabled us to really enjoy a more relaxed and informal evening, she fully explained all courses including allergies and the extensive GF options.”

“We had our wedding day here, and It is the best venue with the most incredible staff. Molly and Klaudia in the events team while helping plan were always there for us and couldn't of done anything more, making everything as stress free and easy as humanly possible, all while being so kind! On the day Mike and Amy made sure everything went to plan and were so wonderful to us and our guests, and Wayne the evening DJ was amazing too. We couldn't recommend a better more accommodating venue, and the rooms that we and some of the guests stayed in were perfect. Thank you so much to the whole team at the bear!”

“This is a lovely oasis in a very busy city center. It is quiet, elegant, and well appointed. Staff is wonderful. We were on holiday when a family emergency forced us to have to extend our stay. The hotel extended our stay, daily, and made sure to keep us in the same room. They provided all amenities needed while taking care not to disturb so we could sleep in between hospital visits. They made a difficult situation so much easier for us. Gracious hospitality at its finest. From management to housekeeping to front desk. Excellent. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.”

“I boarded my two retrievers recently. My girl had never been away from home and was stressed at the initial handover. I need not have worried as both dogs were clean, fluffy and really happy when we collected them. I was very impressed and would definitely recommend.”

Just finished a tenancy with these guys and they are incredibly helpful, punctual, and friendly. The team was always professional, responsive, and attentive to my needs. The property was well-maintained, and any maintenance requests were promptly addressed, usually within 1-2 days. I highly recommend them for a reliable and supportive rental experience. I also had my deposit returned with some reasonable deductions, as they take very thorough photos of their inventory and any existing damages. “Spot on location. Hotel was spotless inside and out. Beautiful kept garden at the back of property. We stayed in room 8 sea veiw room at the top. Views were amazing. It is within a few minutes of the pier and dozens of arcades and food places, restaurants, pubs. I initially booked this to go on a trip to the Island nearby but was cancelled due to the weather. Still had a lovely time in the area.”
