Been here many times over the last few years and really enjoy walking round the marina where this restaurant is located as well. Nice to have places like this within a short drive.”

“Absolutely brilliant! We stumbled over this place and glad to find it be the best chef and brewer we have been in so far! Heidi looked after us so well, she was friendly and efficient but when we asked about the no leaf salad, the Chef Jo came out of the kitchen and talked us through the menu and was so knowledgeable and friendly! Not only that, the food was the best prepared we have had yet in any chef and brewer! She clearly knows what she’s doing in the kitchen and it shines through. I’d love to have a meal prepared by her again soon! All this and they are dog friendly! Keep it up.”

“Great pub in the embers inns chain. Used to be my local a few years ago, dropped in today and still good. Real ale great and food lovely, good size beer garden to the side, with wooden shelters to sit inside if it rains, nice outside sitting area at front”

“My food was delicious I had the ultimate veggie burger and it was really good! Me and my friend are both vegetarians and our food was brilliant. My parter had a chicken burger which he said was great and my friends partner had the loaded fries. We also had a side of bbq cauliflower wings which were delicious!! Also the staff were all really friendly and helpful.”

“First time eating out on Christmas Day today and it was absolutely fantastic. Starter and Main courses were faultless. I was pleasantly surprised by the portion size. Service was quick and efficient, staff lovely and welcoming, couldn't do enough for us. The only thing that let it down slightly for me was the desert, I found the chocolate tart to be very bitter. Despite this, the value for money was incredible. Will definitely be back again next year.”

“Came across place this place whilst looking for a decent menu for gluten free. And honestly I was not disappointed. From the get go the staff couldn't have been more helpful. First the gluten free menu is one of the best I have seen in a long time, everything from burgers, steaks to chicken, there was starters and even desserts. Once I explained I was both gluten free and dairy free and ordered my food, my starter had some dairy on it the server came to speak to me and altered it to suit my dietary needs. Honestly this is the best place and I will definitely be back.”

What we had anticipated to be a simple All-Day Breakfast became an experience of unexpected refinement, precision, and artistry. The eggs—of which we requested a generous extra—arrived delicately folded, their yolks glistening with a satin-like sheen. The bacon was arranged with care, crisp at the edges yet retaining a tender richness, while the sausages were perfectly seared, offering a gentle snap that gave way to a deeply seasoned interior. Even the modest, somewhat rogue slice of cheese was placed with surprising grace, subtly melting into the warmth of the plate as though it were always meant to be there. It is a rare achievement for such a classic dish to feel so composed, almost architectural in its presentation, yet so utterly comforting. Service was another remarkable aspect of our visit. Though we did not catch his name, our server—who bore a striking resemblance to a “Steve”—displayed an attentiveness that enhanced the entire experience. His manner was discreet yet sincerely thoughtful, ensuring every detail was attended to without ever intruding upon the relaxed rhythm of our meal. From his calm assurance to the quiet efficiency with which he anticipated our needs, it was clear he took great pride in his role. What impressed us most was the consistency between presentation, flavour, and service. There was no overstatement, no unnecessary embellishment—just an honest, skilful approach executed with elegance. The harmony between the kitchen and the front of house was evident, resulting in a dining experience that exceeded expectations in the most understated yet memorable way. We left with a sense of genuine appreciation, not only for the quality of the food but for the care and professionalism that shaped every aspect of our visit. It was, quite simply, an exceptional start to the day and one we would be delighted to repeat.”

“Breakfast at the Bonnie Prince was amazing! We haven't been in 5+ years but thought we would try breakfast. The breakfast was fabulous. A huge choice on the menu which would suit anyone from granola, eggs, cobs, full English, waffles, Mexican and much more. Our server April was fabulous, so friendly and helpful, quick and professional, she is a credit to the Bonnie Prince. All the staff were friendly and it was a lovely environment. I can't believe how great the breakfast was from here! We will be visiting again on a regular basis due to the breakfast and the staff. Thank you Bonnie Prince!”
