βMy appointment was at the Endoscopy Unit. I got lost at first and ended up in the wrong part of the hospital. A woman at a desk saw me looking confused. She was not from the endoscopy unit but from a department nearby. Instead of just pointing, she stopped everything she was doing and walked with me all the way there. She kept talking to me, laughing about how the signs could confuse anyone, just to make me feel better. I was really touched by this. As it turned out, that was just the start. The whole team at the Endoscopy Unit seemed to work together in a special way. One nurse noticed that English is not my first language and immediately started speaking very slowly and clearly. She was so warm and made me laugh more than a few times. She helped me with all the forms, reading them with such energy it didnβt feel like it was her thousandth time doing it. I was a bit nervous during the procedure as it was my first time. The nurse focused on making me feel at ease. I must have asked a million questions, one after another, but her goal was clearly my comfort. She answered every single one with a smile and so much compassion. Her incredible patience is what made the difference, and I felt so calm that I barely touched the Entonox. The endoscopist was fantastic. It was not just her skill, she found a complicated polyp that isn't easy to see, but also her dedication. She took the time to explain her plan, not just for now but for my future check-ups, to make sure I would stay healthy. This showed me she truly cared about the outcome. And it did not end there. The nurse who explained my aftercare was the same. She had infinite patience with all my clumsy questions, the ones I asked just to be sure I understood everything. She just kept offering ideas to help, never showing any sign of being tired or annoyed. It was not just about one person being the best. It was about seeing a perfect team where everyone collaborated to make me feel safe. You get the feeling that these people truly love what they do. That they are here helping people because it is their passion. The whole day, they made eye contact, asked me things that werenβt just on a form, and listened like my answers mattered. It felt like they were taking care of a family member. The kindness was real and constant. If youβre reading this and feeling a bit on edge about your procedure, I hope my comment puts you at ease. I walked away with nothing but trust and admiration for this team.β
βThis has been the best practice to deal with. Have always been patient and helpful, even when there are no appointments available they do their best to make sure you have options and support.β

βI have been at the practice for 17 years now, the original doctors have all retired and were replaced by new doctors over a couple of years. My current doctor is Dr McPhail who is brilliant and I would never change as is Dr Gallacher. It's a great warm welcoming practice with a wide variety of of patients and Nationalities.β
βI am not a regular at the G.Ps. I alway thought highly of Dr. Mckibbin . I must say on these few occasions I have called for help I have been given an appointment promptly. The receptionist have been lovely and did their best. I feel Dr Jacob is an excellent G.P. I found her very caring, understanding and helpful. Thanx to all at the practice.β
βHaving read, with interest all the negative reviews regarding the service from the Barrhead Health Center, I would like to add some positive feedback ! I joined this practice after moving to Barrhead and can honestly say; β I have only ever received a fast efficient service, from both the front desk reception staff, to the numerous Practitioners I have consulted. I would also like to draw to the attention of those individuals who experience frustration at obtaining an appointment, that the 8.30am phone calls for appointments was adopted, mainly due to patients failing to attend for their allocated appointments, which obviously created unnecessary costs. I therefore feel obliged to commend all the staff within the Barrhead Health Center, as their positions, can and often be very stressful at peak times ! Moral of this story β¦ ? Give them a break, they are only trying to earn a living by providing a GREAT SERVICE !β
βI recently had a lot of water damage from a kitchen leak . I have an autistic son . From the very start AXA treated us as a vulnerable family and the communication and care was exceptional. The whole process of drying out and reinstallation of my kitchen has taken 5 long weeks but l can't praise AXA enough for their care and quick settlement .β
βI've been going here for a while for dad and now myself staff are very helpful and nothings a bother if u need to talk the nursing staff listen thank u all at drumchapel health centreβ
βGreat GP practice overall although some issues with trying to get an appointment urgently but I think that is just due to the strain the NHS is under-not the GP's fault. Lovely staff. Really pleased with my GP and treatment of ongoing issues. Thank you.β
βUp visiting family Needed to see a Dr They were brilliant, registered me as a temporary patient, saw me the same day and diagnosed a chest infection, saved hours in a&e So friendly, caring and profesionalβ
βI really impressed from dental staff specailly yasmeen colin very ggreat docter and she is to go and polite . She give me my smile back.β
βIt's an excellent way to communicate the fact you can get right through to a doctor for a telephone triage is amazing. We should think ourselves lucky as some practices you need to call about 100 times to get through to be told by the receptionist that there are no appointments left. The fact the doctors give out the appointments is amazing. We are VERY lucky to have this system.β
βAn excellent practice. All doctors and staff are very welcoming and professional. My husband has improved greatly with the care that he has received over a period of time. Thank youβ
βThanks to Demi for sending me to Wishaw for further treatment. After Monklands left me wi a coupla stera strips my finger injury would never have healed and after Demi saw it says I should goto trauma unit at Wishaw to get better treatment. Ended up wi 8 proper stitches and nail bed repairs to avoid further surgery. Thanks so much to Demi and got the right treatment in end xβ
βI can't praise the staff enough ! Been attending the nurse Stacy for a number of weeks now she was so kind and caring and couldn't do enough for me ! She's very professional and knowledgeable and I felt very safe in her care I don't understand why people seem to have a problem with reception staff each and everyone of them are nicer than another always find them very polite and helpful as does my husbandβ
βIt was a short and delightful appointment at Possilpark. The health staff who attended to me, Ms. Arlene (hope I got the spelling right), was cheerful and encouraging.β
βI was there to get blood taken for an infected knee , when the nurses seen the state of my knee the were super helpful and could not have done enough to help me , dressed it and gave me loads of great advise , THANK YOUβ
βIncredible service. My partner had a bad accident and broke her leg, we had to come and stay with family in the area after her surgery as we live on a 4th floor flat in Edinburgh and she couldn't do the stairs. Needed to arrange an appointment 10-14 days after her surgery to get staples removed and would have been difficult/painful getting her in the car to go back to Edinburgh. Called multiple surgeries who said they couldn't help and then called the Oaks, the staff could not have been more helpful. All very efficient and managed to get the appoinment arranged on time despite being closed for all the public holidays. Massive thank you to the team.β
βMe and my family have joined this practice since August 2021. This practice has been the best we have ever been with. The doctors and nurses are genuinely so caring, they always show concern for whatever illness or symptoms we'd have. Absolutely Stars! βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβ
βCredit where due- offered a cancelled appointment rather than wasting it; and credit to the person who cancelled for notifying the surgery. System can work if everyone shows they care. I got a welcomed call for an earlier appointment- thanks to the reception staff member (polite fellow, sorry didn't get his name) who called me and showed he cared. Thanks :)β
βRemoved my previous review so I can make a new one with up to date information. Previously was 5 stars anyways as they're always brilliant with my sons and husband, however a huge thank you to Dr.Duffin for being so on the ball with getting me seen and getting me into the hospital. I spent weeks and weeks in pain and Dr.Duffin made sure to keep checking in, organising follow up appointments etc. I was meant to take part in a survey for him but sadly timed out before I had a chance to do it and felt bad so thought I'd leave it here that if more doctors were as fast thinking and thorough like Dr.Duffin there'd never be a complaint about the health services. The rest of the GPS are brilliant here too and the nurse who does bloods magic! Gets mine done before I have time to react. Receptionists are brilliant too with answering calls quicker, updating patients etc. Charleston surgery is the best!β
βOnly been with this surgery for 3 weeks & they are amazing. The reception staff are polite and kind and genuinely care for the patients as the doctors , best doctors.β
βI was referred to this health center today after calling the hotline to receive urgent dental care. The pain and swelling had been keeping me from sleeping and eating. And this visit was wonderful. Everyone β from the lady at the reception to the team in the dental surgery room β was incredibly kind, attentive, and ready to solve the problem right away. I felt so comfortable, as if we had known each other for a long time. Everything went painlessly, quickly, and calmly. Many thanks to the dental department, the lady at the reception, and the two doctors from operating room number 1. Iβm sorry, I have a poor memory for names, but you were amazing.β
βHonestly had the best experience with this surgery. I was so nervous moving to a north lanarkshire surgery especially in cumbernauld where i have heard a lot of horror stories. I had just had my first baby and registered here. They have been super quick with appointments for me and my son. The doctor has called me out of hours to reassure me my results were normal. Seen my baby anytime ive had concerns. The reception staff have also been majorly kind and taken an interest in my son amd always been reassuring and went above and beyond to insure i have got off he phone with an appointment that suits my needs. Ive also attended a breast feeding class in here which as lovely The nurses ive met have also even really nice too.β
βHave to agree difficult to get an appointment at times, but despite this for the 16 years I have been with them. I have had an outstanding service. The nurses and GP's are excellent, very caring and provide a good service.β
βThis is a lovely surgery. I always felt well looked after especially during my pregnancy and after having my little boy. The staff in the reception are just so lovely and kind, they always do their best to accommodate an appointment. When it comes to my little boy think the ladies go above and beyond to help us. 5 stars. Dominika O.β
βA great Medical Centre the ladies on reception are amazing so helpful and always happy to help on phone great centre.β
βHave been with this practice for over 40 years and never had an issue with them. Yes, you need to queue up outside at 8.30 to get an appointment, but that is down to growing population, which has doubled in that time and a lack of GPs generally. Moodiesburn alone has a population of over 7K and there are 6-10 doctors, 3 dispensing practitioners and 3 nurses. Factor in other communities to see the pressure... People are living longer, so need more medical care. There's only so much they can do and my family and I have always been well looked after by themβ
