“We just had a Chinese takeaway from Lotus Garden, ordered a set meal for 2, cost less than £20. The food was good portion and delicious, definitely will use them again.”

“Food is served fast enough. Can tell it's a hard working smaller buisness. Can also tell it's authentic. I opt for the Szechuan and kung po tofu with the salt n pepper chips to put it on. Nice n salty and tofu spicy enough. Allergens are clearly labeled near the desk for anyone with preferences or allergies.”

“First time ordering here. The food was absolutely delicious, good-sized portions, very fresh ingredients and full of flavour. We tried 2 types of ribs, rice dishes and the famous chips. Nothing disappointed, it's was absolutely beautiful and worth the drive. We will definitely be back.”

“Cracking food. Mixed appetisers followed by Sweet and Sour Chicken Cantonese Style, King Prawns with Bamboo shoots and Water chestnuts, Duck with Plum sauce, Stir fried beansprouts and rice. Far too much food for 2 people - must be Yorkshire portions- should have skipped on the starters. But everything was very tasty and piping hot. The draught beer went down nicely as well. All in all well recommended.”

“The best £7.50 I have spent in months. Great friendly service, very customer oriented (as you'd hope all shops were). Food was prepped in very good time and my Sweet n Sour chicken balls with Special fried rice was bloody gorgeous. Called here on a recommendation from local neighbourhood site and so glad I did.”

“We had a takeaway from Newbegin and would definitely recommend. We ordered the salt and pepper munchy box (pictured with a regular salt and pepper chicken for scale) which was massive, good value for money, lots of chicken and very tasty!”

“Arriving at the restaurant we were treated by staff straight away. Payment made and we was sent downstairs to the restaurant. There was no queue (easter Sunday 4pm) we were shown straight to our table, explained how the restaurant worked and left to our own devices. There was so much choice, from English food, Chinese, Indian, sushi, Italian. Lots of choice for dessert too. Once plates were finished with, they were taken by the staff immediately. Fresh cutlery was left at the table if you needed them again for another plate of food. There was no limit to the amount of times we could go up and get another plate of food (4 plates later, and feeling fat). Again no limit on dessert, and plenty of choice for everyone. There was no rush for us to leave the restaurant, and by 5, the restaurant was filling up. We were there around 2 hours in total. There was even a robotic machine that delivered drinks to tables. Overall we had a lovely time, and would return to the restaurant again.”

“Worth the price. Ordered two king prawn dishes with boiled and fried rice plus two large spring rolls. You could tell all of the vegetables had been chopped fresh and cooked, dishes came with plenty of large prawns that were cooked perfectly. Full of flavour and came with free extras, a little bag of prawn crackers each and fortune cookies. Spring rolls were full of meat. Just good quality decent food and not stingy with the meat. Will definitely order again. Thanks guys appreciate it.”

“Had a takeaway from here last night, despite the poor reviews, it was excellent!! Yes, the bbq ribs are a little dry, could do with some sauce, but the curry, chicken with mushrooms and the chips were excellent. We would definitely call again!! Chris.”

“Our local Chinese takeaway and to be fair one of the best in Hull and I've tried most of the ones with a decent food hygiene score trust me. Food is always great. Usually delivery is reasonably quick for a very busy and popular takeaway restaurant . The staff are always super friendly and helpful . Never eat in so can't comment on atmosphere inside. Highly recommended”

“Tried real china for the first time today with my friend. The food and value for money were fantastic. Most of the dishes were turned over and fresh and each had individual flavours, my friends favourite was the curry and mine was the satay was gorgeous. Really had a nice time in a relaxed atmosphere and would definitely return. Couldn't go wrong for £14.95!”

“We’ve ordered from this Chinese takeaway a couple of times since it came under new management, and it’s absolutely fantastic! The food is delicious, really fresh and full of flavour, with generous portion sizes and great value for money. The service is just as impressive – the girl on the front is always polite, welcoming and does a brilliant job. Tonight there was also a new member of staff serving, and he was just as friendly with excellent customer service. It’s quickly become our go-to for Chinese food, and we’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend!”

“I went for a quiet meal with two friends and my partner for my birthday. Lovely surroundings, lovely view and very hospitable host and staff. Prompt service. Nothing was too much trouble. Excellent choice of food all beautifully cooked and presented. Excellent value and I was given a bottle of wine as a birthday gift. I would definitely recommend. The future looks good for Mr Chu and his restaurant. Lots of plans ahead for his restaurant.”
