“We went here on a Thursday evening, and it was packed. Welcome was wonderful, and we were seated quickly, and drinks arrived soon after. Opted for the tuna carpaccio, sword fish, and prawn pasta, followed by the Lemoncello baked cheesecake. All was delicious, the fresh pasta extremely so. We would absolutely go again. I would recommend booking early, we arrived at 19:00 and it was just about right.”

“Very authentic and delicious food, verified by my Greek friend. I got a chicken gyro without chips. The chicken was delicious and well served, juicy and tender. The sauce was very balanced and the portion was good.”

“This is one of my favourite places to go for take away. The food is delicious and quick. I usually get a quesadilla and the jalapeño jelly that comes on the side is fantastic. It's fairly small inside the shop so I do think it is better to take away.”

“Olives were nice, but would have preffered pitted olives personally, and could have been a bigger portion. Garlic bread with caramelised onion starter was nice and enough for 2 people to share a small portion each. Salad was lovely with lots of sauce and added goats cheese. Malbec was nice. Wagyu pizza was very good and the honey sauce was very nice. Vincent our waiter was new and he got our orders right and was very polite. Vegan chocolate cake was nice but probably would have been better had it been warm and maybe with some vegan ice cream. Overall lovely meal.”

“Stopped by for lunch and a pint and we were not disappointed! Plenty of options on tap, lovely building, service was great and to top it off the pizzas and loaded fries were incredible! 10\10 would recommend!”

“We had our small post wedding celebration here in The Courtyard. We stayed the night before and the evening of our wedding. The entire staff, from Event management as my first contact, to reception staff and the breakfast greeting was superb. However, a very special mention must go to Yontshi, who made sure we enjoyed our tasting menu the night before and took charge of our reception on the Saturday. She made us feel like we were the most important people in her world. Thank you Mr & Mrs Miles Walker”

“This restaurant was recommended by a friend and it exceeded our already high expectations! This was genuine Keralan food made to order as we asked about items not on the menu. We had the Railway Mutton Dosa, Butter Chicken with sides. Fantastic service and thanks for our anniversary treat! Big shout out to Suryan! Great evening and we even took food home!”

“Wonderful little restaurant in city centre. Easily accommodated for our large group of people. Food was prepared to our liking and served rather quickly, even though we were 14+ guests. Lasagna was delicious and appetisers utilised proper Italian meat and cheese. Pasta was also good. Kind staff was a good bonus.”

“It isn’t often I give 5 star but this place deserves it! Before you even get chance to walk in the place, staff are already greeting you and asking how we were. The staff were friendly throughout the whole service and were very welcoming/accommodating as I had a young baby. The food was amazing! There is a large selection so there will definitely be something for everyone! On this occasion, we went for one of the set menus which is great value for what you get. The portions were perfect sizes and there was not a long wait time. If I lived in/near York, this place would definitely be a regular stop for me!”

“A great afternoon with an afternoon tea on a hot sunny Thursday afternoon. Great welcome by the tea at the bar, checked the reservation and started with a cold drink before afternoon tea and cocktails. Chatty team made the afternoon go by and a great chilled atmosphere to make the afternoon enjoyable.”

“We were staying locally and decided to pop in and try this Indian restaurant. It was the best Indian food we have had. We ordered a veggie platter for 2, chicken korma, mushroom rice, and chips. Every dish was tasty, fresh, and hot. The food was served very quickly. The staff were very friendly. It had a great atmosphere and was not too pricey. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended.”

“Great location, close to the train station, and in a central location. Beautiful view no matter which side you're on (we were facing the southwest. The room was very clean and spacious. Our only complaint is that there was no shower hose, which makes it difficult to thoroughly rinse. The shower had one of those gentle "rain" heads that can't be adjusted at all. The complimentary breakfast buffet was decent, as was the service at the front desk. If we visit York again, we would choose this hotel again. It was here that we learned that the British "How are you?" is actually "Are you alright?" and we thought the front desk employee was concerned with something about us (I checked to see if we had forgotten to get dressed...) :)”

“Oh my had a satay tonight and it was absolutely lovely. Peanut as it said and a good bit of heat . Is there a new chef?? We use you all the time and this was one of the best satay dishes I have had.”

“I shall not be getting chips from here again because I couldn’t eat them…..the reason why I couldn’t eat them was because the fish was fookin massive!!!! 1st time I’ve got from here in 35yrs & best fish I’ve had in god knows how long, right up to the end of the batter on both sides. Fabulous.”

“I 'phoned the hotel a few days before my planned stay in order to request a few things. I was extremely fortunate to have my call answered by Eliana (I hope that I have spelled this lady's name correctly). No-one could possibly have been more friendly, helpful nor intuitive. She was offering us extras for our room before I even had the chance to ask! Amazing! In fact, once we arrived, we found that the whole team was fantastic! Fortunately, our room was not one which Premier Inn has refurbished and so still retained its large desk and useful wardrobe. The free Wi-Fi was fast enough to stream YouTube at all times and the hotel is conveniently located upon York's ring road but only a short drive from the city centre.”

“Great location with the park and ride just up the road. Lovely clean room. Good parking and the breakfast was really good. The pub opposite is nothing to do with the premier inn, so no meal deals available, but it was lovely and the food was great.”

Found they have a more authentic menu with Chinese dishes on the other side of the menu. Had a lovely noodle dish. The waitress went and checked the ingredients for me.”

Food is no longer collect from the conveyor due to covid, but order via a QR code, even though the app wasn't working properly, order went through and made fresh to order. Highly recommended!”

“Excellent service from the staff yesterday. Somehow I managed to order a pizza with no cheese (blasphemy!!) and didn't realise until it was too late to add it and they had already cooked my pizza. I had asked to order another one and forfeit the money as it was my mistake and they offered to remake my pizza for me free of charge. Obviously the look of disappointment of a cheesless pizza on my face said it all, I couldn't cope with eating a pizza with no cheese! And best of all it was piping hot, fresh, and delicious!!
