“Went on a Saturday lunch in a group of 4 so were lucky enough to try most of the menu. Every single thing we had was so tasty! Even the potatoes! One of the best restaurants I've been to in a while. We even got all 5 desserts as we couldn't choose :) only feedback I would give is the homemade crumpet had a little too much cheese on and needed something sharp to balance it. Still an 11/10 will be back! Thank you for a lovely birthday meal!”
“Was excited to come here after enjoying a couple of meals at Empire Cafe. I might have actually enjoyed the meal here more! Some particular highlights were the homemade black pudding, cold cut smoked beef, sausage roll and BBQ carrots. Service was very fast, and staff were relaxed and friendly. Only warning would be that some of the larger plates were very large (think schnitzel bigger than your face), so bring someone hungry to share with!”
“The food is tasty and filling and the atmosphere is cosy and intimate, but the best part is that the owners are so affable and kind. You feel more like you're at your mate's eating something they whipped up for you rather than a corporate environment.”
“We went here on a Thursday evening, and it was packed. Welcome was wonderful, and we were seated quickly, and drinks arrived soon after. Opted for the tuna carpaccio, sword fish, and prawn pasta, followed by the Lemoncello baked cheesecake. All was delicious, the fresh pasta extremely so. We would absolutely go again. I would recommend booking early, we arrived at 19:00 and it was just about right.”
“Delicious home cooked Polish food! The pork stew was really flavourful, with tender meat. The potato dumplings was the right texture and pairs really well with the sauce and stew. The sour rye soup was absolutely delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend!”
“Absolutely beautiful food. Everything about the experience was wonderful. Will definitely be back.”
“Very decent place, went few times. My little boy wont eat spicy food, so he was offered lovely plain chicken meal. They do lovely tea and coffee. Can highly recommend it.”
“Less than £6 for fish and chips is a real bargain, very nice. Had gravy with mine as always, and saw the scallops were only 50p so added one of those on as well. Will return!”
“We visited yesterday and both had the mill stack breakfast with a cappuccino each. The breakfast was delicious. Good fresh produce. Cooked to perfection. The coffee was delicious we even took one home. The Staff were fabulous really friendly. The cafe was very busy a tell tale sign that it’s a good place to go. We will definitely be back. Thank you Millstack.”
“Beautiful little cafe with friendly staff who were attentive and made sure everything was ok. The sandwiches were great and tasted fresh, along with a nice side salad. Lovely Yorkshire tea too”
“Love this place, amazing staff. Always as great bands on and now does food”
“Saw this on Facebook. Made a detour to try it out. Well worth it. Lovely bacon and sausage sandwich, cooked perfectly. Nice cuppa with a Biscof biscuit on the side. Very friendly, family run. Was well worth the detour. Highly recommend “The Village Kitchen”. Keep up the good work. Won’t be long before I make another detour to visit again. Thanks.”
“What a fantastic and different place to stay! Nestled right beside the river Nidd and the viaduct in the heart of Knaresborough, this is truly a special place to stay. Equipped with its own private hit tub that is not overlooked, it's a little bit of well needed luxury. Mike the host can't do enough for you to ensure that your stay is extra special.”
“We attended yesterday after the owner kindly reserved a table of 6 at short notice on a busy Sunday afternoon. Boothwood Inn is a very warm/welcoming place and very nice decor inside. The staff were very friendly and always happy to assist with anything, the owner takes time to speak with most people and is a very nice genuine guy. I ordered the roast beef dinner and I would honestly say this was one of the best dinners I have had (I told the owner I like fatty/well done beef) and when my dinner was brought out he also brought out a side plate of well done beef for me. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. 10/10 for everything.”
“My boyfriend and I visit this place now and then as its just down the road from us. It's usually quiet at weekends but the food has always been excellent. The staff are very friendly and its a very modern, comfortable venue. Also they have a very sweet, well behaved pub dog. Would recommend.”
“Gorgeous food and great people creating and maintaining ome of the best vibes and atmospheres in a beautiful little coffee house. All are welcome is their motto and you can tell, you feel welcome from the first moment you step through the door . Thank you for looking after us”
“Honestly don’t have enough good words to say about Gray’s. The food, the coffee, the staff, the atmosphere… just everything is SO lovely. We are always so welcomed when we arrive, and the amazing team (that create the best food and drinks) can’t do enough for you. Also recently loving their hot honey hash browns and bobby dazzler specials! Best café in Rothwell, by far.”
“What a great find in Headingley, just like I remember eating in Malaysia, very authentic The chicken satay was so good and loaded with pean Nasi lemek and chicken goreng also deserve a mention Great value and just bring along your own bottle of wine or beer”
“My wife and I had lunch and what a lovely meal it was. As it is a French restaurant I had Fish soup and it didn't disappoint. I have not had Fish soup for a long time and it brought all the memories back from going to France on holiday. I had Calves liver for my main course and it was beautiful. The price was good and reasonable. Would I recommend and return, I definitely would. If you like my honest reviews please follow me as I review on a regular basis.”
“This place in my 33 years of eating around West Yorkshire is by far the best Sarny shop about. There is no equal! Every bit of homemade food here is made with rich ingredients, and everything looks incredible. The breakfast wrap (see photos) is impeccable, and I have found no other place in leeds or Wakefield that does it better. The shop is run by a hard grafting owner who has put his everything into this business, and it shows. I travel from Wakefield to Leeds just to eat at Franklin's because I know what I'm getting consistently, and it's that good! Would highly recommend coming for a Brekkie or lunch when you want to treat you and your friends. I'd rate this place 10 stars if I could! Thank you”
“My old mate Phil from Bass House in Ponty runs The Houghton now I was very pleased to find out recently. Couldn't be in safer hands, great atmosphere, nice locals and a genuinely pleasant local pub, great beer too, loads of sports, great prices. You won't be disappointed so go check it out. Graham.”
“Amazing restaurant that serves delicious food with exceptional staff. Only one down fall , selection of desserts were minimum. The place has great vibes and it’s a definite revisit , I’d like to try the afternoon.”
“Called in with my wife on Friday afternoon whilst visiting Pontefract. Lovely friendly landlady and a great selection of cask ales, will be back soon.”
“An absolutely wonderful experience with truly delicious food. The wild mushroom soup was a solid 12/10 absolutely outstanding! The rabbit liver could have been a bit crunchier, but the flavor was still excellent. My cousin had the “Gypsy-style pancake” and it was also absolutely delicious. The restaurant’s atmosphere and interior design are beautiful, and the view of the river makes it even more special. It was also great to chat with the staff in Polish - such a nice touch when you’re abroad and can still hear your native language while enjoying authentic, high-quality Polish cuisine. The service was superb: attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended!”
“Excellent Italian cuisine with fair prices in the heart of York - perfectly located close to Shambles in a beautiful medieval building. Welcoming staff and chef, well recommended! They also offer a very worthy kid's lunch menu.”
“I visited Cafe No 8 before Covid and really loved the food. They shorten their operation hours after Covid and we finally made it for Sunday lunch today. We had a starter, mains and dessert. The food was just as good as I remembered. Service was good too. This place just celebrated their 20 years' anniversary in York which tells you that they got to be good to last that long given the ultra competitive food scene here. The food was of top quality, refined and cooked with care. We had beef and pork tenderloin and they were so tender. The potatoes were roasted perfectly. And we had a selection of vegetables (Broccolini, Parsnip, Carrots, Spring Onions etc) not over cooked like many places. And I was so glad to try the Dark Belgian Chocolate Truffle with Black Sesame Ice Cream. I love black sesame ice cream but is a rarity to find them in York. I wish I could buy a tub of their black sesame ice cream and bring it home. If you are looking for a place with a relaxed atmosphere, serving non-pretentious and delicious food, I recommend Cafe No 8 Bistro.”
“Great place to eat. Great staff. Food is the best in Wakefield without a doubt. Keep up the good work guys”
“Brilliant bar in Wakefield, great choice of beers, brilliant staff and always a warm welcome. One of Camras top pubs in the area, a must visit”
“Mr. Dear (Dominic Powles) I'm worried about it. I don't know which staff cut your hair But if you knew you didn't like your hair, why didn't you tell them to fix it? we are the cheapest I'm sorry, You came too late. Around half 6 o'clock We told you it was closed. You refused”
“What a lovely and warm, welcoming and gorgeous gem of a pub. Kath Mark and all the other staff were exactly what you want in a public houses staff; Friendly, chatty and able to pull a pint. The beer garden is ample in space. The interior is clean and homely, a proper nice pub in a lovely part of the world. I have visited the pub 3 weeks on the trot for the last 3 Wednesdays to attend the acoustic music evening (From 7.45pm onwards)- If you want to hear great music or participate in a real, good old fashioned open session with some fantastic players this is the place for you. You don't have to be the best singer, guitarist, fiddle player or percussionist to join in, just be respectful when others are playing and join in if you like, just how it should be. I would definitely class the Bay Horse music night as one of the best I've been to, period. Great environment, great people, a local affair that welcomes visitors. They don't serve food, neither do they need to- It is perfect as it is.”
