“Gorgeous little coffee shop right near the Shambles Market, and the perfect place to escape a cold York afternoon and warm yourself with a hot beverage. The Bailey's hot chocolate really hit the spot, and my partner really enjoyed his bacon and brie toastie. The vibe is cosy and perfect for parties of 2, but seating is limited at lunchtime, especially for parties any larger than 4. Many parties of 3 or more were getting turned away or split over multiple tables.”

“I was looking for a delicate bracelet to compliment my dress for my sons wedding. Rowan, who served me, was so helpful. She asked whether I had a photo of my outfit and what I had in mind. I was looking for inspiration and she delivered! Choosing four bracelets that were absolutely stunning and within budget I really struggled to choose just one! Therefore, I bought three, two for me and one as a gift for my future daughter-in-law (see photo). She modelled the bracelets for me and patiently looked at which two bracelets commented each other. She was so helpful and I found the whole experience really enjoyable. Also bought some diamond stud earings. A free tote bag finished my purchases. Well done to this store. They know what customer service looks like”

“Note this is now a "Brown and Gold" branch. My friend wrecked a masonic ring of sentimental value. We only went in the shop while on a weekend break to York and are very glad we did. The staff (and the owner!) were very good and organised the estimate, then the repair and then sending the ring to us at the other end of the country. We are very happy with the craftsmanship. If every company and organisation could match these standards, life would be a dream!”
