“A huge thank you to the brewery for a incredible baby shower. From start to finish, it was well communicated and easy to book. The effort that was put in was amazing and it looked incredible on arrival. The afternoon tea was delicious and everyone commented saying how lovely it was. I can’t thank Sarah and the team enough. Would highly recommend. Took so much pressure off that they did all the set up themselves. Thank you again!”
“Best breakfast in Leicester!! Always welcoming and always a pleasure. This cafe is a true gem. If you want gorgeous food, great service and value for money this is a place not to miss!”
“Such lovely ladies serving delicious food and drinks with a smile. Lots of seating, inside or outside, shady or in the sunny garden. Lots of GF available.”
“Great quirky cafe upstairs above art shop, only ever had Latte Coffee and Cake £6.95 ( Jan 2024). Pleasant attentive staff make my Dog and myself very welcome”

“Lovely conveniently located place to eat. We had the full English and mochas. The breakfast was great with eggs cooked to perfection with a choice of poached, fried etc. The sausages were spicy and well flavoured and there was plenty of the delicious beef bacon. The mocha was delicious and lovely artwork too. The staff were polite and the setting with booths is excellent.”
“Lovely food and friendly staff. Nice and cozy”
“Beautiful little Hidden Gem in Leicestershire well worth a visit. Book early for alpaca walk as it’s very popular in summer months. Tea room is big and spacious and great food too. Dog friendly site throughout.”
“Went down for a look because I was working in the area, besides the Great Central Way and the Aylestone Packhorse Bridge there isn’t much to chose between what was the best about being here… Then there was Kings Lock Bridge 104, Lock 38 and the Kings Lock Tearooms … I only had time for a Latte, which was absolutely perfect. I loved the staff, immediately took my order, the setting is perfect, dripping with history and all in a setting fit for… what for it… A King (or whoever it is you desire to be!)”
“Absolutely beautiful tea for two for a special occasion, we were sat in a bay window with a nice view. The food was freshly made with a perfect blend of sweet and savoury dishes. Our waitress was very pleasant and friendly but not overly so and left us to enjoy our tea. So much food we couldn't finish it all so they were perfectly happy to put it in a box for us to take home. Highly recommend.”
“Regular drinking hole. Great selection of beers and massive beer garden meaning plenty of room to drink and enjoy the sunshine. Very family friendly pub. Only small wrinkle is the bar is quite small so often quite a big queue, but the staff are super fast at serving (and super friendly). Never eaten here, but there's always loads of people dining. Carpark quite small but ample off road parking nearby. Updated my review in August 25 having now eaten at the Queen Vic. Popped in for lunch on a Friday. Pub wasn't busy so no trouble getting a table. Menu offered plenty of choice, lots of pub classics and some lighter options as well. We were served quickly (helpful as teenage sons were starving) and food was delicious. Would happily eat here again. You can eat in the main pub or the restaurant building out back...that building serves the carvery.”
“I have visited Mrs Bridges Tea Rooms and the chip sandwich was satisfying comfort food experience. The sandwich offered a great crunch from the chips, which contrasted with tasty bacon and a little kick from harissa. It's perfect for when you're craving something savoury and satisfying and you're in the mood for a guilty pleasure.”
“Really enjoyed the Kinder waffle and Vanilla milkshake. The waffle tasted heavenly and milkshake was thick and creamy. The atmosphere was very nice and calm. My daughter loved the pancakes, with berries. So soft and fluffy! Will definitely be coming again soon”
“We had a lovely lunch and coffee here. First of all the space and atmosphere are amazing, nicely laid out tables and a range of seating. We had a salad and jacket potato and both were excellent as was the coffee and date flap jack. Service was top notch. We will be back for sure. By 2.00 Sat is was getting pretty full which is a good sign too”
“Out of all the chains and independents this one always stands out for me! Amazing flavours and toppings and decent coffee made by a local business. Reward system is great and staff are always approachable and friendly”
“Love this place , always come in and have a coffee with my mum . Staffs are very warm and friendly ! Coffees are very nice as well ! Foods are very good ! Highly recommend !!!”
“Been coming here for years for take away cobs and always fresh, hot and tasty. Had a sit in breakfast today which was beautiful. Always friendly staff and fresh cooked food. If you want a posh cafe go elsewhere. If you want proper old school cafe with hot fresh food that’s not shoved in a microwave then come here and support your local small business.”
“Absolutely brilliant value. Fast service and really good food!! The Big breakfast is banging!!”
“Pennbury has a lovely cheerful vibe and is a great place for food and drinks. There is a dog friendly area inside which is appreciated on a cold day! I mainly visit to have coffees which are always hot and served quickly. When I have eaten the portion sizes are good, the food very tasty and always presented nicely on the plate. All the staff are friendly and polite and Amy does a great job in making you feel welcome when you arrive. Feel very lucky to have Pennbury so close by and would definitely recommend as a great place for food and drink.”
“We recently had the pleasure of dining at Brownes cafe at Allandale road recently with my work colleagues and I must say, it was an impeccable experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly by the gentleman don't remember his name. He was not only friendly and very attentive throughout the service. The food was incredibly tasty. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavours. Especially chicken pie was a culinary delight. The menu offered a great variety for everyone. Beyond the food , service was brilliant too. Overall they have exceeded our expectations. If you are looking for a place that delivers both outstanding food and top notch service this is the place to visit for sure. We will certainly be returning soon! Thank you Brownes..”
“Such a great place! The service is always fantastic and the lattes are amazing. We loved it so much we came back every day during our trip. Definitely recommend!”
