“We couldn’t ask for better Chinese food! This place lives up to its reputation and we feel so close to home thanks to their heavenly cooking. The crispy pork belly is so crispy and soft that it melts in your mouth. The roast duck and BBQ pork is cooked to perfection. Eat them with fried rice, just wow! The service is so nice with bright smiles. We’ll come back often!”

“I just wanted to leave a positive review here and say that I enjoyed my stay. Was greeted by a friendly receptionist who kindly let me check in an hour earlier as my room was ready. I was given room 216 which was perfect.I didn't hear a sound from anywhere.Had a lovely peaceful sleep.The room was cosy.I would be very happy to stay here again. I was worried about the lift working after reading previous reviews,but it worked fine when I was there.”

The Paneer Shashlik was a standout, with perfectly grilled paneer and a tantalizing blend of spices that left us craving more. The Paneer Kadhai was rich and flavorful, with tender paneer chunks in a beautifully spiced gravy that was perfect with the naan. The Kofta was another highlight, featuring melt-in-your-mouth koftas in a creamy, aromatic sauce that was simply divine. “Amazing service from the time i entered to when i left, always there to get you anything you needed but never felt like they were lingering and not once did they disturb the conversation, brilliant! The food itself was very good and really felt like what italian should be and for the high quality the price is more than reasonable.”

“Xmas meal group booking on 10th December at the Friary .The booking was for 23 people who are not easily pleased !!!! The whole experience from start to finish was great . The standard of the meal &service provided by everyone was excellent especially under the challenging circumstances as it was the day of the world cup quarter finals . All of our party said it was the best meal we had eaten and that goes back many ye The table decorations and the reserved area of dining surpassed our expectations . The whole of the team were great from waiting staff to bar staff and not forgetting the kitchen staff behind the scenes .They were all very professional ,friendly and good ambassadors for your venue . Nothing seemed to much trouble for anyone . I can definitely say the whole of the team at The Friary went above and beyond for us We will not hesitate to use you for any future events and also for ad hoc visits /dining .”

“Booked very late at night after a delayed flight when we were desperate for sleep. We arrived at midnight to a very friendly greeting and were quickly checked in and told which facilities were still open. Same chap checked us out, again friendly and quick. Room was nice (nicer than we expected truth be told!) with extremely comfortable bed and well fitted bathroom. I would stay again if I was in the area.”

“I didn't stay as a guest, we attended a convention there. And the place was absolutely stunning, so many pretty details. The rooms were really spacious, and laid out so disability access was nice. There were lifts as we as stairs, and it was a wonderful day. There were plenty of places to sit and rest as needed.”
