“Friendly cinema club, take your own drinks and snacks and pay cash at the door. You even get to vote on the films”
“Well organised with friendly staff. A fantastic night of world class acting in Liverpool.”
“Past Productions provided an fabulous one day Crime and Punishment workshop to our UKS2 class. The children had a great time handling artefacts, role playing and playing games to deepen their knowledge and understanding of this topic. Huge thanks to performer Luke, who inspired the children with his enthusiasm for the subject and his endless, amazing facts. Highly recommended.”
“Boss experience. Staff were really helpful guiding you through your first time, and it was easy to pick up yourself once you start. The games were great. Plenty of free parking outside and we had turned up in mid-Jan so thought it might be cold in there but it was fine. Deffo be going back again.”
“I went to see Jamie on the opening night and it certainly didn't disappoint. As a huge Jamie fan and seeing it in theatre across the UK numerous times, I couldn't miss the opportunity to go to see the young talented people in the OTMYT. I was blown away with the whole show, and what they can do at this level. Jamie's mum had an unbelievable voice, as did Pritti. I admire the confidence of each and every one of them, and I hope to see some of them over the years in bigger theatres! Well done all, cast and crew. I'll be back again for another show.”
“Had a tv wall mount, called on Tuesday, had an appointment for the next day. Customer focused, kind, reassuring, flexible, diligent, work focused, all around great service. Very reasonably priced and very helpful. Would highly recommend. Thank you”
“Amazing staff at the theatre, always kind and welcoming. Great show from Glenn Moore.”
“The Empire Theatre in Blackburn is a charming blend of historic character and modern comfort, making it a standout venue for both locals and visitors. Atmosphere: The restored Edwardian façade and plush interior give the theatre a warm, intimate feel. The red velvet seats and ornate plasterwork create a classic cinema vibe while still feeling fresh thanks to recent upgrades. Screen & Sound: The 4K digital projector delivers crisp, vibrant images, and the Dolby Atmos sound system immerses the audience without overwhelming dialogue. Even in the back rows, the picture remains sharp and the audio clear. Seating: With 400 seats, the theatre isn’t too large, which helps maintain a personal experience. The seats are comfortably padded, and the legroom is generous compared to many chain cinemas. Food & Drink: The on‑site café offers a solid selection of snacks—popcorn, nachos, and a surprisingly good range of hot drinks. Prices are reasonable, and the staff are friendly and efficient. Programming: The Empire balances mainstream blockbusters with independent films, occasional live events, and community screenings. This variety keeps the schedule interesting and supports local culture. Accessibility: Wheelchair access is well‑implemented, with designated seating and easy entry. Assistive listening devices are available on request. Overall impression: The Empire Theatre delivers a high‑quality cinematic experience in a historic setting, combining comfort, technology, and community spirit. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking to enjoy a film or event in Blackburn.”
“My daughter and her friends said this was the perfect start to their yr 6 leavers prom. Great communication throughout the booking process! They arrived early, friendly driver and the limo was immaculate. I'd definitely use this company again.”
“Nice, cosy theatre, with wide, comfy seats, and lots of leg room. Staff are friendly and helpful, and there's a good selection of drinks and snacks in the bar areas.”
“Snips Movies is a great place, not only if you want to rent or buy movies, but also for their wide range of very reasonably priced cards. I’m in there frequently and I always find the proprietor very good to do business with. One example of this occurred today (Fri 27/6/2025): the previous day I had bought an 80th birthday card but couldn’t find it when I got home; I thought I must have dropped it somewhere and lost it. So today I returned, intending to buy another identical card; however as soon as I walked into the shop the proprietor said “You left your card behind!” and handed me the card. Wasn’t that good?! At the very least he’s as honest as the day is long, and has a brilliant memory…”
“Lovely Matcham designed theatre in the centre of Blackpool. More character than more modern theatrical venues. Good sight lines. I sat halfway back in the stalls and could see the stage clearly. I'm tall and had enough leg room to be comfortable. Beautiful decor; traditional with a lovely, ornate painted ceiling. If you are going to a long show (2 hours plus), you might want to take a cushion as the seats have little or no padding.”
“Went to see Romeo and Juliet. Excellent theatre, friendly staff . Would recommend”
“Great venue for gigs. Great atmosphere. Reasonable price for the drinks is a bonus.”
“Phenomenal show at this amazing venue. Went to see The Scouse Christmas carol which was very well staged with live musicians on stage and brilliantly funny actors..set me up for Christmas. Good bar area and balcony and an area for coffees etc too.”
“Lovely theatre, modern, spacious, well equipped, located right alongside a canal with it's associated wildlife. The cafe is good value, and the cakes and shortbread are outstanding. Plenty of staff around to help. Currently undergoing some building works, which will further improve access. This is our new favourite theatre, despite us living on the doorstep of the Shakespeare North, which is working had to out-price itself, while offering far inferior (although "authentic") bloody uncomfortable seating. Highly recommended !”
“First experience at the theatre it was great. The venue was small but intimate. The suppprt staff were very supportive and recognised those individuls who need help. The play was light, funny and very interactive with the audience getting involved at every opportunity. A Memerable experience. Thank you for wonderful experience.”
“Lovely green place to visit. Clean and tidy. If you’re dog walker then it must be kept on a lead. Even good place for river views. God place for children to play. It must be lovely day out in summer for a picnic not bad in autumn either. Worth to visit and have a walk at the edge of river”
“Beautiful theatre with excellent facilities and really friendly helpful staff. A brilliant show too!”
“Thank you for an accessible experience! We were visiting Southport as we do at least once a year from stockport. Our usual changing places toilets were closed (market hall). We were amazed to find one here so close to the other. A kind lady working there (didnt catch her name sorry) escorted us to the changing places on the first floor. We were a little pushed for time but now we know this is here we will be visiting properly to view the exhibitions. A stunning building too.”
