“We had a function in the pub and it was a great experience. We had a dedicated function room separated from the main pub. The atmosphere both in the pub and in the function room are really lovely and the fireplaces give just the perfect place for a cosy dinner. Food was truly amazing. Great portions and quality food from the appetisers throughout the meal. Tagliatelle were cooked to perfection and the sea bass with the lemon sauce was mouthwatering. All through the meal, the sauces were just amazing. All the staff was really friendly and we had a great night out.”

“This was great time spent at Zizzi for my daughter's 18th Birthday. Best place in Newbury we chosen to celebrate birthday with her 15 friends. Great Hospitality, excellent ambiance, friendly staff and needless to say excellent food and beverages. “We were visiting the area for the weekend celebrating 50th birthday. La Table D'Alix was a salivating experience which we really enjoyed. A lovely warm welcome by the restaurant owners Antoine and their staff. Very helpful and informative on the menus and ingredients. En attendant - Freshly baked bread buns with local butter. Saucisson, a generous sliced cured meat with hazelnuts and gherkins. Tasted very nice and was good whilst the chef prepared and cooked our order. I ordered a Raspberry Cosmopolitan which was served with an orange peel lighted then served in the cocktail to release the orange zest aroma. Starters - Cheese soufflé, soft tasty and Cheesy and the accompanying sauce was delicious. Sea scallops, tender, went beautifully with the pancetta and celery micro greens. Mains - Cod, again tender soft and flaky, curry sauce not overpowering, very nice flavour. Hunters Chicken, tenderly cooked and moist with flavourful olive tapenade and basil, the kale was seasoned well and crisp. The Romanesco nicely charred. Desserts - Tarte tartin, sweet pastry with caramelised fruit. Chocolat surprise, oh my word this was soo good! A Chocolate mouse that had a praline biscuit base that resembled maltesers flavour, the mouse was gorgeous and I loved the caramelised crispy zest decorated on top which gave the dessert a hint of sweet lemons. The Staff pleasantly surprised by adding a sparkler candle to my husband's dessert and singing Happy Birthday which was really thoughtful, kind and made the occasion special. Thank you so much! :-) Wines - Upon asking the restaurant owner advice on wines, I had a glass of white wine which was light and fragrant. It accompanied the chicken very well. I also had a dessert wine which was again light, softly sweet and fragrant. We have dined at a few Mitchelin restaurants and this has been an overall very pleasant experience. The Bill was in my view very reasonable for fine dining. I liked that the owner's family participated in the dining experience and it reminded me of time spent in France dining with family and friends. Thank you.”

“Easily the best food I've ordered for delivery! This Italian is gorgeous and goes the extra mile with packaging the food up, chilli oil for the pizza and popcorn to snack on! The truffle pizza was full of flavour but the arancini was easily the best. Really recommend this place:) definitely going to reorder”

“The food here was excellent as always. Starters were prompt, and delicious, I had cheese souffle, my husband had a duo of pate, both were a good size. The main was course was also fantastic, chicken with a pernod sauce, and my husband had venison. We really should have stopped there as we were actually full, but sight of tarte tatin on the desert menu tempted us. It was delicious, but I couldn't finish it, such was the size of the portions. We also had a bottle of house Merlot which was very good. Service was prompt and polite, it really is a delightful treat to eat at Pierre Victoire!”

“A surprise dinner booked by hubby. The restaurant is cosy with proper tablecloths. The mirrors on the walls make it look bigger but it was lovely. Staff are friendly, menu was quite extensive in choice and they still had specials available. Choices were beef carpaccio- veal - cauliflower cheese - minestrone soup and lam in mushroom and red wine sauce , potato’s and mixed veg…. It all tasted really good - we will be back”

“Group of 5 of us went to celebrate our daughters Birthday. She was the only one that had been before. The food was amazing! Even the prawn crackers were the best we’ve ever tasted. I had the salt and pepper chilli mushrooms to start and the chilli and basil stir fry with slow cooked beef as my main course. We can’t recommend the Giggling Squid highly enough. The staff were great too - so were the cocktails! Will definitely be coming again soon.”
