“Honestly exceeded all expectations. Wonderful vibes. All the humans are friendly and welcoming. Good coffee. Pizza and baguettes were freshly prepared and delicious. Brilliant details - cloud lightshades against a bright blue ceiling, emerald tabletops, creative cakes, fab eclectic playlist, and rainbows everywhere. Serves Camden brewery beers, and has some cracking cocktail ingredients. Totally loved it.”
“A fantastic place to stay, can't wait to go back! I was travelling with a baby so emailed ahead to check suitability. The staff were very helpful and suggested I book the Stables as it's a separate building to the others. The room was very spacious; even with a cot, pushchair and changing mat in the room there was still plenty of space for me to pace around in the middle of the night. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was amazing. I love a hot shower and am usually disappointed, but here I had to turn the water down which is very rare. The bed seemed a bit soft to start with but actually was very comfy, and there was no noise from the pub aside from twice we heard another guest coming and going. The location was fab, with plenty of walks right on your doorstep and a short distance to Bakewell I'd definitely recommend and would stay here again in a heartbeat”
“The second I walked into the Maynard I knew we had to have our wedding there. The whole team have excellent communication from the original booking process, smooth transitions and organisation from the morning getting ready to the end of the day and the food was beautiful. We live in Thailand so have been planning the wedding from abroad but the team at the Maynard have been accommodating with communication, online meetings and answering 1 million questions and requests from me via email. Do not hesitate to book your wedding here, you will not regret it!”
“We stayed one very windy night and had dinner with six friends. The room was polished and shiny, such a comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Dinner as always (we have eaten here before) was a real treat. I had the steak pie, I think my best ever!! You can’t go wrong with a stay here.”
“Wonderful place to go and visit. I tried the egg yolk coffee which was a sweet treat if not a little different! What a blast! Can’t wait to try the food next time. Amazing staff amazing coffee. Tried so many including the guest espresso flat white - traditional Vietnamese condensed drip. All was amazing.”
“Very nice food and friendly staff. No set breakfast as such, choose the items you would like. I had 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 fried bread (naughty but very nice) and tined tomatos. Lots more to choose from as well. Wife had vegetarian that looked and was fab. Nice coffee. Highly recommended.”
“Warm, cozy and calm vibes, friendly staffs, the foods smell good, we sat close to the kitchen. I went here with my friends, they loved the menu due to the juicy meats and big portion, also with reasonable price. We also got milky chai, flat white and yellow smoothie (mango).”
“Gorgeous artisan bakery serving unreal sweet treats, sourdough sandwiches and coffee. Nestled in the heart of Kelham, it’s the perfect spot to while away an hour or two. I regularly visit but my personal favourite treats have been their Salt Beef and Swiss Cheese Sandwich and their Caramel Popcorn Canelés.”
“Lovely to see this pub reopen!! Great cosy local with brill food and fab views.”
“Lovely place with a variety of animals and a good coffee. dog friendly. Great for a day out. They also do very fun events and workshops so it’s worth checking out what’s on! Also selling plants, manure, eggs etc”
“Blown away by how kind the service was. One of the staff could see I was struggling to eat as I had my newborn with me and offered to take care of my son for a short while so I could eat for a few minutes. Food was great too, crayfish Caesar salad and full English are definitely worth trying. Coffee was also 10/10.”
“phenomenal food with lots of flavour. have tried a variety of items from the menu, all being very tasty and everything halal. they have just recently started selling breakfast which tastes amazing. the food is great quality and they offer good portion sizes, good value for money. the atmosphere was nice and the staff are very friendly. the service is relatively quick and easy to order, either online or in person.”
“Food = BEER Only a 10 % Porter available so opted for old school BODDINGTONS - nice pint. Quite busy 8.30 pm on a Monday night.”
“Out first time visiting in over a year. Came for a Birthday/anniversary meal as a family. Food was really good and really big portion sizes for the price! Booked in advance to sit up in the orchard room as its much quieter so I'd recommend that!”
“All four of us were impressed with the quality of the food. Tasted delicious. The staff attended when required and were polite and answered questions efficiently. Excellent meal out around”
“Really nice little spot, we visited a week ago and had a couple of baguettes. The bacon and sausage were cooked perfectly. The coffee was great as was the Yorkshire Tea.”
“Visited on a Friday at 2pm and was welcomed with a hello and asked how many people we needed a table for (2 of us) and were seated straight away. We had a hot drink each (double cappuccino and a pot of tea), toasted fruit loaf, cherry scone with all the trimmings, a slice of coffee and walnut cake and a slice of cherry almond cake. The food was delicious and served promptly. Good selection of cakes on display which all looked delicious, it was hard to choose which one to have! Lovely little space and very friendly staff who served with a smile. Our bill came to a total of £26 which for what we ordered was a reasonable price.”
“Lovely place. Good food, served quickly. Quick friendly service from the staff. recently had a refurb with new tables, chairs and cutlery which are all nice. a good idea to book as its often full but there is outside seating and takeaway options”
“First time visit Sunday 5 Oct 2025 -wife and I - I had the full English breakfast the wife had Quiche - served very quickly, the food was delicious would definitely recommend and revisit- sat outside as it was a lovely autumnal day - parked the car 100m up the road in the free car park Sorry for the short sharp sentences I was distracted whilst writing this review but don’t worry about that just get yourself down and grab some decent food and drinks”
“Great breakfast with amazing gluten free bread rolls… to the point we had to double check they were gluten free! Good coffee. There was a mistake with our order which was sorted without fuss and we were given a free drink which was kind.”
“A favourite that I've been coming back to for several years now. Real gem of a cafe and worth every penny! Flavourful dishes, with a great selection of vegetarian/vegan mains and hot drinks. I love the scrambled tofu, sourdough toast and cacao hot chocolate. Can get very busy over the weekend, so it is advisable to arrive a little earlier to beat the lunchtime rush.”
“Hidden gem. Great place for a cuppa and a cake or for a full lunch. Yorkshire platter and loaded wedges were both fantastic. Brownie was to die for too. Lovely seating inside and out with animals outside. Can walk to Roche Abbey from there, great dog walking place. Dog friendly inside and out.”
“Tasty English breakfast, nice ingredients. The internal yard is pretty cool, you can park you bike”
“Been visiting Sheffield for 40 years, walked past the entrance many times. My loss. A wonderful oasis of quality food and human kindness. Family run, and it shows. Will definitely return.”
“Lovely little café that serves a good selection of food, dog friendly area too. Looks like it'll be cosy in winter with the log burners on too.”
“We absolutely love it here. The food is always delicious and freshly cooked. The staff are so welcoming, polite and friendly and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend a visit to experience just how lovely it is.”
“Great fish and chips, nice freshly cut chips, flakey and crispy fish, and nice curry sauce. Generous portion size and great taste.”
“Loved this hidden gem! I'm so happy we found this place almost by accident! The food was fantastic. Super fresh fish and shellfish, expertly cooked. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It needs to be better known but I almost wish it was a secret for just those who love their seafood dishes.”
“Went with a friend who goes here regularly, luckily we had a reservation as ours was the only table available, the waitress said it would be a 30 minute wait, we both had a small breakfast, absolutely delicious, staff friendly and professional, will definitely recommend and return”
