βOh, La Trattoria Da Vincenzo! β I must record my impressions before the last taste fades and the memory settles too gently into nostalgia, for never have I encountered a little corner of Italy so full of life and warmth, even amidst the steady drizzle of an English evening. From the instant I crossed its modest threshold, I felt as though I had stumbled into someoneβs home β not a restaurant, but a gathering of dear friends who simply happened to be excellent cooks. The light fell softly through the glass, warm and golden, casting a cheerful glow over the tables, each adorned with just enough elegance to suggest refinement, yet never the stiffness that often mars such places.β
βThis was a recommendation from a friend and it was worth the hour and a half drive! The story I was told was that the chef was a Michelin star chef working in London, who was sick of the rat race and relocated to Matlock in Derbyshire. My partner and I opted for the 7 course taster menu and what a sensation that was. EVERY dish was an explosion in the mouth of complimentary flavours and textures. With the appetisers, the sour dough bread and the mous bouches , it turned out to be almost 10 courses. Just look at the photos! Unbelievable! The location is beautiful too. The outside terrace overlooks the river and the sounds of the water creates at truly romantic setting. The staff were excellent too and Iβm surprised that Stones doesnβt already have a Michelin star! Out of this world and I would recommend everyone that likes food to try it! @ Β£80 per person, it is an absolute bargain. For food like this you would pay double that in London!β
βtravelled to Sheffield for work and popped in here for breakfast. received a warm welcome from the team. very extensive breakfast menu: excellent coffee and good sized portions, all freshly prepared. will definitely be back next time I'm visiting the city!β
βReally cannot praise Kia's Restaurant enough. The starters and main were completely outstanding! Each dishes delicate flavours/ textures are cooked to perfection. One of the best restaurants in Sheffield, service is superb and attention to detail amazing. Every time we visit we feel welcomed and have the best dining experience possible.β
βWe recently visited Sheffield and discovered this lovely Taiwanese restaurant, and we're so glad we did! The food here is really delicious and authentic. We tried the fried chicken bento, spicy braised beef brisket, fried tofu, and of course, a classic bubble tea - we loved everything! The food was full of flavor and you can really tell that the owners pour their heart into every dish they make. Plus, the Taiwanese vintage wallpaper inside was such a nice touch. It just reminded me of home. The owner is super friendly and was so helpful especially since we were traveling with our baby. Overall, it was such a wonderful experience at Yum Yum Bites, and we highly recommend it!β
βAbsolutely loved it the food was superb and service to went for my anniversary and it was lovely only thing is make sure u have the room portions are so big itβs so so good highly recommend will go again soonβ
βReally tasty fish and chips. The fish and batter was superb, the portions generous. Excellent all round. By far the best in Sheffield And Iβve tried a few. Keep up the good standards.β
βDelicious food and βjust rightβ service, what more could you ask for? We didnβt need to book (arrived 5:30 Sunday evening) but even on a soggy autumn Sunday it was getting popular before 6:30, so on other days like Friday or Saturday you might want to book.β
βWent with a friend last week, fantastic experience from start to finish. The food was great, and the service was brilliant. The young lady who treated us was lovely and really made us feel welcome. Highly recommended!β
βWe only came in off the street, no booking but they accommodated us. Food, drinks and particularly the food was just spectacular! This is by far the best Greek restaurant (feels like you're eating at home with family) we've been to. Fabulous. Great host. You need to eat here.β
βA hidden little gem of a place ... We've driven past this place many a times on our way to town - not thinking much of it.. it's a shame we didn't try it sooner! Food: Fantastically tasty food, which was prompt and well presented. On the first visit, there was a substitute on my tagliatelle - but this is because it's all made fresh that day and we arrived one hour before closing. Tried a few different starters/sharing plates, both were beautiful and (as much as I know) tasted authentic. Each following visit has been equally beautiful food. Service: First time, we arrived an hour before closing (cause... Yolo and we were hungry) and they were still very welcoming and accommodating. We still weren't rushed to order out food, even with the time. Everyone was friendly, polite and helpful. On following visits, everyone has been beyond lovely on each visit ... Atmosphere: Decorated with little touches of Sicily - it has a nice ambience for the type of food and cuisine served. It can get a little loud, with the size of the room, but nothing to stop you visiting this beautiful little gem. Would definitely recommend and will continue to return.β
βGreat little hidden gem, very friendly owners great for family time out .we are not gluten free it would be nice to do a mixture of food for people that aren't gluten free ? great pricesβ
βHad food here. It was so good. Like really really good. I had the pizza and my partner had pie and mash. Portions were fair and the food was really good quality and fresh. No honestly it was, the pizza was amazing I really do recommend checking it out. They do vegan and gluten free options and the staff are really sweet and helpful too. The chips are so tasty. I am still thinking about them 50 minutes later. Dog friendly also.β
βI booked a solo dining experience on the kitchen bench at the end of August. This was my first foray into fine dining and I was not disappointed. From the moment I was greeted at the door, I was made to feel incredibly welcome. The taster menu and whole kitchen bench experience was just wonderful. It was more relaxed than I was expecting which suited me perfectly! The food was exceptional - I was presented with a wide range of dishes which gave me the opportunity to try things that I hadn't before and I enjoyed every moment. Whilst the food itself was wonderful, it was the restaurant and kitchen staff that really took my visit to another level. Everyone was very warm and friendly, not to mention attentive. I was looked after incredibly well, especially by John's team in the kitchen. Thank you for such a fantastic experience and I definitely plan to return.β
βGenuinely one of the nicest hot chocolates I have ever had. I travel a lot for work and itβs always nice to stop off to grab a bite or a hot drink so I have certainly found a good spot here. Staff were an absolute credit to the brand with excellent service, itβs so refreshing to see some staff not being scripted or robotic nowadays, they showed plenty of humour and personality. The owner Ross is also a real funny character! Certainly will be visiting again when Iβm passing by the area!β
βSecond visit & all positive. Interesting decor, prompt & friendly service, good music & vibe. (Only negative was a guy on his laptop chattering away, so that the whole of the cafe could hear his conversation. Pain - we donβt want to hear you.)β
βIf youβre in the area or fancy a detour, this is an absolute MUST! The atmosphere is perfect, cosy and full of character. Everyone working and visiting was so welcoming and kind. The food was outstanding and clearly made with love. I wish it was my local!! Cannot recommend enough!β
βDelicious food, lovely service, all at a great price. Would definitely recommend.β
βOrdered the sharer for two for delivery, it was fantastic. Loads of different stuff included. All the meat was SO tender, jerk chicken fell off the bone with tons of flavour, mutton curry was just a great comforting mutton curry! Cabbage was soft, dumplings were fluffy and had a nice sweet crust. Happy food. Will order again, thanks guys!β
βThere is now a lovely area to sit before your meal where you can enjoy a tasty glass of wine, cocktail or beer. The menu has many small plates to choose from. We had calamari, sardines and pumpkin tortellini. Before trying their larger plates of orechiette pasta and the chicken terrine. Everything had great flavour and served quickly. Will definitely be back again to try even more of the menu!!β
βJust want to say a huge thank you to all staff! I was nervous about coming in with two children (personal anxiety) but what a wonderful experience! The spooky milkshakes are a MUST!!! Food was divine! I couldnβt finished mine which was a shame as it was lush! The kids brought left overs home and they canβt wait to come back! Good value! Lovely afternoon Thanks to all staffβ
βIt's one of the best Thai restaurants going. When you eat here, it has a lovely warm atmosphere, the true authentic taste of traditional Thai spices flavours, and your tongue literally dances with each taste. I shall definitely recommend this place and would love to try something else from their delightful menu.β
βAmazing coffee, perfect place to stop before a long walk. They even filled up my flask for the rest of the journey.β
βBest restaurant I've been to in the area. The food is always great, the portion sizes are quite generous, the quality and taste are great. There could be more vegetarian options, one of our party is vegetarian, other than that small complaint everything was spot on.β
βDelicious food, wonderful staff, great little find in Lincoln. We were lucky to get a table as this place is only small. I'd advise booking! Preferred payment is cash, though we weren't aware and paid with a card which was fine. Will definitely go again.β
βWe visited this place a few years ago (we're not local) and remembered it as a postive experience so we decided to return. We had a great night- the sangria and tapas were great and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. A highlight of our weekend- thanks guys!β
βWonderful tasty brunch for vegetarian and non vegetarian and vegan. Excellent big portion, make sure you havent eaten earlier and cooked to perfection. Coffee and tea really good and lots of choices Service was brilliant, really polite, helpful and accommodating. Very impressive. Nice atmosphere. Also bought a lovely takeaway banoffee flapjack. Will definetly go back here.β
βFriendly little cafe, only had a cuppa so can't say much about the food. Other customers looked to be enjoying their breakfasts with gusto.β
βI love calling in here when I am that side of town. Mark is always friendly and I love the wide selection of drinks. I highly recommend calling in here. The atmosphere is very relaxed.β
βFantastic Italian which we only discovered recently having just lived to the area. Authentic food, attentive service and great atmosphere. We went for the first time a week ago, returned last night and weβve booked to take friends there in a couple of weeks time.β
