“We had already previously stayed at The Lions. Absolutely immaculate, a very warm greeting. Pablo and John go above and beyond to make sure your stay is first class. They do an excellent job. Excellent full English breakfast, too. Because the weather was good, we had breakfast outside, and they set their garden furniture beautifully. Their garden is stunning, like a country garden from a magazine. Peaceful and so very pretty. The Lions is perfectly located to get into town or surrounding areas.”

“Ate at the Alder Tree tonight for the first time, and what a great meal. Had the nachos to share for starter, this was plenty, then the steak with scampi and the mixed grill and wine, plus a couple of drinks to start with all for under £50.00. Beautiful meal well served, so couldn't fault. Will definitely be regulars in the future. Well done all the staff, you deserve it.”

“We spent Easter weekend at this lovely B&B and will most certainly be back. Our family room was excellent, spotlessly clean, breakfast was delicious. Also did some fishing in the onsite lake. 10 min walk from the Horse and Jockey pub where we had a nice evening meal and also another meal at Pesto at The Peacock which was also very good. Bottle feeding the lamb and the Easter treats were a lovely touch. Thanks for hosting us!”

“Went abseiling at Monsal head this morning with my Chris, had an excellent time!! Felt very safe and got lots of goes to try different ways of going down the bridge. Was a really fun activity and I would definitely do it again with my family through Chris.”

“Beautiful location for a short or long walk depending your mood, so much to explore and see, we were here for a good few hours and saw interesting wildlife, bridges, weirs, remains of old buildings, cafe near the playground with public toilets next door”

“What a place, we came here a few years ago and had a great time then….and the site has been improved further since to make it even more comfortable and luxurious. The new tents are large and homely, the kitchen areas attached to each area are well kitted out and the amenities and indoor areas around the site in case of bad weather have grown. Will be keen to come back again :)”
