“Lovely little kiosk cafe situated in a quiet corner of a peaceful memorial park. Food was very enjoyable and at very competitive prices. Although card payments are accepted, we personally used cash as this is a small business and card fees can be costly to them. Thank you and see you again soon.”

“I popped into this coffee shop while I was walking around the city as a tourist. Very friendly service and one of the best flat white coffees I have had for a long time. It’s very easy to taste the difference between an impersonal coffee made in a large chain store and one made with real care in a local business. The shop is a very relaxing place to sit and the staff are all very friendly. If I lived in Southampton, I can see this would be my go to cafe.”

“A lovely tea room, great atmosphere and kind staff with a can-do attitude. Food was lovely- we had a jacket spud, toastie and some delicious scones. Smoothies were also very good. Food came very quickly and they were great with our toddler who has allergies and provided children’s cutlery. Amazing selection of vegan and gluten free cakes and lots of free- from options on menu. “Very tasty and pleasant meal! Every dish we ordered was wonderful (especially the dirty fries!!). The lemon cheesecake and honeycomb cheese cake is by far the best I’ve ever had! It’s definitely worth walking a little further up the high street.”

Great steaming-hot coffee of excellent quality, which I got to enjoy either on the canal-side terras or inside the charming cafe, which was decorated by many hand-made artifacts including lanterns. The till was filled with plentiful fresh pastries that catered for various preferences and dietary needs. I would highly recommend this place!”

“Used the “River Launch” for another day on Hamble River. Fairthorne’s river launch gives you access to the most beautiful parts of Hamble river. If you turn left after launching you can go all the way to the waterfall (Sluice gate) at Botley Mill. It’s a lovely paddle with plenty of wildlife as you navigate the winding river up to Botley, passing under the road bridge with the bell you can ring at “The hidden tap” on the Flour mill wall and then opening up to the waterfall which lets the freshwater from the upper Hamble meet the salt water from the lower tidal river. Turn right and stay right and it’s another wonderful paddle all the way to “The Horse and Jockey” pub in Curbridge. Alternatively turn right after launching then take a left and the Hamble River will take you all the way to the Solent. Plenty of picnic spots in the way. Just got to remember it’s tidal ! Many people have been caught out by the lack of water coming back after a long paddle. Fairthornes river launch opening and closing times differ each day to match the tides. Those opening hours let you know how long you have on the water. There is a kiosk selling snacks and drinks but sadly there’s no toilets.”

“Very happy with hiring this Hall, despite initial worries of not being able to get there to pay deposit as it is only open from 10-12 every weekdays ( which doesn't even cover a lunchtime for anyone to pop in) and phoning to confirm we still wanted it and getting no answer we did get a call back to confirm everything. The hall was opened up in plenty of time and all we needed including chairs and tables and use of kitchen. Would definitely use this Hall again.”

“Great welcoming place. Just been to the new Scrabble/Board Games Group which started this afternoon. Fun, very relaxed, cuppa, chocolate brownie and good to meet people. Come along, meeting monthly at the moment (check website or call centre for future dates). Come along and give it a go!”

“A nice place to have a long stroll or even as a picnic with the family. There is a play area for the kids and toilets are close by. There is loads of space for parking and a cafe if you haven’t brought any food.”
