“Called in and ordered 4 takeaway Sunday Lunches. The pub was busy, but the staff were very friendly and accommodating.Had a drink whilst they were being prepared. They were well packaged, stayed warm in transit and tasted delicious.”

“We came across this pub after a day an Alton Towers, when we arrived we was greeted with lovely staff and atmosphere. Ordered some drinks and decided to stay for food. Ordered steak which was cooked to perfection. And a pork schnitzel which was full of flavour. Everything came out piping hot. Ordered 2 sausages for my daughter who doesn’t like peas and chips and they reduced the price for this reason. Lovely wine too. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore. Was our first visit and definitely won’t be our last!”

“Had a party for a retirement celebration. There were 14 of us and we complicated things with last minute changes to numbers due to sickness. Staff couldn’t do enough and everything went very well and smoothly. They re-set the table and made space for 2 prams for our newborn babies. Nathan was our allocated waiter and took the time to go over the changes to the pre orders, last minute changes and allergies to ensure they were all correct. Great food and service. Lovely atmosphere too. A wonderful afternoon.”

“Absolutely world-class carvery! We live in the North-West, and my in-laws live in the East Midlands, so I was looking for somewhere in-between we could meet up. Fortune smiled on us that day as I picked the New Broom at random, and we've been going back a couple of times a year for the last 5 years. Simply, the best Carvery I have ever had!”

“Not been here in years & went for an anniversary meal after a disappointing holiday away. Main menu a little expensive but 2 for £20 offer makes it affordable. Food was outstanding. Hot, fresh & plenty of it - they do not cut portion size for offers like some other places! Service excellent, attentive but not overbearing & no pressure to leave once meal complete. Would highly recommend & my only complaint is about the booking system, which requires card details to book-no problem with this alone but details are held by third party for 24 months which is totally unnecessary & puts our data at risk so would not book in advance & would need to take our chances on the day, as we did today. Will definitely return though, the food is fantastic.”

“The food was good and plentiful, the staff helpful even though they were busy. Had a bit of a wait due to the amount of people there, but I didn't mind as I wasn't in a rush. The only reason gave 3 *for atmosphere was the large party and kids, it was a little noisy but they left and the volume went down. We then sat outside in the sun to finish our drinks with a cracking view. But a great place to have food and have some meal deals.”

“What a delightful old pub in Nantwich. The food, the drink and wonderful ambience make this well worth a visit. Brimming with historic charm and a children's policy (over 12s only) which ensures a relaxing visit. I have to commend the landlord on enforcing this. Children are a blessing but I simply want to enjoy my downtime time in peace. To hear the crackle of the large open fire and conversation with my partner over a superb plate of food. “Had the most lovely relaxing day at the spa. All the staff were attentive, treatment was great, lunch was delicious and spa itself was lovely and great facilities. Sat in the outside hot tub with the Christmas decor and a hot chocolate was perfection! Will recommend.”

“No parking onsite but there is a car park in the pub next door and a large car park 30 seconds down the road, waited around 5 mins for someone to get our reservation and seat us( this was a Saturday night and busy), after we were seated the service was excellent, lots of drinks to chose from especially whiskey and whiskey flights. The food was too good for words perfectly smoked and seasoned tasted amazing I would highly recommend. Portion sizes were decent too.”

“We stayed in our canper van in the beautifully laid out car park. Paying to park overnight gave us a voucher for 10% off our restaurant order which was brilliant. The food and the beer were really good, the indoor eating area was cosy and the staff were lovely. We'll definitely be back.”

“We were on the lookout for a spontaneous dinner and drinks spot and were pleased to stumble upon The House of the Rising Sun. From the moment we arrived, the customer service stood out—they made sure we were accommodated even though we didn’t have a reservation. Since it was a last-minute night out, we ended up seated at the high chairs, which were a bit uncomfortable, especially if you’re dressed up (like in a tight shirt dress). The interior design is impressive—stylish and atmospheric, though a little too dim for dining. It feels more like a place that’s tailored for drinks and conversation. One standout feature is the bar with its aquarium-style backsplash—absolutely eye-catching. We tried the Teriyaki Beef and Chicken Katsu. The katsu was excellent—crispy, flavorful, and definitely best enjoyed with rice. The beef, on the other hand, was slightly chewy and not as tender as expected. For drinks, we had the classic Mojito and their signature cocktail, Land of Smiles. The latter was a highlight—refreshing with a unique spicy kick that really elevated the experience. Overall, The House of the Rising Sun is a lovely spot for a date night, especially if you’re after a cozy ambiance and creative cocktails. We’d definitely go back—hopefully with a reservation next time!”

She catered for everyone’s needs superbly - from the youngest 4 year old to my 90 year old father. Thank you so much Hannah for making our family Christmas meal so relaxed. “Amazing food!! Freshly cooked and such a great price. We absolutely love this place and will return. I recommend the tandoori chicken and the handi curry. Toilets are well kept and clean. A local gem!! Take cash!!- no card payments!! We were pushed to write a Google review there and then, and the waitress stood over us to make sure we did it, which was a little uncomfortable, apart from that, the waitress was attentive and pleasant!!”
