“Bit pricey but worth it. Bacon wasn't what I'd call proper streaky but I'm picky. All in all it was great food, well presented and served fairly quickly.”

“Went today 6/7:2025 . Food was delicious and very good value for money . There were 7 in our party 4 adults a teen & 2 toddlers . Plenty of choice for the kids and the food was a good portion for them . Excellent service and the girl who served us was lovely. Will definitely be returning soon..”

“At last! A proper pub with proper beer, where you can have a proper conversation without intrusive TV screens and not given over to diners rather than drinkers. The Shrewsbury Arms has been completely and tastefully redecorated, with William Morris pattern wallpapers throughout. We (two couples) went on a Wednesday evening where a generous selection of cheese, pate and salami + biscuits was available - all free! There were plenty of customers there, although like many 'wet' pubs I can imagine it could be pretty quiet at times. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will be back. PS: Did I mention that the beer was excellent? I can recommend Pig On The Wall... Edit: Typo”

“Visited here for a spa day to celebrate my birthday. The spa is very small so we only booked for a 4 hour session, worrying we might get bored. However, the time absolutely flew by and we wished we had longer! We had the mill wheel back massage, which was excellent. We also booked in for afternoon tea, which was delicious and very generous portions. Would definitely recommend.”

“Amazing food and friendly service, not badly priced but the atmosphere could be improved slightly. It's very well decorated and has a nice vibe but the lighting is really bright, it could feel a lot cosier if it was a little softer with the lights. A great place to eat though.”

“Three of us went for food and to watch the line music. Nothing disappointed us. Friendly accommodating staff, great music, delicious, piping hot food. Two of us had steak & ale pie. Suet pastry topped bowl, loads of tasty meat and gravy. No need for an extra jug. One of us had their beef burger, so big it had to be dismantled! Lots of chips and fresh veg, we had 2 extra veg sides too. Nothing to complain about, just wholly recommend. Meals around £15 each. Sides about £3 each. Will certainly be going back for more!”

“It was such a lovely experience, my wife and I were visiting for the weekend and I was feeling a little under the weather so honestly wasn't feeling up for going, but didn't want to let her down. The staff, the cleanliness, the atmosphere and the locals were so welcoming and friendly. We had food which was great and well priced and the whole pub was so great with our dog Bucky. It really lifted my spirits and whenever we come back down to Buxton we'll be popping in every time, really lovely pub. The staff are a huge credit, nothing was too much, always big smiles. Really great pub.”

“Visit Bake N Butty regularly, as I care for my elderly mum and she loves a cooked breakfast for lunch. Nice variety of foods available, little limited for vegetarians/vegans, but can recommend their veggie breakfast (which is huge!). Salad choices are very good and general menu pretty good for meat eaters. Food always prepared fresh. Place is clean, tidy and the staff are friendly.”

“Whether I'm eating in taking out or ordering the food is excellent the service perfect and the atmosphere amazing the staff are polite and know have to have a laugh I have spent countless mornings there and it's the best part of my day it deserves a 5 star rating”

Nice landlord and partner, always obliging, Pub need a good refurbishment and food options for 7 day venue, Be great to have good selection of Snacks aswell as olives, cheese and pork pie board platters for early evening, Entertainment been good, In need of food to attract a wider community throughout the week day and evening, good outdoor beer garden. Be great summer with a Pizza and BBQ stations for them great sunny evenings.”

“Excellent local boozer, ale is spot on and plenty of sport on the TVs. Landlady very friendly. Just be careful when reviewing this excellent pub with great atmosphere there's someone I like to call him Judas is piggyback onto reviews and saying untruthful facts has he's never been in the pub.”
