“We popped in to have some food here. The prepayment system is easy to use, and the staff helped us to have a card and top it up. There are different eateries with Korian, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Chinese food. The concept is perfect, the staff is friendly, the food is tasty, and we had massive portions. I will definitely visit when I visit Birmingham next time.”
“Great Breakfast decent price good service. Would definitely recommend here for full breakfast or breakfast sandwich”
“I had my 40th Birthday party here last weekend and it was the most amazing experience. I can’t recommend this wonderful venue and their team enough. The whole process was so easy and smooth, everybody was so nice, helpful and accommodating, the food was lovely and the venue was just perfect. Thank you to Lana for helping me plan the perfect night, from our first meeting over brunch, through to all the help during the party, and to the whole team for the great service on the night too. So many of my guests said how amazing the place was. Honestly, if you’re looking for somewhere to host an event, definitely give them a visit. You won’t be disappointed. x”
“Wow! Absolutely amazing venue! Met the publican and had an amazing chat, a local with great knowledge and history of the canals. They recently filmed the new Peaky Blinders movie here. Watch out, this place is going to very popular! A true taste of what Birmingham has to offer. Go for a pint here!! Open till 4am!!!”
“Love this pub! It's so different. The art work on the walls is vintage style tattoos and made for interesting viewing. The beer selections were great and the IPA my husband had was top notch. Fresh, crisp and clean. The lines were clearly well maintained. The bar staff were friendly and attentive. The pub clearly attracts a hugely varied clientele. The Vic is defo our go to bar when we are heading to the Alex to grab a bit of culture. What we did have to chuckle about was the a cable of gents enjoying a quiet pint and when we headed into the theatre and the show started it was the band! Which if its good enough for the performers its definitely good enough for us”
“Beautiful cosy pub. Staff are so friendly and attentive. The food was lovely.”
“This is just over the road from work so I have eaten here several times. The staff have always been friendly, the food tasty and priced fairly. The Big Daddy breakfast lives up to its name without feeling like an actual ordeal. Less gluttonous meals and sandwiches are also available. Overall it's recommended by me and definitely better than the Cranmore Cafe around the corner (which isn't awful, just not as good as here).”
“I had a breakfast here and I have lots of breakfasts all over the uk being a lorry driver This was by far one of the best I've had. The food was excellent and cooked just the way I like it. Polite friendly staff and a good atmosphere. I will definitely return. 5* Thankyou Mamma's cafe”
“Had this cafe delivery via Uber eats. The food was really nice and not greasy. I would recommend you to try the food here. We love that the wet items (beans and tomato) are in separate cups. Would be nice to have option to remove items from breakfast e.g egg but I'm sure that if you put it in the comments they would do it.”
“Food was incredible, greeted by 3 very polite and welcoming staff. Prices are very good highly recommend this place.”
“Amazing breakfast and great service.”

“New owners, keeping this place as good as it was before. Great fresh food with friendly service.”
“Had an afternoon tea, to celebrate a birthday. Excellent sandwiches, cakes and scones, for a very reasonable price. Tea and coffee top ups, if required, at no extra charge. More than enough food supplied. Everyone took a box home. Also, plenty of free parking.”
“My favourite kidderminster coffee shop. Coffee is delicious, atmosphere and staff are warm and friendly. There are also games and toys for children which helps it be family friendly. Toilets are up two flights of stairs but are well looked after. Disability access for downstairs only. Also, as toys are upstairs may be an issue for pushchairs.”
“Had a bacon sandwich on crusty bread and was fantastic Bread was fresh and bacon was nice and hot Quick service and great price!”
“Went for breakfast this morning. Service was excellent. Good food at a sensible price. Coffee was great. I would definitely go again.”
“Very good breakfast followed by a lovely cup of tea”
“Finally had a chance to have breakfast here! There has been a singular dearth of cafe restaurants around the Brindley Place precinct, where one can enjoy a cooked breakfast of fresh food and more modern cuisine, especially before 10 or 11am, and believe me, I've looked. My only complaint is they weren't here six months ago! Great coffee, good food and attentive service all at a reasonable price. Good luck for the future, just sorry I won't be around to enjoy it.”
“We did Tamworth Castle Grounds parkrun on Saturday. This lovely little cafe is just by the start/finish which had a roaring open fire burning inside. Unfortunately, it is quite small so we had to sit outside to enjoy our breakfast as not enough seating for our sizable group (but we did keep popping into to stand by the fire and warm out hands and smell the wood smoke!) Great value breakfast, and loved that you could have mushrooms on your bacaon or sausage sandwich, often not an option. And the small Full English included black pudding and coffe at just £6 Definitely recommended! (of course we also made a film of our day, you can watch that here: https://youtu.be/QMBA4nHzhkU )”
“Visited this place number of time. Thanks ladies, had pleasant experience indeed staff is absolutely friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. Lot of free parking available outside. I recommend this place to everyone.”
“Don’t understand the bad reviews. The people who work here are lovely, and made us feel welcome the entire time. The food was great, and for £12.50 for two big breakfasts and teas, I could not complain at all. I really liked my time here and would recommend if you fancy a fry up. Really lovely and local place.”
“Had veg kothu parotta and it’s a great taste. Excellent place in Northfield / Kings Norton to have authentic South Indian or srilankan food. Have yet to try non veg foods. Edit on 12/11/2024: The shop owner has changed and remains closed during summer holidays.”
“Service with a lovely smile, the most sweetest lady ever who was kind enough to offer me a free tea when I had left my change in my car that was being fixed in the garage next door.. she has a huge menu to choose from and the food is made fresh. You should definitely visit here you won’t be disappointed! Thanks Cris!”
“HIDDEN GEM! Thought I would try this place out as I’ve seen their new brunch menu posters outside the cafe and really enjoyed it! Lovely atmosphere here with attentive and friendly staff. The food looked so professionally done and tasted as good as it looked! Definitely would go back here and is a great hidden gem in the jewellery quarter for brunch.”
“Lovely friendly service. Food was served fast and hot. Really tasty breakfast. Nice start to the day when you're not feeling like cooking at home.”
“There is only one way to judge how authentic and good quality a certain cuisine restaurant is, and that is how many customers are from that area or ethnicity. If you went to Hong Kong and wanted a Full English Breakfast, you would go to the restaurant with mostly English people in. This is a no frills restaurant with the focus 100% on authentic Chinese food (not British Chinese food…there’s no egg fried rice here and that’s a great sign). Out of 10 customers, I was the only non-Asian customer (an even better sign). I ordered Chicken noodle soup (there must be a photo of it in another review), and it was exactly as my first ever meal in Kowloon. A salad bowl size bowl full of meat, noodles, broth and of course an egg. It tasted great, authentic and as expected, boiling bloody hot! I can never get through a whole bowl and at just £9.00 it felt like I had eaten a mountain of food. We parked in the Aldi car park across the road. Free for 2 hours. Highly recommended.”
“Best chippy you can find. Good people and entertaining ones at that good food for a good price.”
