Walked in to a happy smile from Jay and ordered the big breakfast (after I was shown the options and allowed to swap an item) Asked to take a seat and had a big old mug of coffee(not one of them pathetic timble size cups)brought to me . Next came the perfectly cook breakfast. it had good ingredients and was hot. Each table has some sort of reading material on it and the radio quietly playing in background. Whilst initially disappointed to discover the pub did not have Sky Sports to watch our team Birmingham City play Wrexham, we had a most amazing evening. “⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing food and great experience at Shazans in Birmingham! Visited Shazans recently and was really impressed — everything from the food to the service was excellent. The place has a lively, welcoming vibe and you can tell right away that the food is made with care and passion. We started with the lamb chops and shrimp, and both were absolutely delicious. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked — tender inside with a lovely char on the outside. They were seasoned beautifully with that smoky, spicy flavour you want from good chops. Each bite was juicy, rich, and full of taste. The shrimp starter was just as good — fresh, well-marinated, and cooked perfectly so it was tender and flavorful without being chewy. The combination of spices and slight heat made it a great start to the meal. For the mains, we had the Shirpur donner with naan and a Naga donner pie, and both were spot on. The Shirpur donner was packed with flavour — the meat was juicy, nicely spiced, and paired perfectly with the soft, warm naan. It had that classic takeaway comfort feel, but with a fresher, better-balanced taste. The Naga donner pie was a real standout. It had a spicy kick from the naga that added just the right amount of heat without overpowering the rest of the flavours. The pastry was golden and flaky, and the filling inside was rich, savoury, and satisfying — a really unique and tasty dish that you don’t find everywhere. The portions were generous, and everything came out fresh and piping hot. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The staff were also super friendly and attentive, checking in often and making sure we had everything we needed. Overall, Shazans is an excellent spot in Birmingham if you’re craving great grilled food and creative South Asian flavours. The starters were packed with taste, the mains were hearty and full of character, and the whole experience was relaxed and enjoyable. Highly recommend trying the lamb chops and the Naga donner pie — both absolute winners. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!”

“Had a very pleasant experience. Clean establishment with great service from staff. The ladies front of house were helpful and I got the feeling that it's a family run restaurant. I ordered a regular tawa and it was very nice.good portions for 2 people, the spice level was perfect as we chose medium. It was well cooked and the flavours were good. I think my only issue is that the lamb chops were a little charred and the lamb and chicken curry needed more masala to accompany the meat. Other than that, everything else was lovely. I would visit again, hopefully taking the family and would certainly recommend others to try. The chef and the majority of the staff were all women, which is a refreshing change in this industry, so many thanks to all of them for their efforts. The price was a little more that what is use to be, but this is generally the trend for many restaurants now. I would say it's competitive to others. I hope to visit again. We did visit again, and the food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. Especially the prawn Puri, but I do wish, there were more of the prawns. Always love coming here!”

“Come on now, best sandwiches in Brum! I've been officially boycotting sourdough because the bread is always rock solid, the crusts splinter and who enjoys it? Nobody. SO to actually have a sandwich where the bread is warm, soft, with a subtle sweetness and ALSO lets the filling be the star - perfection, no?”

“Had a lovely long awaited catch up with friends today we all agree that Desco has a lovely friendly and comfortable atmosphere. I had the tapas board and it was lovely the patatas bravos especially good. Staff were very friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble which is a 10/10.”

“Firstly the building is beautiful and the layout is so nice with big, spaced out tables, the bar on one end, and cosy corners which provides privacy. We were greeted very politely at the door and shown to our table. Food was amazing, so many veggie options! I had the Methi Matar Malai and the Samosas, best ones I've ever had. Cocktails were great too and 2 for £12 is decent so I had quite a few, and still felt very comfortable in the establishment (many people were drinking but no one was being too loud or creepy). Ordering with the QR code was chill and straightforward and staff were still very attentive but also didn't meddle in anyone's business unless we asked for something, they just left us to eat in peace and only came back to collect dishes at the end. Just all round perfect experience. One thing I will say, the car park is tiny for the size of the restaurant so need to get there early and also book a table in advance/ maybe go during the day rather than evening. We will be back!”
