He warmheartedly explained every dish that interested me, making many suggestions based on my preferences. It was clear he genuinely wanted me to have the best experience. But let's talk about the food itself – the ingredients were unbelievably fresh! I could definitely tell they used fresh ingredients and cooked to order. In fact, I was even able to see a woman chopping fresh meat on the corner of the kitchen, a testament to their commitment to quality. The magic didn't stop there! The cook in the kitchen was exceptionally lovely. They were super interactive, chatting away while preparing my order, and showed incredible generosity by preparing a huge portion for me! They even went the extra mile, asking if I needed a bowl to take back to my B&B, which was incredibly thoughtful and saved me a lot of hassle. We came for an afternoon tea, portions were very generous with plans in place to expand the offer and make more of it in house in the future. The fire was alight and cosy. The table next to us was eating the main food on offer which also looked delicious and they also asked for takeaway boxes because of the generous portion sizes. Lisa was so welcoming and friendly and let us have a look upstairs at the amazing original tiles and stained glass window, events space and room where Laurel and Hardy stayed. The playlist was also great. So much history in a pub like this - so good to see it back open!”
