“My poor little rat, Rue, went to sleep yesterday at companion care. The experience from start to finish was so kind and compassionate. On the phone they were gentle explaining our options, and when we entered the receptionists were so lovely. When we were called in the vet did a check over to make sure it was the right decision which made me feel at ease knowing it was 100% the best choice. The vet explained everything start to finish and was so incredibly patient. She got Rue a blanket and let us spend as much time as we needed with her. Afterwards she was still lovely and reminisced about Rue with us. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience within such a sad situation. Everyone working there is understanding and caring. I couldn’t recommend anywhere better.”

“Lovely local pet shop, with live animals (birds, fish and small mammals) as well as most of the things you would need for your pet. During the festive season there are some lovely Christmas decorations to buy too!”

“Been going to blacks for most of my cats life, great staff, hadn't been for a couple of years but this year the fleas are a problem, so had to return and request prescription treatment, as I was there I asked for quick check up and his nails done and pain relief as he is 17.5 and I no he's in pain, all sorted, said I had been buying over the counter flea treatment and I was not made to feel I was wrong, I have 2 other cats and as we all no things have gone up so much. Always welcomed when I arrive as well as any cat I bring, parking is a bit of problem due to traffic and now other businesses customers parking were they like and how they like, so allow time of day and time to sort your parking”

“One of my dogs very quickly became uncomfortable with an eye infection. Was able to be quickly be seen by a knowledgeable veterinarian who gave treatment which has seen our dog respond and recover quickly. Very professional staff at this practice and glad we chose to have our dogs moved to the Blacks Vets group after some poor service at a previous practice. Been with Blacks for nearly 2yrs and very pleased with the care they have given to our dogs.”

“Our dog Bruce was really well cared for up until he was put to sleep out of kindness. The love and support we had was amazing. They even allowed us to bring in our other dog to say goodbye after he passed. We will never forget the kindness they showed us on the worst day of our lives. They took some paw prints from him and his fur that we will treasure forever. We cannot thank you guys enough.”

“I've brought my rabbits here twice now for their annual check ups and vaccines and have had an amazing experience both times. The vets are extremely knowledgeable and helped put the buns at ease even when they were being fussy. Both times I have been advised of treatment or care advice with zero pressure to purchase them but all the information to make a decision myself. The woman at reception is also really lovely and welcome. Seriously can't fault them and wouldn't want to go anywhere else now.”

My miniature poodle has many health problems but hasn’t been put off visiting the vets- in fact she can’t wait to get into the reception and treatment rooms. On a practical level, the surgery is spotlessly clean with no smells. I have been using Hillman’s for almost 20 years with various pets and have only good things to say about the whole practice.”

“Unfortunately Lyn had to have her Cat Louie euthanized due to a Stomach Tumour your Vetanory Nurses were excellent , they spoke to Lyn by phone, as she could not attend as she is disabled, explainng everthing , they sent a Sympathy Card and arranged Cremation and Casket, overall a very professional, sympathetic experience, gladly recommend to everyone. “The table tops were so exciting, I had a great time making sure every inch was inspected for hidden foods - unfortunately it seems all of the surfaces had been cleaned thoroughly. 10 out of 10 for the nail job, although quite why you decided to change my perfectly sharpened talons I will never understand. Looking forward to inspecting under the desk next time - I'm pretty certain that's where the snacks are kept (and thank you for not fat shaming me - I'm nearly bikini body ready) Fudge.”

“We very recently adopted a dog from dogs trust who had developed a limp. I called and the receptionist was do friendly and managed to book us in thw next day. Our dog was collected from the car by a lovely vet who was reassuring and lovely and our dog although very nerbous, came back relaxed. Great service, great advice and very helpful. Thank you”
