“Changed to Brentknoll after poor service from previous vets who I had been with for over 20 years. They could not get my dog in for check up for an ear infection as deemed it "non urgent" and could only offer me appointments several days later (initially called on the Saturday and told to call back Monday and then when called back on the Monday was only offered their practice 8 miles away or the next day - by which time my dog was in agony). Brentknoll were lovely from the moment I called and got me in within a couple of hours. Lovely service and sorted her out so wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Transferred to Brentknoll from now on and will avoid the other vets like the plague!”

“Our experience with Special Friends Vets has been nothing short of extraordinary. As the proud parents of a rescue French Bulldog, we know how important it is to have a veterinary team that truly cares about their patients, and they have exceeded every expectation. We first turned to Special Friends Vets back in 2020 during the height of the Covid pandemic. Our regular vet of many years let us down when they refused to vaccinate Nala without sedating her, even though we had never had any issues in the past. It was a stressful time, but Tim stepped in and vaccinated Nala with no problem whatsoever. His calm, gentle nature immediately put both us and Nala at ease. In 2021, Nala fell seriously ill with an immune-mediated disease and eventually had to spend a weekend at Willows. Up until her admission, Tim and the team were simply incredible. They provided comfort, did everything possible to help her, and kept us informed and reassured every step of the way. Their dedication and compassion during such a difficult chapter meant the world to us. Now at 9 years old, Nala is facing the challenges of arthritis. Tim has been instrumental in managing her pain and carefully finding the right combination of treatments to keep her comfortable. When she suffered a fall in March this year, we weren't sure she would fully recover. Thanks to Tim's expertise and commitment, we are absolutely thrilled that she has made a remarkable recovery. Tim truly was vital to her healing process. We also want to acknowledge the compassionate care shown to our beloved 16 year old rescue cat, Honey. When the time came to make the heart-breaking decision to have her put to sleep, the team handled everything with such sensitivity and warmth. Their genuine empathy and support helped to ease an incredibly difficult moment, and we are deeply grateful for the kindness they showed us and Honey throughout. The entire team goes above and beyond. They are genuine animal lovers who put their heart into everything they do. I want to give a massive shout out to the rockstar reception team—Tash, Fran, and Claire—who always greet us with smiles, warmth, and endless helpfulness. They manage so much and do it all with such grace and positivity. Nala also says thank you for all her treats! Special Friends are more than just a veterinary practice; they are true partners in our pet’s health. We are deeply grateful for everything they have done for Nala, Honey and for us. We cannot recommend them highly enough to anyone seeking compassionate, skilled, and truly dedicated veterinary care.”

“Best vets around I moved to blacks vets from another practice after being badly treated. I had been going to the previous practice for nearly TWO YEARS!!! and I was still no further forward with what was wrong with my dog Billy. After only two visits to blacks he was diagnosed with a rare life limiting illness sadly. I was devastated. From that moment on even with the insurance everything was dealt with amazingly. The staff are lovely, kind and understanding. The vet who I saw was so brilliant. He treated my Billy like his own. All insurance was paid out with no problems. To the point I used up my whole policy. Which due to the fact he had so much work done. They did everything they could to keep him going. At the end when the time came to say goodbye they treated us like royalty. Made us feel so special. It was such a peaceful passing. I was devastated. They even took a fur clipping and put it in a bottle for me and a paw print for me to кеер. If you want a good, caring, genuine vets look no further”

“We've been taking our two rescue guinea pigs to 608 vets since we got them over 3 years ago. For most of our visits we have been looked after by the exotic vet, Sergio Rodriguez Valera. As they've got older they've had a few issues and this year, they needed two operations each, first for gynae problems and then for skin tumours. Sergio has done an amazing job with them, dealing with some difficult issues in two of the ops, and both guinea pigs are now doing great. He always took time to explain what he was doing, answering our many questions, and really cared about how they were. Five stars isn't really enough. Thank you Sergio, I don't think it's overstating it to say they probably wouldn't still be here without you.”

“I am very impressed I had a phone appointment for my dog Milo this morning as he had a bad ear . Jack sorted it out over the phone he was lovely . And told me to go pick up his medication I then got to the pdsa itself and was greeted by a lovely reception women I asked to show another pic of my dogs ear and vet Charlotte had a look and told me all the medicine was correct for him as I worry . She was lovely also gave me a cone for his head so he’s ear wouldn’t get harmed anymore . I’m really impressed and could not thank them enough ! Thank you x”

“My husband and I can't recommend Riversmeet enough. Vet Simona Oprea especially has been brilliant with our dog 4 year old blue merle border collie, Woody. He is a complex & rare case with Systemic Lupus (causing liver issues), immune-mediated thrombocytopenia and steroid induced cushing's (causing hair loss and muscle wastage). She has tried everything and been a great support in his recovery. He is improving everyday with his treatment and we couldn't be more grateful.”

“Can't praise the vets or staff enough for the way they loked after our dog. Everything was done that possibly could be to help her but unfortunately we lost her. Even at that stage they were so compassionate and kind our Minnie went very quickly and peaceful.”

From the moment I spoke to Rosie on reception the situation was not only sympathetically understood but handled with the utmost professionalism. With less than 24 hours notice on Friday the check was arranged the following day on a Saturday with a senior partner who did the most thorough job and handled the situation with such professionalism. “My poor little rat, Rue, went to sleep yesterday at companion care. The experience from start to finish was so kind and compassionate. On the phone they were gentle explaining our options, and when we entered the receptionists were so lovely. When we were called in the vet did a check over to make sure it was the right decision which made me feel at ease knowing it was 100% the best choice. The vet explained everything start to finish and was so incredibly patient. She got Rue a blanket and let us spend as much time as we needed with her. Afterwards she was still lovely and reminisced about Rue with us. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience within such a sad situation. Everyone working there is understanding and caring. I couldn’t recommend anywhere better.”

“Sparkle has dramatically improved with her walking and she is relaxed enough to hop up on the sofa and snuggle on the bed again. She was super scared to go into hydrotherapy at first but everything went at her pace and now she absolutely loves going in. We see a big improvement in her every time we go and she has avoided being put on strong painkillers thanks to all of the exercises, hydrotherapy and lazer therapy that she has done. We couldn't recommend the wellbeing centre enough and Horners vets are all amazing too. Sparkle loves going in to see everyone and she sees the same vet every time. Such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere makes such a big difference and Sparkle drags us in every time we visit.”

“From experience the vet/nurses/receptionist etc are great people. My Tacco past away on Saturday, they had for years looked after him. This was a terrible thing to go thru but they made it the best it could be. The use of a separate part of the house for his passing, made for us, I little more bearable. I could not thank them enough.”

“Been going to blacks for most of my cats life, great staff, hadn't been for a couple of years but this year the fleas are a problem, so had to return and request prescription treatment, as I was there I asked for quick check up and his nails done and pain relief as he is 17.5 and I no he's in pain, all sorted, said I had been buying over the counter flea treatment and I was not made to feel I was wrong, I have 2 other cats and as we all no things have gone up so much. Always welcomed when I arrive as well as any cat I bring, parking is a bit of problem due to traffic and now other businesses customers parking were they like and how they like, so allow time of day and time to sort your parking”

Was able to be quickly be seen by a knowledgeable veterinarian who gave treatment which has seen our dog respond and recover quickly. Very professional staff at this practice and glad we chose to have our dogs moved to the Blacks Vets group after some poor service at a previous practice. Been with Blacks for nearly 2yrs and very pleased with the care they have given to our dogs.”
