“Small but good local gym with machines and free weights. Swimming pool. Hot drink machine. Helpful staff. Big car park gets busy.”
“Me and my kids visited splash park from Manchester. Honestly it was an amazing experience. My kids enjoyed a lot. Staff was really polite and helpful and the place itself was super clean. Paid parking is available just next to the centre. I definitely recommend this place.”
“Came in today, when we arrived the receptionist was on the phone but made us her priority straight away. She was very warm and made us feel very welcomed. Helped us out with skate. When ordering food the blonde girl who handed it to us went and got sauces as we had forgotten them. Overall, 10/10 would recommend and will be coming back again!”
“I had an issue with the booking so was late going into the area. Thd team were so understanding and made sure we had our hour. We had such a good time. Thank you so much. We will definitely return.”

“We have two kids who are very strong swimmers and we have been coming swimnation for the last 5 years. Both my kids could swim without armbands from the age of 6 years old. Swimnation is a wonderful business with a fantastic team of instructors, we could not say a bad word about any of them. They take their jobs very seriously but know how to make it fun for all the children at the same time. Full of praise for the whole team and the facilities are spot on as well. 10/10 from me and Shelley! We could not recommend this business high enough. Steven, Shelley, Leo & Jake”
“Brilliant for parties! Would recommend to anyone!”
“Sam and the team are fantastic. My little one wouldn’t get in the water to start with now he prefers to swim under water the skills he has been taught have been amazing. Would highly recommend.”
“I take both of my kids ti swim lessons at Colne Valley. Have ample parking spaces (free for 2 hours) knowledgeable and helping staff and some very good facilities”
“Ravensknowle Park is approx 12 acres (5 ha) of parkland, forming the grounds of Tolson Museum. The park may be small-ish, but it's lovely to wander round, and is well-maintained. It's popular with families with young children. It's home to the striking Cloth Hall Shelter, this being the entrance and clock tower from the old Cloth Hall, moved here from Huddersfield town centre after the Cloth Hall was demolished in 1929/30. There is ample free parking on site. The museum serves refreshments, with outside seating. The Tolson Museum is also worth a visit; entry is free.”
“Great live music venue with tribute nights for all tastes monthly Northern soul nights and mod revival twice a year upstairs. Live acts Evey Saturday in members lounge brilliant club well worth cost of yearly membership”
“I live close, so when I work from home I walk in the park to get some fresh air. It is still a well-used park, walkers, dog walkers runners, new play park for the children. It's lovely in all seasons, well looked after by volunteers and the council.”

“Highly recommended! My daughter started classes at Mirfield as a non-swimmer, with very little water confidence. She is now swimming all strokes with confidence and with great technique, thanks to the wonderful tuition from Samara and Becky. She thoroughly enjoyed her classes and progressed amazingly, huge thanks to Best Stroke for boosting her self belief and helping her become a strong, accomplished swimmer!”
“Brilliant teaching, my daughter’s confidence in the water grew immeasurably and her understanding of the impact of getting the stroke right plus she had an awful lot of fun and made new mates. Cheers Marisa!”
