“We decided to enjoy a roast at The Egremont and were lucky to arrive early enough to get the last table before they filled up with 100 pre booked roast dinners I ordered the lamb shank, while my friend chose beef, both served with crispy roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, red cabbage, mashed swede, broccoli, carrots, and parsnips—much more than we expected! We also shared a giant portion of cauliflower cheese and some massive pigs in blankets, which we affectionately dubbed The Egremont sausage surprise. The food was delicious and plentiful, and I even shared some of the pigs in blankets with the neighboring table, & bought some food home - If you plan to go, I recommend making a reservation! “You can't come to Brighton without visiting this iconic hotel. We sat in the bar and had an afternoon snack. BLT | Toasted bread, streaky bacon. gem luttuce. homemade £14. Smoked salmon & tiger prawn. iceburg lettuce, avocado. lemon. £16. And two pots of tea. Thought the prices were quite reasonable for such an impressive hotel. The service was good and we especially like it here as you can sit with your dogs.”

“Honest, tasty, cooked in small batches food (some dishes might be off the menu, worth asking what is not available). Competitive prices (especially on drinks). Had sauerkraut soup, pork ribs & goulash. All delish ! Give them a try you won't be disappointed. Clean premises. Service was speedy &polite. Polish & English spoken.”

“A massive thank you for making my 60th last night so special (Nov 2nd, 2024). I've been going to this amazing pub since my 20's and more often in my mid 40's with my daughter and her crew. Good times were had & great memories were made. When asked what I wanted to do for my 60th, JB's was the obvious choice. I wasn't disappointed! This little pub hasn't changed in 40 years! Proper traditional pub. The staff are awesome! The barman even remembered me from 16/17 years ago! It was like 'going home'. Thank you to the staff and everyone, especially the new friends we made, for making my birthday so special! ❤️”

“They have an excellent Christmas menu selection. The roast turkey comes with all the trimmings. They have a good selection of Sussex wines and an adequate range of international wines - most of which are available by the glass in a range of glass sizes. We were served by Esme, who could not have been more attentive and helpful. The Sunday lunchtime crowd included several families and larger groups, resulting a lot of happy chattering. We appreciated their Christmas selection of cocktails and coffees.”

“Really lovely meal - special celebration for us so we had the works. The food is fabulous quality, the service is exceptional, the drinks menu choices are vast and brilliant; including huge gin selection, wine selection and cocktails, also alcohol free choices of mocktails and more. You can taste the freshness of all the food, it really makes a difference. Our server Freddie was the perfect balance of attentive. When they heard we were celebrating our silver wedding anniversary they made a little fuss (see photo) which was so lovely and welcome. We were treated so well, literally faultless ❤️”

It has a lively sports bar vibe with plenty of screens to catch a game, and the staff are super friendly. The outdoor seating is great for relaxing with a pint. Food is solid pub fare – simple, tasty, and just right. A great spot for drinks, food, and football in Brighton!”

“The Perch has views overlooking Lancing Beach. Theirs meals are varied and delicious. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. You can eat in but probably need to book as it's very popular. They have a takeaway service which is very good. You can eat it outside on benches or sit on the beach. We'll worth a visit!”

“A nice bar a few minutes walk from the town centre. DJ booth and bar sports on site. DJ nights like Switch are fantastic and offer something other than cheesy pop and house music that other venues only play.”

“Nearly always go in here for food when I visit my mother in Seaford. Simon and crew are extremely courteous and friendly and the food exceptional. All freshly made in house. They ran out of beef wellington yesterday and he quickly whipped one up for me. Doesn't come much fresher than that. Can't praise the quality or service enough. Thoroughly recommended.”

“Nice cocktail bar with unisex toilets. Because it is so popular the waiting time can be quite slow. Nice decor and very stylish and the staff were nice. Also toilets nice and clean. All in all top marks. Wouldn't stay there all night due to prices though.”

“Brunch was fantastic here. Food was great as well as drinks. We opted for the bottomless drinks, but as the restaurant was extremely busy was a little slow with topping us up but understandable. Friend’s steak wasn’t great but was replaced immediately. Other than that, food was so good we returned the next day before heading back home.”

“Went to the bar for a drink and Eddie was just incredible - such attentive service. My friend wanted mulled cider and he went and made it for her anyway! We ordered the boozy hot chocolate, and gave her the rest. He was so kind and made some great adaptations to make our night special. Thank you, Eddie.”

The cocktails were amazing, the food was tasty and the service was 10/10 from Holly, who was so attentive and never let out glasses empty (despite being the only one on the floor/bar). Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!! 100% recommended and most certainly will be revisiting!”
