βA warm and friendly welcome from three different receptionists really made our short stays at the beginning of December and on Christmas Eve 2025. Mary, Vicky and Mihaela( hope I have the spelling correctly) were amazing. We had a lovely room with a balcony, overlooking Brighton seafront, Brighton i360 and the West Pier(remains of). Our room was very large with a lovely en suite, a coffee machine, kettle and fridge with complimentary snacks and drinks. Sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee looking at the seaside was such a treat. The breakfast room is in the style of an American diner, overlooking the seafront and serving a great range of breakfast with premium jams and spreads. Our evening meal was of a good quality, especially the pizza and haddock and chips. Bar staff were always incredibly friendly. Location is great, a very short distance to Preston Street with it's huge variety of restaurants and close to Western Road with it's amazing range of shops. I agree with Hannah about slight wear and tear, but like her, I prefer to look at the positives and there were plenty.β
βHad a brilliant meal, and the staff made my day and my birthday. We went late afternoon and they had just cleared the room after a big party. I really wanted to sit by the window and watch the sea, as living in Milton Keynes, we are completely land locked. They cleared a table so I could look out having my dinner. The staff (waiter and barman) went above and beyond, and the drinks and meals were fantastic. A faultless experience, and I would not hesitate to go back or recommend themβ
βFantastic for the price. Ok its a budget hotel or top of the line hostel. Comfortable beds. I was in a 6 bed dorm. Large toilet/shower room in the dorm not down the corridor. A big +. Shower was good, reasonably powerful and good temperature control. Extremely clean. The staff noticed my disability and moved me to a bottom bunk without me asking. There was a lift which was working well. I didn't have the breakfast. So can't comment. Location was 50 meters from both the old burnt out pier and the 360 "ride. Maybe 120m from the GRAND HOTELβ
βThe food was freshly cooked and served fast. We really enjoyed our glazed burgers and Michael gave us a really good service. I definitely will go back some time.β
βDunno what all the others are complaining about. Very nice vegan and non-vegan food well presented, quite cheap, unbeatable views and chilled vibe. Absolutely perfect for a nice meal and drink on the beach. Spectacular views. Will happily come again.β
βHad such an amazing time at shoosh beach club. The staff were all very friendly and took really good care of me and my friends. Definitely will be coming back!!β
βI dont often write reviews but doing this for the benefit of anyone who may be in my position and trying to find something suitable and a laugh for a hen do, as that was me a few months ago when I booked Showlesque! I know there are some mixed reviews on Google and Trip advisor, but I hope this may help sway someone's decision in deciding whether or not to go...we went as a hen do on 30th August, and I was worried about what to expect because of a recent review only giving 3 stars. The food came quickly and was actually very tasty...chips were great. The staff were friendly, particularly the young lady with bobbed wavy blonde hair (sorry I've forgotten your name!). Service was good. Veronica Blacklace absolutely made the night as the MC and singer, she had a fab voice, very funny and knew how to read a room perfectly. Big Hairy Growler...so funny, and his strip tease was so bad it was good lol. We had such a laugh, the energy was great. The venue is small and intimate, but this didnt mean the atmosphere was any less. When the show finished, there was a DJ playing classic tunes, the place wasn't busy but to be honest we just enjoyed having the dance floor to ourselves. My one criticism would be that maybe there could have been a couple more alternative acts within the show, as each person came on twice (there were three performers in total, plus the MC). Very entertaining, we laughed all night and the hen had the best time. Would definitely recommend! One thing to note, if you are a large group make sure to ask to be seated on one table...we were a group of 9 but split into two booths, we could still see and talk to each other but we would have preferred to have been sat together.β
βMy friends and I booked through First Table, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The restaurant is on Boundary Road, quite a way from central Brighton, but the interior is worth the trip β beautifully decorated and full of character. We were warmly greeted by the friendly staff, who offered some great suggestions. We tried their Turkish white wine, which was spot on, then moved on to starters and mains. The highlight for me was the lamb casserole β absolutely heavenly! What really sets this place apart from other Turkish restaurants Iβve been to is the pricing. Even without the 50% First Table discount, the menu is very reasonably priced. The only downside for me is the location, as itβs quite far from where I live (Preston Park). Still, Iβd happily make the journey again for their food. Dined for: 3 Meal: Starter + mains + drinks Total bill: Β£109β
Located on Beaconsfield Road near the viaduct, THE BRZN ARMS is a popular craft brewery taproom in Brighton. It offers a vibrant local hub where craft beer enthusiasts and neighbors gather. The taproom pours a diverse selection of house-brewed beers, including hazy pale ales, sours, dark stouts, and traditional cask ales. Guests can enjoy a rustic interior surrounded by local artwork or relax in the spacious rear beer garden with covered barn seating. The venue regularly hosts rotating food trucks offering a variety of delicious street food options.
βBest Pasta in Brighton hands down!! Mama mi truly is one of Brightons best hidden gems. Giuseppe (the main man) is incredibly kind and charismatic and clearly loves what he does! The whole vibe of the restaurant is great too, really feels like you're back in Italy. The bruschetta was the tastiest I ever had in my life (I've had a lot) and the food overall was incredible! Shame about the opening hours but I heard they will do evening service once a week in winter.β
βI have visited Arcobaleno on many occasions and always a fabulous time. Lovely friendly atmosphere and LGBTQ+ friendly based on Wizard of Oz theme. Cocktails are fun and the Maltase menus is fabulous and great if a cabaret show is on. Had Sunday roast yesterday with a group of friends and all arrived at the same time and it really is the best roast I have tasted in Brighton. Vegans and vegetarians also catered well for. The staff are great and welcoming. This is a unique place in Brighton, very chilled away from the louder places in town, which I would highly recommend. Don't miss out and tell your friends.β
βWe had a brilliant evening here. A delicious curry, followed by waffles and icecream (be sure to let Jane know your dietary needs ahead of time). And then a wonderful performance by the incredibly talented Nick Pynn. Itβs a special place, and we felt very lucky to receive Janeβs warm hospitality. Dinner, entertainment, a round of drinks and a bottle of wine came to Β£45 per person.β
Situated on bustling Preston Street in Brighton, Betsy's is a charming local restaurant offering fresh, locally sourced food in a cozy setting. The vibrant venue provides a welcoming dining atmosphere for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu presents a variety of dishes including artisanal burgers, hand-crafted pizzas, meatball linguine, and crispy fries. Morning visitors can enjoy generous breakfast options, while traditional Sunday roasts are served on weekends. A well-curated beverage menu features signature cocktails, wines, and soft drinks to complement every dish.
βYou wonder if its going to be as good as you expect. The experience was a birthday gift from my niece . My wife and I went with moderate expectations but we were really happy with the whole thing. I loved the range of food and the care the staff took to make sure everything was perfect. The multiple dishes provided, solved my normal problem of what to choose on the menu and wanting to try a bit of everything. Just go with a few friends and have a great timeβ
βBest pub We've been to! The Watchmakers arms is our local and has been for the last few years. Whilst we aren't the most regular drinkers, whenever we do fancy one, this is the spot we always go to. We recently had a fantastic booking here with some friends, and T.W.A was exceptional and highly accommodating (As always). The staff / owners are simply a joy, always have a smile on and happy to help! The beers are always so incredible, and for being in the center of Hove, they are unbelievably competitive. There are many, many Green King / other chains close by where the price is significantly higher, I can't believe how cheap the beer is for the quality you get here. The atmosphere of the pub is always perfect, overall we can't recommend this pub highly enough!! A huge thanks to Ruth, Rick, Luciano - the whole team!β
βWe were lost in Brighton and needed to use facilities, the lady behind the bar was welcoming, friendly and super helpful. I felt safe leaving my Mum there to get my car. Lovely place. Thank you.β
βAbsolutely loved this place. It's very unique, niche, quirky, punky and fun. So much detail in the room. Bar was fun, breakfast was good. Wish I could have stayed longer.β
βExcellent traditional pub tucked away in quiet corner of town. Ideal for quick rendezvous, a Sunday Roast, game of Bingo, sing Karaoke yadda yadda. Top venue. Great Landlord knows how to get the vibe right.β
βFound this cafe in The Lanes when looking for a nice breakfast before the drive home after staying at the Leonardo hotel. Cracking little place, great coffee and pastries. Excellent, friendly service.β
βAmazing craft beer spot. Lovely burgers and tacos. Fish tacos, veggie, steak and pork. Outside in the summer is amazing. The beer garden faces due west so you get sun all afternoon. Beer is amazing, I absolutely love this place!β
βWe went here for our anniversary dinner, wonderful food and service! We had the duck and lamb, both very tender and juicy. For starters we had the duck roll and scallops, I normally donβt enjoy seafood which I always find βfishyβ but I loved the scallop, complemented by the sauce/puree that goes with it. For dessert we had the mango cheesecake, not the most impressive but not bad and would overall recommend this place !β
βI just love Beak. The beers are top-notch, never disappointed. The taproom itself is in one of the most unique places you can drink beer at, facing the white cliff under the perfect blue sky. Finished my Lewes beer mile here (pick up your card at any of four stops) and couldn't be more happy. Will be back next year for These Hills again (fingers crossed it will happen) and just thinking the area in front of the taproom could be used for the festival as well, sheltered by the cliff and with enough prepwork.β
βUnbelievably great hospitality and warm atmosphere by staff, especially at night it has a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The food they serve is traditional english in the morning and traditional chinese in the afternoon evening. Best of both worlds!β
βReally lovely small hotel very close to the sea front. Quirky details. Spotlessly clean. Beautiful bathroom and big fluffy white towels. We were made to feel really welcome. And breakfast was delicious.β
βSmall intimate club with music past and present and excellent sound system. I was there for an event The Definitive 10. Excellent evening in conversation.β
βNativity was another outstanding performance from Trinity and their Youth Theatre. Professional with such a talented cast, both young and old(er). The youth theatre performances are always full of joy, talent and energy, but this was another level again. I donβt know how they do it!β
βPopped in with some friends earlier and our bartender was really lovely. Chester made sure our experience was lovely, gave us great drinks and service. They mentioned that reviews were welcome so we thought we'd say thank you!β
βI moved to Portslade in February and The Foghorn has become one of my favourite locals. I love ale and this place is heaven for that, straight from the barrel so every pint is fresh as a daisy. Tommy, Tim and all the staff are great too. They also have a great selection of wine and cider, friendly locals also add to the all round great vibe of the place. Proper pub!β
βBrilliant night! All of the comedians were great! Something for everyone. Have to give the compare Martin a shout out for making everybody inclusive by somehow remembering everybody in the audiences names! Very funny! We will be back. Drink prices not too bad eitherβ
βBrilliant customer service and such tasty fresh food at good prices too! I live 20min drive away but can see myself travelling just for this spot! Follow @abs.eats on Instagram for more reviews.β
