βJust had a coffee, but the atmosphere was good toilets spotless, staff extremely polite, and taking a small baby in there not a problem. Would definitely go back again and againβ
βThanks to the team for fitting us in last minute to their amazing quiz!!! Food was delicious, went for the Carne pizza and it was one of the best weβve had. Staff are so lovely, amazing vibes and beautiful pub !β
βWent here twice ,while staying in Seaford ,great beers and atmosphere, Camra recommendβ
βHad the best Sunday Roast. Had been searching the area and so glad we came here! Drinks and food were amazing. Roast beef and pork with crackling were delicious. The portion sizes were huge!β
βGreat Sunday roast lamb Friendly staff Minimal wait Tasty food Definitely back soonβ
βGreat old English pub, great people, atmosphere and locals/regulars. Usually pub doesn't serve food but does provide catering service.β
βI enjoyed the meat platter with no meat a lot. My regards to the chefs, treated me like a god. Bit thick though.β
βGreat spot for a pint which there is very few in Southwick . Happy to recommendβ
βLovely food & excellent service!!β
βSuper friendly pub. Great staff, good beers. It has an excellent range of different ales. The people always are very friendly and there is usually some great live music.β
β2nd time visit of this fabulous unassuming jazz venue. Absolutely loving it and will come back again soon. Quality jazz performances at an intimate venue. Mingle with guests and musicians during breaks makes it even better. Highly recommended and will be bringing friends along to next performances. This quality jazz venue deserves all the support it can get.β
βGood beer, really friendly helpfull staff, nice atmosphere, an all round great pub.β
βWe called in for coffee as we were visiting a nearby property that a relative is buying. This is a large pub - plenty of different seating areas. Very friendly helpful staff behind the counter. I would guess that this is an independently owned pub - you don't get service like this in a chain! Very attractive "pub classic" menu. I can't wait for the purchase to go through so that we can all return here for a meal and some drinks. Community pubs like this are increasingly rare. The coffee was good and surprisingly cheap. Thank you!β
βLovely cosy village pub, everyone is very friendly and dogs are welcomed. Parking can be a little tricky on the streets sometimes.β
βA nice reasonably quiet pub which is dog friendly, great staff, very good prices and a warm welcome from all people in the put anytime day or night. Although they don't serve food here, you are always welcome to have a takeaway delivered to eat inside the pub!β
βAmazing food (highly recommend the Italian toastie), amazing iced coffees and amazing cakes to top it all off. Great location in the heart of the lanes with a wonderful atmosphere, super quick friendly service, couldnβt recommend moreβ
βFirst stumbled across here a while ago and brought so many of my girl friends down here since. With everything going on in the worlds itβs amazing to find a place where you feel so safe! Thank you for making us feel so welcome all the time!β
βIn the 20years l have lived here I must say this is the best pub in the UK. Gerry and Lyn have been there a long time but every one gets along with them. We are in our 80,s now, moved to Spain for 10 years but are back in the UK. We wish them continued success kind regards Kay and Gerry.β
βGenuinely maybe the best 3 course meal I've ever had, booked the function room for a surprise 30th and was genuinely unbelievable. We had Riccardo (might be slightly wrong) but couldn't have asked for any more. It is slightly on the more expensive side but one million % worth it if you want the full experience. Food and service both 10/10β
βI had a most enjoyable meal there with outstanding cooking and charming service. The menu had interesting options for a country pub. I had cheese souffle, a wonderful Sussex Smokie and Bailey's cheesecake and all were perfect and reasonably priced. Thank you for an amazing meal.β
βHad a fab time on NYE with hazel as our server, experience was amazing and very comfortable. Hazel was very welcoming and a treat to talk to. Food was great too!β
βCanβt speak for the rooms as didnβt see them but based on all else am giving a 5 as not sure what happens if skip stars for the rooms .. but the service is phenomenal. Fascinated to watch the efficiency and attention the staff give to their jobs. They dont skip a beat! As for the ambience and just total loveliness of the building and its setting. Gorgeous. Iβm trying to think of reasons to come back to this area. Loved it. My veggie tagine was pretty good too. Chips - French fries - as good as they get. No stragglers at the bottom you canβt eat. Yummy til the last bite.β
βFirst time ever to an Ivy restaurant and it was fantastic. Greeted warmly at the door and taken straight to our table. Our waiter was lovely, he was charismatic and friendly. The restaurant was fully booked and the atmosphere was great. Now the food- one of the best meals I have ever had. Scallops and soup to start and they were happy to accommodate my fussy eating with the starter. Mains were sea bass and flat iron chicken and we couldnβt fault it. Great value for money considering the high quality food and service provided. Thank youβ
βThis place is truly truly fantastic. Donβt listen to the naysayers, the negative ninnies. The food is wonderful, the staff are gorgeously wonderful and the atmosphere top notch. In a way, this wonderful place is a bit of time capsule, but itβs one of the reasons why this place is so wonderful. Amongst the many overpriced, hyper-gentrified and over modern places that we are forced to dine in, this place stands out for something true, wonderful, fun, nostalgic and just brilliant. Just go and enjoyβ¦.β
βVisited late night and they still served us, the server (young lad) was so friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and the chef was lovely. Very clean place. Huge portions for a very good price! We will be back to hove for this foodβ
βWe had the best night out here! Fantastic pub, great drinks and service!β
βReservation online was super easy. We had a lovely lunch with amazing food. Our fish was fresh and dessert very indulgent. We've sampled most of the menu recently with various visits. Staff are welcoming and friendly, service is always great. Good range of drinks available, and simple but delicious menu. Proper pub grub! The inerior is tastefully decorated, a lovely garden and a hugely popular teepee for rainy days at the rear. We'll visit again soon.β
βFab Sunday roast and pud (only got pic of pud as was so hungry!) Great choice. Friendly staff and doggy friendly. Only issue the room could have been a bit warmer.β
βQuirky joint. Small and cosy. Friendly staff. Lots of different rooms/areas. Can bring in outside food to have with your drink. The deal is that you clean up after yourself. A total no brainer with Bad Boys Burgers nextdoorβ
βA brilliant independent local countryside pub that still has character, unlike a lot of the bigger brewery chain pubs. Comfortable seating and plenty of space alongside a clean and well maintained interior with the option to sit outside if the weather's good. We came as a table of 5 for dinner, and the service was quick and attentive. The portion sizes generous and value for money were good overall. The burgers and sticky toffee pudding were both brilliant, and there were good words spoken about the Liver and Bacon as well as the Irish coffees, too! Specials boards change regularly, and with drinks, mains, and desserts, we still spent just under Β£30 per person, including service charge. It's definitely worth checking out and supporting your localβ
