“we absolutely love it here . the guy writing the bad review went round taking the worst , there are some divine vans here . its so friendly, welcoming , the people are lovely . it’s conveniently near the port for the ferry to France . Half way between Eastbourne and Brighton. its old fashioned but that is its charm . It has its own beach right in your door step . we love everyhring about it here”
“My room was small but had everything I could want although the TV reception was a bit iffy. Breakfasts are excellent. Well situated for bus stops, station and town centre and parking for car drivers”
“Stayed at the Secret Campsite near Hastings. Great little campsite, very peaceful and perfect if you want to feel like you want to camp in the wild but still have your creature comforts (there is a loo and hot running water for a shower). The Hosts are great people, super helpful. Don't really understand some of the one star reviews here, this is proper camping - not glamping. We loved it, will definitely be going back and we are taking all our friends!”
“The Kemp Townhouse is fabulous - so good that it makes you reluctant to leave the hotel room. There are cheaper places to stay in town, but this boutique hotel is excellent value and full of unexpected little touches. Our room was warm and comfortable, with lovely toiletries and a decanter of very nice port included at no extra cost. Service couldn't be faulted either - I very clumsily smashed several glasses in the dining room and the staff waved it off. The smoothie shots handed out at breakfast (which was excellent) were lovely too. Even though checkout was at 11 am, they were more than happy to take care of our bags while we explored Brighton. The only downside I can think of is that it's a bit of a trek to the hotel from the station, but otherwise it's perfect. Looking forward to my next visit!”
“Everything was very good. It was easy to check in, the room was clean and fresh, so were the beds and towels. We had a TV, tea and coffee facilities, a good shower, also an extra heater if it was chilly and even a hair dryer. It was very good value for money and the lady who met us on arrival was very friendly. The location was excellent we had a coffee shop and a pub plus lots of shops at one end of the street and a five minute walk to the beech at the other end. There was lots of independent eateries and bars within a short walk. We were also only about a 10 or 15 minute walk from the Royal Pavilion and the Museum or the Lanes and the shops. It was also on a very good bus route.”
“I loved how big and spacious the rooms were as well as the quality of the beds, they looked cheap but felt comfortable, the service was amazing with such helpful staff and quick response to complaints. The location was amazing too it was really close to the beach and central Brighton, malls and coffee shops were easily accessible because of the straightforward way. Overall 5 stars and underrated for a 3 star hotel”
“Lovely room with easy check in and out. Very comfortable beds situated in a nice village. Definitely worth the visit and will be returning soon!!”
“Away working and got feed up paying £10 for a bacon and egg roll and a coffee. £10.99 for all you can eat in a premier inn is the way to go. Filled me flask and left with a pocket full of fruit and yoghurt.”
“I stayed at this lovely hotel in November 2025. The service was fantastic, rooms a delight and great location. Unfortunately I had a medical issue during my stay, staff & management went to so much effort to help me and were so helpful. I would definitely stay here again, thank you Legends David”
“Very enjoyable experience, food & drinks was lovely with the view and water adding a beautiful dynamic to the old school vibe of the building. Definitely recommend a visit!”
“Get a sea view room. Lovely to open the curtains to it in the morning when the sun is shining. Room was adequate. Bed was comfy. Staff were there in the background but didn't have much to do with them after check in. Breakfast is adequate. Parking is charged for but apparently not guaranteed, which the staff were very upfront about. If you park on the road outside, there are charges from 9am to 6pm. Move a few hundred yards up the road towards Goring and the parking becomes free. We moved our car the first night as soon as we realised this.”
“Good location near to the pier albeit no views in our room. Clean room with nice bed and good shower in the en suit. Hosts are very receptive to requests - we asked for more butter one morning and then they gave us additional butter without us having to ask each subsequent morning. They also remembered our breakfast order and checked we wanted the same each day, consisting of 2 bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, mushrooms, beans, toast, jam on the table and tea or coffee. Plenty of tea and coffee in the rooms. Daily cleaning was excellent, folded any clothes left out and put pyjamas in the bed. Overall, excellent stay with plenty to do in Brighton. Would recommend and return.”
“Simple accommodation with excellent placement, facilities and particularly staff. Very good experience and will use again.”
“I loved this hotel! The location was wonderful, close to the beach and attractions. We stayed there over the weekend and found the room clean and tidy, airy and neat. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. Can't recommend enough!”
“I loved the very central but quiet location which felt quite the win in Brighton! It was easy self service access which went without a hitch. Everything felt fresh and clean including what looked like lovely brand new carpets. Gorgeous room. It is the perfect location for a relaxing trip to Brighton. I can’t wait to stay here again!”
“We ended up at Kempfield House Hotel on a whim when our original lodging fell through. The owners and staff were incredibly kind and warm upon our late night, last minute arrival. We were able to secure rooms that were spacious, extremely clean, and updated. Check in and check out were extremely simple as well. I would definitely recommend this stay!”
“Excellent location right by the beach. Lovely sized room and everything we needed in the room. Very clean. Friendly staff very welcoming and could not do enough for us. Will absolutely come back and stay again. Thank you!”
“I recently visited The Crabtree in Shoreham-by-Sea for a pint, and it was a pleasant experience. The pub has a welcoming, traditional feel with a friendly atmosphere. The staff were attentive and made sure I felt comfortable. I enjoyed a pint of their local ale, which was perfectly chilled and flavorful. The ambiance was relaxed, with a mix of locals and visitors enjoying the cozy setting. Whether you’re inside or in the garden, it’s a great spot to unwind. Overall, having a pint at The Crabtree was a delightful experience, and I look forward to my next visit!”
“Fantastic service from the amazing staff, especially the bar/reception teams. I requested a room with easy access and they accommodated me in room 5, which had (appart from 1 small step) level access. Lovely bar and reasonably priced drinks, I had the nachos which were outstanding. A few small gripes: They do not supply any toiletries. The TV is quite small. Bar closes at 22:00. Otherwise, flawless and highly recommended.”
“Our first time staying at this old gem. It was arranged for a special birthday of mine, delayed by a year due to my partner having emergency surgery a year ago. It did not disappoint and we cannot thank the staff enough. We had the most amazing sea view room. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The friendliness and service from all staff was fantastic. Special thanks to Connor who has not been at the hotel long but whose customer care and service could not be bettered. He is a real asset to the hotel and nothing was too much trouble. He helped make our weekend go smoothly. We had my birthday meal in the hotel restaurant, The Wardroom, for 10 of us. The food was exceptional, as was the service. Thanks to Stan for that. All in all, a birthday to remember. I cannot recommend the hotel more highly.”
“Stayed at this fabulous townhouse for my birthday with my best friend and Anne and Dan were the perfect hosts :) great communication, superconvenient location (stone throw from the beach) and they gave us a bunch of reccys for local hikes and pubs. 10/10 would recommend and will be staying here again xx”
“Stayed here for a couple of nights with my friend. We were bowled over with Michael & Paul’s top class hospitality, friendliness & attention to detail. Beautiful room with a comfy bed & everything you could ever need including phone chargers, umbrellas even plug adapters . Lovely guys & I’d highly recommend staying here when visiting Brighton. 10/10”
“A wonderful gem located in peaceful Peacehaven. Our host was the icing on the cake following our excursion to Normandy.”
“Fantastic venue. Amazing views. Linda is an outstanding host she things about every little detail. Nothing is too much trouble. Tranquil spot with chickens ducks dogs and horses.”
“Can't find how to leave a review on Rosebud Cottage's own website, so will do a brief one here. We recently stayed for a week and it is honestly one of the very best places we have ever stayed in. Amazingly well-equipped, so comfortable and welcoming, perfectly situated for all the shops and cafes etc in Steyning. Everything on the property's own website is true!”
“Lovely lady, great breakfast and beautiful house!! Really enjoyed my stay there!”
“I stayed in this apartment with two friends in September. The apartment is very clean. The beds are comfortable and the blankets are clean. All the amenities are working: washing machine, dishwasher, stovetop, hair dryer (and more). The apartment is conveniently located for basic amenities, a 5-minute walk from the station and supermarkets. The owners are kind and super available for any needs or advice. APPROVED!”
“Dogs cute, nice waitress, food could've arrived a bit faster”
“Everything was wonderful, warm welcome and very attentive to all our needs. Located within 10 minutes of Lewes and 30 minutes to Brighton in the South Downs countryside. We will recommend it to our friends and family.”
