“Love this pub beautiful set up pool table and the outside is banging especially if they got the new cover over all of this. Perfect pub for a quick one durring the week can get very busy on a weekend.”
“Posting this a little late. It's a nice cosy location to stay in, chose the location en route to another city. The rooms were neat and clean, had all the basic facility and the staff were friendly. The breakfast deal was good value for money and was very nice.”
“Had a great brunch. Restaurant has a hip eclectic vibe and friendly atmosphere. Food was very tasty. AM clientele were a mixture of home office type using the communal space and regular restaurant goers.”
“The building is quaint, just sitting in there is a lovely experience. Good chance you have wait to get in as it is pretty busy. The soup was very nice, the buns were also rich and tasty, we had 3 different types and all very happy with it. Meal deals are worth considering. Their tea is excellent, worth buying the leaf tea in the shop in the basement. Bathroom was sliglhly neglected in the rush hour, but otherwise a memorable hour we had there.”
“The sandwiches are fabulous! We stopped for a nosh on Friday, my husband grabbed a mortadella and mozzarella sandwich along with cinnamon bun. The cinnamon bun was lovely but the sandwich was the best I've had since a trip to Italy two years ago. I like it so much, I had to have a second one before our weekend was over!”
“Lovely afternoon treat at the 'Modiste' to round off a weekend in Bath including a Bridgerton Walking Tour. We were drawn in by the affiliation with the show but the food was truly delicious, the quiche, sausage roll and cakes were shared were lovely. Friendly staff and a brilliant location.”
“I tried many croissants in Europe and UK, and trust me they have one of the best Almond Croissants. Definitely worth a try, my mouth waters everytime I think of their Croissant.”
“Very friendly owners, and quite good range of items, it’s local and convenient, therefore you would indeed pay slightly more, with that being said, I haven’t really seen anything absurdly priced. All around 5 stars!”
“Cozy atmosphere, they apparently don't serve food. But the guy running the pub recommended a really nice place to go to if you crave pub food, so 5 stars for that!”
“Traditional small pub tucked away in the centre of Bath. Great selection of draft beers. Great place for a pitstop during a shopping trip to Bath.”
“Family lunch for four; incredible pizza and the best cheeseburger I've had! Ever. Amazing value and friendly staff. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming during the daytime; will definitely return next time in Bath.”
“Fabulous pub with very high quality food and service. Aston and his lady assistant are fantastic hosts, so are the others they all make you so welcome. Food is first class in fact so good we went back a few days later and they remembered our names and what we ate!”
“What a lucky find! We popped into The Locksbrook Inn and fell in love with the place straight away. It has a truly special magic about it. Picture this: you're sitting in a comfy armchair, surrounded by warm lighting and stylish decor, while the boats gently glide past outside. It's pure relaxation. The service was exceptional – not just friendly, but attentive in a wonderfully pleasant and unobtrusive way. You can really tell the staff love what they do. We worked our way through the drinks menu and were delighted by the quality and selection. The Locksbrook Inn is more than just a pub; it's a proper retreat where time seems to slow down a little. I wholeheartedly recommend it!”
“Visited for lunch on a Sunday and we were lucky to grab the last non booked table. A popular pub and a delightful courtyard garden. Service was great (with an optional 10% gratuity on but not included in the bill) three courses 32.50 two courses 27.00 Drinks were reasonably priced and water offered immediately upon arrival and seating. A busy Sunday but staff were attentive and remembered when to bring napkins if required. Overall the food was good, pudding well, the panacota was amazing. Not too pretentious, just good food and service.”
“Staff are super friendly, beer is great, games are great, pub is great! Highly recommend.”
“Frites shop across the way very kindly delivers the food to your seat at the Grapes. Excellent vibes, staff and drinks.”
“Sadly we recently had to say goodbye to my Father. But Helen and the team at the Seven Stars made the post cremation Wake go faultlessly. Not only did they produce the most amazing and delicious food, but also catered to those people who attended with different dietary needs. Throughout the day and evening the food continued, whilst the locals were very respectful of our loss. An additional lovely touch were the extra flowers Helen put around the room we were based in, which were beautiful. The final generosity of us being able to take home the leftover lasagne (which was delicious) and flowers (which lasted all week) was the icing on the cake. Thank you to you all and look forward to spending time there again in more pleasant circumstances”
“The room was excellent. Comfy bed and well appointed. The bathroom was bright and clean. Lots of hot water and well stocked. Location was great, although a bit of a walk from the city center and the bus and train stations.”
“First visit last night to play pool. A truly typical English pub, the kind of local that I could imagine spending Christmas Eve or New Year's in a great atmosphere. Tasteful and surprisingly large rear extension for traditional pub games or private functions and large courtyard garden with BBQ. Friendly staff and customers. Thanks”
“So I was a little apprehensive about getting my haircut, I found G. Hatto’s after walking around to see many places to go in Bath, I settled on this GH’s. It’s a Tuesday today, an it was perfect timing, no queue, they have enough space for many people anyway, but the quality and the time invested in my haircut by Tristan, I ended up calling him the Leonardo Da Vinci of barbers! Check out the instagram posts! Very impressed! I never normally walk away from haircuts as good as I have today, feeling really good about how I look, feeling confident doesn’t come naturally to me. I took the time to write this review because I feel I owe it to Tristan and the Barbers, for how good I feel right now! Confidence has been escaping me for a while and now it’s partially returned when I didn’t expect it. I think because it was quiet I got a little extra special attention, but I cannot see me getting a bad cut here so I am now switching my barbers for G.Hatto’s indefinitely. Thanks Tristan, nice to meet you, see you again probably less than months time, send the photos so I can update this review! Legendary cut on this bonce!”
“Sophia highlighted and cut my hair so beautifully. I am absolutely thrilled with the result, and she understands colouring very well. Sophia and the whole team were delightful and it was a great pleasure to be in the salon where I was looked after very well.”
“A lovely pub, relaxed and warm atmosphere. Good choice of drinks and friendly, prompt service. We were there on curry night and would highly recommend the meal deal, we also had desert (bounty cheesecake and sticky toffee pudding). One curry choice, homemade and tasty. Really lovely food, and the chips were homemade and great!”
“5 stars for will excellent service goes an extra mile to keep everyone happy, and lovely sandwiches ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”
“Been many times to the fantastic Brasserie and our last visit was no exception. I have always felt the food is the best in the whole of Bath, and to boot the atmosphere has a warm buzz every time we go, the service staff are always really friendly and welcoming. Whenever I have friends or family over to visit we take them to the Brasserie as I know it will always go down a success.”
“This place is so good!! Visiting from the US and the employees were so kind. The fish and chips were awesome, as well as the olives and the complimentary dish we received (which I’ve unfortunately forgotten the name of). 10/10!! If we ever return to Bath, we will come back!”
“Posting reviews is not a habit for me but, just occasionally, it seems necessary. I have just seen a negative comment about Dexter's here, which deserves to be highlighted because it is really so wrong. Dexter's is a fine coffee shop, with a dedicated owner, loyal staff, and many regular and satisfied customers like me. The negative comment is really destructive. The writer, shining her London coffee credentials in truly pompous fashion, weighs in on the owner, the quality of the coffee, the uniqueness of her terrible experience compared to the normal welcome she experiences elsewhere, and ends by telling us all to avoid at all costs. So, first to correct the narrative. Dexter's, in five years of trading in this part of Bath, has brought a community to life. It is a meeting point and a place for conversation, a place where good things in life are celebrated, and not so good things are comforted. The coffee is sourced from a reputable local roastery, Extract and the owner knows precisely what her clientele need, which is really good coffee and light snacks, delivered consistently in a great atmosphere. But she is balancing a complex community; the shop is welcoming to owners and dogs, walkers and cyclists, people working and meeting. To keep all of us happy, and her business running, she has to be a manager and a diplomat. She does it brilliantly. Sometimes, people do push things a bit. Cyclists, like me, might lay a bike across the window; or someone may bring their lunch from somewhere else and spread it out for an hour whilst working and drinking one coffee. All without asking. Luckily such things are rare, and nearly always no offence was ever intended, but it is necessary to point out a problem, put it right and carry on. But of course there is always a reviewer out there who, if crossed, feels the power to write a review which slams not one thing, but everything about an establishment. And in doing so, the reviewer shows herself to be a righteously indignant huffer and puffer. Dexter's is great, so is the coffee and the company. Do not avoid. Unless that is, you are one of those negative reviewers who delights in trying to destroy small and valuable businesses. By all means please, you, stay away. See you at Dexter's everyone else!!”
“A hidden gem in Bath while browsing the beautiful Neptune. The coffee is great, as is the tea — served in lovely china. All the cakes look fabulous, especially the house-made shortbread. The food menu is always seasonal and smells incredible — I definitely need to come back for lunch soon. The team are also lovely. Would highly recommend!”
“I really liked this place. The coffee was good, flat white as usual but impressed me most was the sourdough toast, best I've had for quite a while, loose butter not fiddly little packs and more than enough for the 4 half slices. Check out the full menu which are brunchy. Polite service with a smile.”
“Had impromptu small meal here with large group (9) during the rain. Lovely atmosphere and sweet staff. Recommend!”
“Like stepping back to a simpler, nicer time. This is how pubs used to be. You can actually sit at the bar on a stool! Reasonably priced beer and attentive service. If you are just looking for a pint and a nice atmosphere this is the place.”
