“Recently refurbished and really rather nice now. Burgers were excellent. Probably the best I've had anywhere in quite a while. Everything else was first class too. Great service. They make everything fresh to order, but when it arrives it's definitely worth the wait. Very, very impressed. We'll be back!”
“2 night stay to experience the delights of Bristol. Everything I needed for city break. Walking distance to everything. Including Catherdral, Shops Christmas market and SS Great Britain. Staff so friendly and helpful. HIGHLY recommended for budget hotel.”
“Friendly staff. Heating wasn't working in our room and no other rooms available so gave us a portable heater with a lot of apologies for it not working. Didn't try the food as the menu was limited but one of the staff mentioned the pub across the road and I would recommend going there as the food was excellent and staff friendly and less than a 10 min walk.”
“Can't complain at all, staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and even had air conditioning which was a relief. The buffet breakfast was cheap and totally acceptable It's very close proximity to a Subway and short distance from a supermarket was convenient as well”
“Stayed 2 nights at the beginning of August with my dog who had major surgery at Bristol Vets Specialists which was a 10 minute walk away. Was so convenient, especially as pets were allowed. Staff were amazing, particularly Katie, who gave hugs and empathy the day my dog had surgery, I would also like to thank Nicola and Sian too. Highly recommended, I will always remember their kindness, thank you.”
“Had a lovely 2 night stay at the Old Mill Lodge. Rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. Staff were fantastic, especially Ellie and a new chap who you’d think had been working there for years. They couldn’t do enough. We’re so helpful and friendly! Would recommend this hotel to all”
“Perfect place to stay when visiting friends gor the weekend. We even found the quick route to it without using the motorway. Soft comfortable beds, I had a wonderful night's sleep.”
“Lovely Saturday night can hear everything but nice bed room clean. No toilet paper or cups and teaspoon to stir and only 2 little milks I like at least 4 cups of tea in a morning. I would stay again good old style and lovely place maybe 2-3 days next time because where they do meals were fully booked so must be good.”
“Unfortunately I can't say much about rooms or location, as I only entered the establishment twice this week for a course I was talking. But what i can tell you is based off of the ground floor, it Is a very nice building. A lot of charm, character and style you don't really get much of nowadays. The staff were smashing too! I may have briefly conversed with about 7 of the staff between both days. Each one as kind, friendly and well mannered as the next. One gentleman in particular, really helped a lot of us out in my course when we needed to print things off and stuff. From being in similar positions myself at work I can appreciate it may have been a pain but he was very respectful and assisted everyone. It is a shame I did not have the pleasure of attending the hotel as a room guest, as I expect I would have had a nice time. But if I am in the area again I will be sure to check it out.”
“Fuzi was very helpful in sorting and arranging our booking. We double booked due to internet connection and he helped us sort it out. Came in the hotel late 10pm and everything is amazing! Thank you so much again and God bless to all!”
“Comfortable and clean rooms in a good location with plenty of free parking. Excellent service from Reception staff who made us feel very welcome, especially making our daughter feel special for her birthday !”
“Visited bath to relax and chill from the hustle bustle of London. Was very lucky to get to visit this hostel in bath it was very clean tidy beds were comfy. Real smart mod con facilities usb points in beds plugs even a reading light What more could you ask for. I felt like a flash packer not a backpacker ☺️ I Was checked in by Louise she told me all about the facilities and very professional was even given a free drink for booking on there site. She made me feel welcome great service and hospitality. Josh was great to good customer service made me feel welcome. Zach was great to very professional and helped me with all the questions I had during my stay. If your in bath definitely look these guys up”
“Lovely apartment, few minutes drive from the city centre, on street parking was free and that was a massive plus for me!”
“Great location with good access to places nearby for lunch etc and close to the M5/M4 with plenty of parking. Staff very helpful and so are the admin team. Prompt at telling you when post arrives.”
“Was great living in this apartment complex. Well equipped ammenities and right in the heart of town.”
“Great service to the airport and friendly driver. However, disappointed with return journey, despite the plane been delayed 30 minutes, upon arrival at the office it was very busy with many people requesting a taxi. We had pre booked and despite this waited over 40 minutes in the cold and were virtually the last passengers to be collected. For the price this was very disappointing service and the lady working was not at all customer focused ... appears to be the norm for her. The drivers appear to be more friendly then the operators !”
“A last minute booking for one night on 1st December. The room was large, clean and with a very comfortable bed. Proper blackout curtains and decent windows meant the room was dark and quiet. An iron and an ironing board were a welcome sight, as was the large shower. Staff were friendly and attentive with a good sense of humour. Nit picking would say that there is a £3.00 charge for parking, and for some reason Google Maps took me to a different hotel several miles away. All in all though, a good quality, well priced hotel and recommended.”
“i cant believe you do food love i wasn’t disappointed. it wasn’t that bad i ask for a burger with no bun /bread and no chips , salad instead. but no picked gherkin or salad on top of my burger, it was 2 lots of burger with cheese look very boring but if was nice salad was nice ok fresh corncob very good. great work that your selling food. hopefully no more takeaways if we book Travelodge staff are very friendly. mite have breakfast but it depends on what time i get up in the morning i’m full now going to bed now keep up.”
“I used to stay for 2 weeks due to house move with my wife and my little son. Very quiet location, good transport bus lines, for those who drives is literally 1 min from M5 motorway. Rooms are kept good condition and clean. Seen housekeepers working hard! Couldn't catch one of the receptionist yang girl name but she was very helpful and always smiling to my little son, she helped us to book a taxi with recomendation! Nice hotel overall, I would recommend and would stay there again! Thank you very much!”
“Location was excellent, only a few minutes walk from the harbour restaurants, 15min walk to the city centre, and 10mins to the O2 Academy. Staff were friendly and helpful at check-in. I stayed in a private room. It was small, with just a bed and a side cupboard, but it was exactly what I needed, and cost literally 1/4 of the next cheapest accommodation in the centre, so great value. Bed was comfortable, and all the bedding was washed and clean. Communal bathroom was very clean. I arrived back around 12:30am after going to a concert. Was buzzed in straight away. Had a good night's sleep....no noise whatsoever from anyone else in the hostal. At checkout, was given my £20 deposit back straight away, all very quick and easy. I'll definitely stay here again the next time I need to stay in the city centre.”
“The ribs is the best dish here. Steak and frites is too dry. Overall it’s nice :))”
“5 stars to Ellie and Amber, those girls are absolutely brilliant at their jobs and stars! So kind and understanding, the hotel and kitchen was absolutely rammed and they still persevered and got through it with a smile despite there only being two of them. Amazing customer service and understanding and cannot complain. They really made our stay. Rooms were okay, no issues, we had an issue with one of the rooms (our fault, our child had an accident on the bed) we offered to change the sheets with some spare bedding and they gave us an upgrade instead! Didn’t expect this at all, as was happy to just change the sheets ourselves as it was technically our fault, but the staff insisted. Internet connection was poor and no signal during the entire 3 day stay, parking and signal/wifi issues were the only letdown with this hotel. Nearly £50 parking for a 3 day stay, damaged our car on the way in due to a sudden steep drop, so be mindful. £10 for WiFi for 3 days that didn’t work, we did complain however it was not resolved.”
“Went here even after reading the other reviews, just for the idea of novelty value. But, it was actually a really nice place to stay, didn't need to book in advance, and could get a room with my friend for only £16 each. Clean, well looked after, good housekeeping routine, more of a self-service basis, but with the nature of it being a hostel works efficiently. Provided free tee and coffee, had a lounge, living room(TV, DVD's Books), kitchen with dining table, music and gaming room. The rooms have safes or you can keep valuables at the reception, the place felt more like a little community than somewhere that could be hostile, and be at risk of losing your things or health and safety being at risk. I couldn't recommend it more, and would definitely stay here every time I go to Bristol, and will recommend others that they do also.”
“Great hotel in a lovely historic building with very friendly and helpful staff”
“Sometimes you feel compelled to write a review. We had a last minute stay in Bath and were looking for an affordable, decent hotel close to bath but not in the centre. We found it with the Wentworth House Hotel. From the free parking, late-ish (arrived in darkness) welcome after a long drive and some good directions to our forward destination we knew we'd chosen well. Yes, there are some low star reviews for this establishment but I wonder if they picked the wrong hotel. If you're looking for swish, silver service with mints on your pillow and uniformed staff - keep looking. If you're looking for a clean, good, honest 'head down tummy full' stay, they this is perfect. Which brings me on to the breakfast - splendid stuff. Freshly cooked (they asked what time we'd be sitting down for it so it could be timed perfectly), it was hot, tasty and plentiful. And oh my, that sausage... So in list form and to conclude - free parking, lovely building, well kept facilities, a bar, good size room (with toiletries), a fabulous view, friendly welcome, excellent breakfast and just 15 minutes walk to the centre of Bath. (Take the bus back - a tip from another review and well worth doing - it's a long hill after a big meal). Thank you WHH - we'll be back.”
“Stunning location and building an institution which definitely need more recognition for all the support it give to their medical students.”
